RUSH: There was a column in the Washington Post over the weekend called, “Why Can\u2019t We Hate Men?” It\u2019s by Suzanna Danuta Walters<\/a>. Who is she? She\u2019s a professor. She\u2019s a professor of sociology. She\u2019s director of the women\u2019s gender and sexuality studies program at Northeastern University. She is also editor of the prestigious gender studies journal called Signs. Is your subscription to Signs current? Yeah, you can subscribe to Signs. It\u2019s the journal of journals about gender studies.<\/p>\n

“Why Can\u2019t We Hate Men?” She is dead serious and the Washington Post published this. Let me read you just a few excerpts.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s not that Eric Schneiderman (the now-former New York attorney general accused of abuse by multiple women) pushed me over the edge. My edge has been crossed for a long time, before President Trump, before Harvey Weinstein, before ‘mansplaining\u2019 and ‘incels.\u2019 Before live-streaming sexual assaults and red pill men\u2019s groups and rape camps as a tool of war and the deadening banality of male prerogative.<\/p>\n

“Seen in this indisputably true context, it seems logical to hate men. I can\u2019t lie, I\u2019ve always had a soft spot for the radical feminist smackdown, for naming the problem in no uncertain terms. I\u2019ve rankled at the ‘but we don\u2019t hate men\u2019 protestations,” because we do. “But, of course, the criticisms of this blanket condemnation of men … are mostly on the mark. These critics rightly insist on an analysis of male power as institutional, not narrowly personal or individual or biologically based in male bodies. Growing movements to challenge a masculinity built on domination and violence and to engage boys and men in feminism are both gratifying and necessary.”<\/p>\n

“Growing movements to challenge a masculinity built on domination and violence and to engage boys and men in feminism are both gratifying and necessary. But this recognition of the complexity of male domination … should not \u2014 must not \u2014 mean we forget some universal facts.”<\/p>\n

Want to hear some of these universal facts? “Women experience sexual violence, and the threat of that violence permeates our choices big and small. In addition, male violence is not restricted to intimate-partner attacks or sexual assault but plagues us in the form of terrorism and mass gun violence.”<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s not just that men are violent in the marriage bedroom; it\u2019s not just that men are violent in sexual assaults; it\u2019s male masculinity violence that causes terrorism and mass gun violence. That\u2019s all because of maleness. That\u2019s because of masculinity. “Women are underrepresented in higher-wage jobs, local and federal government, business, educational leadership, etc.; wage inequality continues to permeate every economy and almost every industry.” None of that\u2019s true, by the way, anymore.<\/p>\n

But the piece de resistance. “So, in this moment, here in the land of legislatively legitimated toxic masculinity, is it really so illogical to hate men? For all the power of #MeToo and #TimesUp and the women\u2019s marches, only a relatively few men have been called to task, and I\u2019ve yet to see a mass wave of prosecutions or even serious recognition of wrongdoing. On the contrary, cries of ‘witch hunt\u2019 and the plotted resurrection of celebrity offenders came quick on the heels of the outcry over endemic sexual harassment and violence. But we\u2019re not supposed to hate them because,” well, not all of them do this.<\/p>\n

“I love Michelle Obama as much as the next woman, but when they have gone low for all of human history, maybe it\u2019s time for us to go all Thelma and Louise and Foxy Brown on their collective butts.” She\u2019s talking about men.<\/p>\n

“The world has little place for feminist anger. Women are supposed to support, not condemn, offer succor not dismissal. We\u2019re supposed to feel more empathy for your fear of being called a harasser than we are for the women harassed. … So men, if you really are #WithUs and would like us to not hate you for all the millennia of woe you have produced and benefited from, start with this: Lean out so we can actually just stand up without being beaten down.<\/p>\n

“You men, if you really mean you\u2019re with us, pledge to vote for feminist women only and do not run for office yourself. Do not be in charge of anything. Men, step away from your power. We women got this. And please know that your crocodile tears will not be wiped away by us anymore. We have every right to hate you. You\u2019ve done us wrong. It\u2019s long past time to play hard for team feminism and win.”<\/p>\n

This is totally serious. Again, it\u2019s Suzanna Danuta Walters, a professor at Northeastern University. Can you imagine the garbage that she\u2019s teaching women in the classroom? Why can\u2019t we hate men and she makes a case for it. And these are the people that tell us we need to come together. And we need to unify.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re cracking up. I\u2019ll tell you one of the reasons why. They\u2019re getting a lot of what they want. They got gay marriage; they got transgender this, transgender that; they\u2019ve corrupted and taken over the Boy Scouts. Everything that they have made a fuss about, 90% of it they\u2019ve gotten; and they\u2019re not happy. I don\u2019t think they\u2019re constitutionally capable of happiness.<\/p>\n

I think at the root of their problems is a general discontent, unhappiness that breeds an uncontrollable outrage and anger that dominates their being, their existence every day. And no matter how much they, quote, unquote, win, they never feel happy because winning doesn\u2019t seem to accomplish what they think they want. It\u2019s a never-ending cycle.<\/p>\n

And so as they get what they want and become more and more unhappy and displeased, they claim to want even more and more. And that\u2019s how they\u2019re going crazy. They\u2019re going crazy. They\u2019re literally losing their minds right in front of us. Problem is, they run a lot of institutions. And they\u2019re taking a lot of people with them, particularly young skulls full of mush as they go crazy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
