RUSH: We go to Bakersfield, California. This is Kim, and it\u2019s great to have you. I\u2019m glad you called.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey. Greetings from Bakersfield, Rush! It\u2019s a pleasure to speak with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was driving down the road and almost ran off into an almond orchard this morning when I heard Cynthia Nixon wants African-Americans to run the pot industry. So my question is: Is this because in her opinion African-American culture is like a drug culture and that they would be a natural fit and be experts in this field? And isn\u2019t this racist, and isn\u2019t she enlightened?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, let me try to answer some of your clearly pointed questions by reading to you from the New York Daily News story. Now, the headline of the story: “Cynthia Nixon Ignites Outrage for Saying Marijuana Could Be ‘Form of Reparations\u2019 in Black Neighborhoods<\/a> — Cynthia Nixon took heat Monday from black leaders over her comments that creating a legalized pot industry in New York could serve as a form of reparations in black communities.<\/p>\n

\"\"“Nixon on Saturday told Forbes magazine ‘now that cannabis is exploding as an industry, we have to make sure that those communities that have been harmed and devastated by marijuana arrests get the first shot at this industry. We (must) prioritize them in terms of licenses. It\u2019s a form of reparations.'” So, yes, essentially these neighborhoods — which feature a lot of African-Americans that have been arrested for using weed — they get first dibs on the weed farms that will be made legal, and she\u2019s gonna call it “reparations.”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh… (laughing) But isn\u2019t that racist?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, can a liberal be racist?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No! (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: I mean, that\u2019s what we\u2019re talking about here. Can a progressive be any of these horrible things they tell everybody they are?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, because they mean it a different way than what they really mean.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, the Reverend Sharpton had a reaction to it. “‘I\u2019m for legalizing marijuana and I like Cynthia Nixon but putting pot shops in our communities is not reparations,\u2019 the Rev. Al Sharpton tweeted. ‘Health care, education !!\u2019 [sic] Manhattan Democratic Party Chairman Keith Wright, a former long-time state assemblyman from Harlem, said Nixon\u2019s comment ‘is ill-informed, lacks understanding of the greatest crime in history, and should cease and desist.'” What do you think he means, “the greatest crime in history”? What is that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) I don\u2019t think your show is long enough for that answer. (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, he\u2019s talking about slavery here, and he\u2019s saying that she doesn\u2019t understand it if she wants to turn over the first legalized pot farms to African-Americans and call it reparations. You know, here\u2019s the —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Does she want to put them back on the farm like in slavery?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, she wants them to be the masters of the farm, is the point here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Ohhhh. Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: She wants them to own the marijuana farms. She wants them —<\/p>\n

CALLER: And maybe the people of white privilege could be in the field?<\/p>\n

RUSH: (chuckles) Well, it\u2019s up to them who they hire.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, okay. (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: But I think before whites got hired she\u2019d be hiring illegal immigrants to run these pot farms. The interesting thing here — or not interesting. The thing to note here is how the liberal mind works and how oriented around prejudice it is. In the liberal-progressive mind, when it comes to African-Americans, I\u2019m telling you, they don\u2019t see much. When they look at African-Americans… This has been the thing that has always struck me. I think proud progressives look at African-Americans with great sympathy.<\/p>\n

I think they feel sorry for them, and I think they need… In the liberal mind, African-Americans need advantages. They need state-sponsored advantages because they aren\u2019t capable on their own of succeeding independently. I think that\u2019s how they look. Now, they tell everybody the reason for that is cultural right-wing racism. But that\u2019s not the reason for it. These people have the lowest expectations you can have of African-Americans.<\/p>\n

Liberal progressives — which today is the modern equivalent of the plantation owner, if you ask me. Look at what\u2019s happening to Kanye West. They\u2019re the ones that have low expectations of African-Americans. They are the ones that look at them with eternal sympathy. And just note: Whenever an African-American succeeds as an individual outside the boundaries of acceptable progressivism, look what is done to them. The left seeks them out and tries to ruin them and tries to destroy them, their reputations, the route they take and took to become successes.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re called Uncle Toms, any number of things. Real, independent, legitimate African-American success is simply not tolerated in today\u2019s Democrat Party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
