CALLER: Hey, thanks for taking my call, Mr. Limbaugh. I appreciate it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You bet, sir.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I think the left, the media, and the Democrats are about to be mad at themselves for beating a drum on this child-separation story. Because as bad as they think that this is making the administration look, it\u2019s forcing Democratic congressmen and senators to vote for immigration reform. And I think that if any of these two bills that are thinking about being brought out in the House now make it to the House, the media coverage will be almost silent or dialed way back on this issue.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why? Why is what\u2019s going on in the House, these immigration bills…? Why is this bad for the Democrats?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, I just think… I\u2019m sorry. Why is this bad for the Democrats?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah. You said that the Democrats are not gonna be happy that this is happening or something. You think this gonna —<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir. I think that any kind of immigration reform takes away from their platform — that\u2019s talking points, open border — you know, they lose a lot of potential Democratic voters flooding in over the southern border every year. Pretty much everything that the left wants open borders for.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh. So you think if the House passes these immigration bills, they go to the Senate and pass and the president signs them, it\u2019s bad news for the Democrats?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir, I do.<\/p>\n
RUSH: ‘Cause it takes the issue off the table?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: All right. Well, unless something has changed dramatically, the president\u2019s saying he\u2019s nowhere near signing these things, right? They\u2019re amnesty… (interruption) What\u2019s that? “The White House walked it back.” Well, these two bills floating around are the last gasp of the Republican establishment to get their comprehensive immigration reform and to pay off their donors. Look, the reason this is happening in the House is that many of these Republican leaders, this is their last chance to pay off.<\/p>\n
I mean, the Chamber of Commerce and a whole bunch of K Street people have donated big bucks to these people to get amnesty, “comprehensive immigration reform,” and this is their last chance. They\u2019re retiring at the end of this term, basically the end of the year, first week in January. I don\u2019t know what the latest iterations of either of these bills happen to be. And I have heard, “The president will sign it if you get it up to his desk.”<\/p>\n
But I don\u2019t believe that \u2019til it happens. If these things have amnesty, the Democrats would throw a party if they got amnesty. That would legalize everything going on right now, which is what they\u2019re after. Unless I\u2019m missing something here. I understand the theory. Democrats don\u2019t want the issue solved. They want the issue so they can constantly use it to bash Republicans. Believe me, folks.<\/p>\n
If Washington establishment could get an immigration bill that grants amnesty to 20 million illegals and all of the DACA kids, they would take it. ‘Cause they\u2019re gonna look at that as however many million news voters. They\u2019re gonna see that as the end of the Republican Party, as the end of any opposition in not too short a period of time. Here\u2019s Bruce in Cypress, California. Welcome, sir. CALLER: Rush, I\u2019ve been on board since \u201991. Just real quick, I want to add to your comments last hour about the way children are being raised now. They were right on point. You know, kids will play you like a fiddle from when they\u2019re a baby all the way up \u2019til they get out of the house, if they ever do so everything you said there was right on the money. The reason I called is, something I observed, some of the clips I\u2019ve heard on some of the other channels where these kids are yelling, “Daddy!” and “Mommy!” Well, I had a couple of years of Spanish in high school, and I don\u2019t remember those words being part of the Spanish language. So I\u2019m wondering where they\u2019re getting that.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It\u2019s an interesting observation. The Spanish word for daddy would be papi.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, you can have a lot of fun calling somebody papi. You\u2019d better be ready to run when you do it, but you can have a lot of fun if you know how to.<\/p>\n
CALLER: (chuckles)<\/p>\n
RUSH: But are you suggesting that these young kids are being coached, maybe?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n
RUSH: By the media? I wouldn\u2019t put anything past them.<\/p>\n
CALLER: No.<\/p>\n
RUSH: There was an example. I had it earlier and it slipped my mind. There was a photo about a kid in Syria who supposedly had been gassed by somebody, and it was used to sell the United States on taking action. (sobbing) “We gotta do something! Look at what\u2019s happening to that child! The child was just killed in a gas attack,” and it wasn\u2019t. The kid was on the way to the dentist. His father had him in a boat.<\/p>\n
They were going to the dentist, and something happened the boat and the kid went overboard, drowned or whatever. It was totally manufactured, what had happened to that child. I mean, there was even an infobabe in the White House pressroom yesterday playing audio of these wailing children while Kirstjen Nielsen was answering questions about this. At any rate, I appreciate the call, Bruce.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you. I\u2019ve been listening to you since the first Iraq war. I always voted Democrat until I listened to you, since I realized I was a Republican, and since then I\u2019ve become a Deplorable.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Ha-ha. Well, welcome aboard.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Anyway, my comment is, the Democrats want to say let the past be past when it comes to enforcing the immigration laws, but they can\u2019t seem to let slavery and the Civil War statues and everything become part of the past.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Exactly. You have nailed it. That is exactly right, and this is why I have been on my civil rights, human rights kick. You know, the left is a big… “Did you talk to Kim Jong-un about civil rights?” There\u2019s nothing you can do about the civil rights violations of the past. And, if you fix them, if you embark on a policy to make amends, to redress those grievances and you fix them, if you\u2019re continually harassed about them, then you\u2019re never gonna get anywhere.<\/p>\n
Human rights violations are in the past. If you fix them… But dealing with them is a going-forward procedure. But when it comes to the, what happens in the past doesn\u2019t matter. If Obama did it, “No, no, no! That doesn\u2019t matter. We must look forward.” Once again, hypocrisy. I\u2019m glad you discovered that, Darus. I appreciate the call too.
