RUSH: Have you been listening as you\u2019ve watched the Democrat presidential campaign, that neither Hillary nor Obama are mentioning Iraq anymore? It\u2019s very seldom. Maybe in a debate it might come up. ‘We gotta get out. We gotta get out.\u2019 I told you it wouldn\u2019t be a campaign issue. You remember this? Last fall, I told you and I told the Democrats: It\u2019s not going to be an issue. Traditional issues are going to start to matter: the economy, this sort of thing. From Politico.com today: ‘American public support for the military effort in Iraq has reached a high point unseen since the summer of 2006,\u2019 almost two years ago. This, they say, is ‘a development that promises to reshape the political landscape.\u2019 Hey? Psst? Politico? It was reshaped last fall when I said Iraq wasn\u2019t going to be an issue. ‘According to late February polling conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press…\u2019 It sounds like a communist organization: Poll for the People and the Press; the People\u2019s Democratic Republic of Davis, California. You know, it\u2019s a socialist commune. According to polling by Pew, 53% of Americans ‘now believe ‘the US will ultimately succeed in achieving its goals\u2019 in Iraq. That figure is up from 42 percent in September 2007.\u2019 So that\u2019s up 11 points. That\u2019s why they\u2019re not talking about it. <\/p>\n
