RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, not to regurgitate some old Clinton material, but, boy, Hillary really earned the title of ‘Slick Hilly\u2019 last night with her response to Candy Crowley\u2019s question about the illegal aliens and the license debate. You know, she completely skirted the issue, and yet gave an answer that targeted local politicians and sort of said, ‘Hey, as your president, I\u2019ll sort of be hands-off and let you address these issues on your own. I promise you state\u2019s rights.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. I knew that\u2019s how some people were going to interpret this, that Mrs. Clinton believes in federalism and she\u2019s going to let the states run the show on these kinds of things. You just wait! That is precisely the way she\u2019s trying to fool people. She has no intention. She doesn\u2019t believe in that concept of federalism, the federal government having limits and states having rights. Mrs. Clinton is going to try to grow the power and the size of the national federal government like it has never been grown before! That was just an escape mechanism for not having to take a position on the real question: ‘Do you or do you not support driver\u2019s licenses for illegal immigrants?\u2019 I\u2019m glad you called to get this straightened out, Jeff, because this is why I\u2019m host and can read the stitches on a fastball and analyze this stuff, and keep people from going astray with tricks, such as those pulled by the Clintons.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m printing something out here, because it confirmed exactly, exactly my instincts. We had the caller on Mrs. Clinton. ‘Hey, that\u2019s a pretty sharp move on Mrs. Clinton\u2019s part. They\u2019re signaling to these governors that she\u2019s going to let \u2019em run the show here when it comes to driver\u2019s licenses, and all that sort of stuff.\u2019 She was on the Situation Room yesterday, and that\u2019s where we played a bite where she said, ‘I\u2019m going to let the governors handle all this,\u2019 but later on in the interview she said, ‘I think the fact that governors are being forced into this position is really unfortunate. They should not be making immigration policy. The federal government should be making immigration policy, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to do as president again, and I don\u2019t believe that, in the context of federal immigration reform, that that would be an issue that governors would have to contend with.\u2019 Well, hello political ad in the making! Can you say ‘political ad in the making\u2019? Will Obama be able to turn up the heat in his own kitchen to make an ad out of this? Will a Republican be able to do it? Don\u2019t wait. It went completely over Candy Crowley\u2019s head. She didn\u2019t even notice. But this is a profound statement. The bite that we had ended, and this came later, and it led our caller to think that Mrs. Clinton is… (I\u2019m starting to hit the blue funk again. I can just feel it.)<\/p>\n

Mrs. Clinton was signaling these governors, that she\u2019s going to let \u2019em run the show. No, no. I knew without having heard this part of the bite, this transcript. Do you think that Mrs. Clinton — whose total objective is to grow the government as large as possible — is going to let governors have a say over immigration policy? It ain\u2019t gonna to happen. (interruption) I know, states have always had control over driver\u2019s licenses. That\u2019s right. States have always had control over driver\u2019s license policy. Well, if they link it to immigration, illegal immigration, she\u2019s going to go in there with this answer. Candy Crowley said, ‘What about Governor Spitzer? Because you have said that you\u2019re sympathetic to what he\u2019s trying to do, that you understand the problem he\u2019s got. Is the problem that he\u2019s got the federal government isn\u2019t handling it right?\u2019 and you, when you are president again… She says this: ‘I\u2019m going to try to do as president AGAIN.\u2019 She thinks she\u2019s already been president! She thinks she has. So any of you people calling me and saying, ‘Well, these records, she may not have really done much. That\u2019s why she doesn\u2019t want them out.\u2019 It\u2019s going to show just the opposite if we ever figure out what\u2019s in those records. We\u2019ll never get \u2019em.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019ve got the Hillary sound bite, just to put it out to you in her own words.<\/p>\n

HILLARY: I think the fact that governors are being forced into this position is really unfortunate. They should not be making immigration policy. The federal government should be making immigration policy. And that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to try to do as president again.<\/p>\n

RUSH: As president again. Do you hear this? But, folks, the real point here is, Spitzer is not messing with federal immigration policy. He\u2019s dealing with a state issue. Driver\u2019s licenses! The states are in charge of driver\u2019s licenses. Spitzer wants the illegals to have \u2019em. We all know why. Learn it, love it, live it. Don\u2019t doubt me. I say it, you believe it. The whole point of this, when you go to get a driver\u2019s license, you are given a motor voter form. You get your driver\u2019s license. They say on your form, are you legal? You say yes. They don\u2019t check it. They don\u2019t have time to check it. They assume everybody\u2019s going to be honest. That\u2019s what the officials in New York have said. So you get a photo ID, all you gotta do is come up with a Social Security number, and there are gazillions of fraudulent ones out there that you can buy, and, voila, you can register to vote. The Democrat governor makes it possible.<\/p>\n

You know what this is all about, there\u2019s no question. Is Mrs. Clinton saying here that she\u2019s going to usurp state authority over driver\u2019s licenses? The point of this is not only that, she has made it plain here in this little, what was it, 11 second, 14-second bite, I\u2019m going to make sure this bite comes back to haunt her, too. I\u2019m showing you Republicans how to do this, I really am. I got this whole driver\u2019s license thing started. It\u2019s still gone on for a full week. They can\u2019t put it to bed. Now it\u2019s evolved into flip-flopping and the whole business of her records with her husband in the White House when they were co-presidents, and they can\u2019t put this issue away. This one, another slip-up. She said in that debate that ‘the biggest mistake we made was not passing the amnesty bill.\u2019 She\u2019s just now said, ‘I\u2019m gonna do this.\u2019 She\u2019s giving us an idea of what she views the federal government\u2019s role to be and that is all-powerful and all intrusive. And governors, you can go to hell. You shouldn\u2019t be making immigration policy.<\/p>\n

One of the reasons governors are getting involved in immigration policy in some of these border states is because the feds won\u2019t do anything right, the Congress can\u2019t get this done right because they, too, are run by Democrats now, who want votes, and they\u2019re trying to find a way to get these people in here and get \u2019em legal! They tried wet DREAM Act after amnesty failed. They tried all kinds of things under the cloak of darkness and they can\u2019t get away with it anymore because people found out about it. Not only am I showing Republicans how to do this with Mrs. Clinton, I\u2019m going to show you Democrat candidates how to do it, too.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
