RUSH: Laura in Union Hill, Alabama. I\u2019m glad you waited. Welcome to the EIB Network.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. I\u2019m as proud as peaches to be talking to you. Thank you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m going to mark this on my calendar. We\u2019ll go out to eat and celebrate: I got to talk to Rush Limbaugh. (giggles) Anyway, I had a question and comment. My question is, what did Hillary mean last night by, she has ‘found her voice\u2019? I still don\u2019t get it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s a slogan that is designed to establish a connection between voters and the audience in that room, and her humility, her humanness. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hmmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It means she was praising the people of New Hampshire for helping her to find herself, to help her right the course, to help her figure out what\u2019s actually necessary to save this country.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s what she meant by it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you. That makes sense.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I mean she\u2019s had her voice for I don\u2019t know how many years —<\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: — and she\u2019s used it as she\u2019s intended to use it all these years. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So it\u2019s just a slogan. It\u2019s a New Age, kind of Oprah slogan that\u2019s designed to connect with certain people and make them swoon.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I think it was supposed to have some impact like that, but I was clueless. My comment and the comment I had is, the last several days people have been calling you wanting you to endorse some candidate or, you know, ‘Don\u2019t be too rough on so-and-so,\u2019 or, you know, ‘Say more positive things about this person.\u2019 I desperately urge you to please continue to scrutinize these candidates, because I really don\u2019t know who I\u2019m voting for. I know the two candidates I will not vote for, but I just feel the weightiness of this coming election, and I just feel like this is the time to really probe where these candidates stand. Personally, I just really urge you to do that, because it just benefits people like me so much.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate that, and I have every intention of standing firmly on my principles on this and following my instincts, as well as my intelligence guided by experience on these matters. I\u2019ll tell you, the way the Republican race is shaping up, if you want a little dart here right between the eyes, the simple fact of the matter is that the Republican roster is filled with people that everybody dislikes something about them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The Republican nominee may be the guy that the Republicans dislike the least.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It may actually end up being that: Who do we dislike the least? And, if it\u2019s that, then it\u2019s gonna transform into, ‘Okay, who do we think can beat the Democrats, you know, or Obama, or Hillary?\u2019 It really is a puzzling situation. Republicans are looking at the field with the negative appraisals outweighing the positives from top to bottom in the field.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. I know. That\u2019s why it\u2019s tough; it\u2019s extremely tough. But a lot of people are talking. I\u2019m checking the e-mail. ‘Rush, I know you\u2019re right a lot, but you\u2019re wrong about these guys, ‘iron my shirt\u2019 protesters being a Clinton setup. You\u2019re just wrong about it.\u2019 Tsk-tsk-tsk. Ladies and gentlemen, don\u2019t doubt me. I don\u2019t mean to sound arrogant here, but if those guys walking around with those signs that said ‘iron my shirt\u2019 were genuine, they would have been Tasered. They would have been roughed up. They would have been yanked out of that studio, that little meeting room, and we would know everything there is to know about these guys! We\u2019d know what talk shows they listen to. We\u2019d know what schools they went to. We would know what kind of trouble they\u2019ve been in. If this were a totally spontaneous event, those guys… You talk about waterboarding? Ha! What would happen to these guys to get the truth out of them, you don\u2019t even want to think about — and we would know it, every bit of it. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Menlo Park, California. Hi, Peggy, thanks for waiting.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Morning. I have been listening this whole time. I\u2019m a 60-year-old hormonal woman with a cold. However, this woman chose this walk. She planned her whole life this way. As far as I understand, she and Bill both talked about this as what they were going to do back when they were in college.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right, that\u2019s right. That\u2019s absolutely right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, so what is she going to do, go overseas to the troops and cry and say, ‘Oh, come on, guys.\u2019 You know what I mean? If she\u2019s going to start pulling this kind of — this wimpy card — I am so embarrassed to be a woman right now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s because you\u2019re thinking and engaged. You\u2019re not caught up in all the emotion of this. Look, as I\u2019ve been saying, she can only do this one time out there, Peggy, and she cannot make a practice of this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I realize that. I know. I mean, if that was me, people would come up and smack me down, it\u2019s like what are you doing up there, woman? You know, last night I got part of what she was saying and I heard everything that you were playing today, and, man, she sure sounds different from when she was in that church down in — where was she? — Arkansas. It\u2019s good to be home and the heavy accent and all that —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That was in Selma, Alabama.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, all of a sudden where\u2019s the accent last night? She doesn\u2019t even have an accent for Texas. And what\u2019s this ‘hard work\u2019 stuff? She sounds like Bush when he first got in office, saying this is really hard work as he goes on vacation every two weeks. <\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughter)<\/p>\n

CALLER: — find the one that I like the best, I mean, you know, that I hate the least when I vote. And that\u2019s the way it\u2019s been for me for years.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s not too inspirational. You\u2019re going to vote for the one you hate the least. (laughter) I understand — (laughter)<\/p>\n

CALLER: On your list, you know? Anyway, that\u2019s all I wanted to say. I wanted to talk with you. Gotta get my ‘Rush in the morning.\u2019<\/p>\n
