RUSH: Well, hubba-hubba. Get this. Bill Clinton says ‘he\u2019s learned a valuable lesson from the dustup over his remarks on the campaign trail — he can promote his wife\u2019s presidential candidacy, but he\u2019s not free to defend her. Clinton also said that everything he said in South Carolina about Illinois Senator Barack Obama was ‘factually accurate,\u2019 but a lot that has been said about what he said is ‘factually inaccurate.” (doing Clinton impression) ‘Yeah, Limbaugh, you understand this because you\u2019ve been in my shoes.\u2019 No, sir, I haven\u2019t. I haven\u2019t been in your shoes or anywhere else. ‘Well, but that doesn\u2019t matter. Look, the mistake that I made is to think that I was a spouse, like any other spouse, that could defend the candidate. I think I can promote Hillary, but not defend her, because I was president. And, Limbaugh, the fact of the matter is I\u2019m so liberated. I got so tired of having to defend her, and now I\u2019m off the hook. But I\u2019m going to make it look like I have learned a lesson. It\u2019s impossible for me to learn a lesson, Limbaugh, I know everything about politics. She\u2019s a doofus. She can see it. I can see it. But I don\u2019t have to defend her anymore. It\u2019s all up to her.\u2019 <\/p>\n

He then said, ‘I have to let her defend herself or have someone else defend her.\u2019 I wondered why he\u2019s been so silent lately. Really. I\u2019ve been doing Google searches on Bill Clinton and there hasn\u2019t been any news the past three or four days.
