RUSH: I\u2019ll tell you, these guys at Politico.com, they are just all over everything. They have two stories on how Hillary is not paying her bills to all the vendors and people helping her campaign, including over $200,000 in health care premiums for her staff that she hasn\u2019t paid. The Clinton campaign said, ‘We pay all of our bills on time.\u2019 (laughter) <\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s this. This is by Kenneth Vogel at 4:35 this morning they posted it. ‘During his first run for elected office, Barack Obama played a greater role than his aides now acknowledge in crafting liberal stands on gun control, the death penalty and abortion — positions that appear at odds with the more moderate image he has projected during his presidential campaign. The evidence comes from an amended version of an Illinois voter group\u2019s detailed questionnaire, filed under his name during his 1996 bid for a state Senate seat. Late last year, in response to a Politico story about Obama\u2019s answers to the original questionnaire, his aides said he ‘never saw or approved\u2019 the questionnaire. They asserted the responses were filled out by a campaign aide who ‘unintentionally mischaracterize[d] his position.” (laughter) <\/p>\n

‘But a Politico examination determined that Obama was actually interviewed about the issues on the questionnaire by the liberal Chicago nonprofit group that issued it. And it found that Obama — the day after sitting for the interview — filed an amended version of the questionnaire, which appears to contain Obama\u2019s own handwritten notes added to one answer.\u2019 This guy can no more tell the truth than Hillary Clinton can! You know the really mind-blowing thing about this? If I\u2019m a Democrat and I\u2019ve got these two to choose from, I\u2019ve gotta be seriously suicidal. These people can\u2019t tell the truth; they are trying to mask who they are. Obama, our last call said he\u2019s a typical far left-winger. Of course he is. Look at his frickin\u2019 preacher, for crying out loud! For 20 years, folks. This is not hard to figure out. You don\u2019t even have to read between the lines on this. You don\u2019t even have to be able to read the stitches on a fastball. And then here\u2019s another one, you know, Washington Post had this Sunday. ‘Obama Overstates Kennedy\u2019s Role in Helping his Father.\u2019 You remember the Philadelphia speech? <\/p>\n

‘Addressing civil rights activists in Selma a year ago, Obama traced his very existence to the generosity of the Kennedy family, which he said paid for his Kenyan father to travel to America on a student scholarship and thus meet his mother from Kansas. The Camelot connection has become part of the mythology surrounding Obama\u2019s bid for the…\u2019 blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. ‘It\u2019s a touching story, but the key details are either untrue or grossly oversimplified. Contrary to Obama\u2019s claims in speeches in January at American University and in Selma last year, the Kennedy family did not provide the funding for a September \u201959 airlift of 81 Kenyan students to the US that included Obama\u2019s father. According to historical records and interviews with participants, the Kennedys were first approached for support for the program nearly a year later. The family did grant a hundred thousand dollars, most of which went to pay for a second airlift Obama\u2019s dad was not on.\u2019 This is no different than getting off the plane and avoiding snipper fire in Tuzla, Bosnia! These people are just… (sigh) I\u2019m sorry. The word ‘liar,\u2019 I\u2019m getting so sick and tired of saying it. I need a new word. Prevaricator?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, this lying business, we learned from the nineties that people don\u2019t care. People don\u2019t care if politicians lie, especially Democrats. They don\u2019t care. In fact, if the lie sounds good, Democrats want to believe it\u2019s true anyway. Their whole world is a fantasy, anyway. Why not accept what Obama and Hillary say? It\u2019s no big deal.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I\u2019m serious. I think it\u2019s a mistake. I think it\u2019s a mistake to keep focusing on the fact that Clinton and Obama lie. We gotta focus on their liberalism. We learned from the nineties, liberals don\u2019t care if their candidates lie. Obama lies through his teeth constantly, so does Hillary. Hell, folks, even Frank Rich in his column yesterday in which he basically said that Hillary\u2019s Bosnia lie was the last straw, it wasn\u2019t that she lied that bothered him. It\u2019s that she kept it up after it was discovered so blatantly to be a lie. The lie didn\u2019t bother anybody. It\u2019s that she was not smart enough to stop lying when everybody knew it was a lie. Obama, his appeal so far is that nobody cares what Obama says. He\u2019s this blank slate. So I give you an example. By the way, greetings and welcome back, it\u2019s the Rush Limbaugh program here on the Excellence in Broadcasting Network, and the telephone number is 800-282-2882. We\u2019ll get to your phone calls here in an el jiffo. Obama gave an economic speech last week, and in that speech, he lectured everybody on the ethic of greed in the home lending industry. <\/p>\n

Yet he does that while buying his own home that he couldn\u2019t afford. He took advantage of the help of Tony Rezko, a racketeer, and his wife. I don\u2019t think Tony Rezko\u2019s ever been known for his ethics. I mean, that was one of the themes of Obama\u2019s big economic speech last week: greed and ethics in the home buying markets. It\u2019s like George Will said yesterday on This Week. They all talk about ‘predatory lending,\u2019 and George Will said, ‘Define it.\u2019 George Will is up against four liberals if you count Stephanopoulos, the host, in the roundtable — and the liberals kept talking about ‘predatory lending,\u2019 and Will said, ‘Define it.\u2019 The point was, that George Will was making, how come all of you liberals want to make all these borrowers out to be absolute dunces who haven\u2019t the slightest idea what an ARM is? What does Adjustable Rate Mortgage mean? You go out and you take an Adjustable Rate Mortgage, you are being told, ‘It can change.\u2019 Your interest rate might go up. When it did, everybody was (crying), ‘It\u2019s not fair! I can\u2019t afford my house payment. (crying) I would like…\u2019 Predatory lending. <\/p>\n

So the people who took a risk and it went south on them, are now portrayed as the victims of predatory lending. What\u2019s predatory lending? Not one liberal would define it when George Will was asking them about it. So it\u2019s the same thing here. ‘Ethic of greed\u2019 in the home lending industry, as though the borrower has no responsibility whatsoever as far as Obama is concerned. The frightening thing is that the American people love this. They love being exempt from responsible in things like that, quite a lot of them do, love being victims. They love being thought of as being taken advantage of. Go back to our monologue, brilliant monologue third hour on Friday. Thirty years ago, what were you proud of in America? You were practically proud of everything. Today what are you proud of? Not much! You hate the financial markets. You hate Big Oil. You hate Big Pharmaceutical. You hate Big Retail. You hate the US Military. Not you, but people have been conditioned for 30 years to despise and hate the institutions and traditions that define our greatness. <\/p>\n

They hate the insurance industry, hate the health industry. Everybody\u2019s a crook. Everybody is stealing from the little guy. Everybody\u2019s making it impossible for the little guy to be happy. You talk about greed and unethical behavior? There\u2019s plenty of it in the way Obama bought his house — in my opinion, anyway. So where does he come off talking about greed or ethics involving home loans and purchases, when he got sweetheart deals? As did his pastor! He went out and bought $1.6 million house for the old preacher and a $10 million line of credit. What\u2019s that $10 million line of credit for, and who gets it? So it\u2019s going to be interesting. We gotta learn the lessons of the past. Liberal Democrats don\u2019t care that their candidates lie. When they start caring is when their candidates get caught and keep lying and making it tough to get away with the lie. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
