CALLER: Thank you, Rush. How you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine, sir, very much. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m probably one of the 50 remaining Republicans in Reading, Pennsylvania, and, uh, my wife and I have actually both switched our registration to Democrats, but here\u2019s — here\u2019s the twist today. And a lot of your criticism was to blame. We\u2019re actually doing this to vote for Obama. You know, you\u2019ve gone out of your way to attack Reverend Wright, who, granted, he — he has a very firebrand style but, you know, he\u2019s been preaching for 40 years, and the most anybody could find was — was three sound bites that some people consider offensive, and biblically he\u2019s head-on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ve been doing what I\u2019ve been doing for 20 years.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know, and I\u2019ve been listening to you probably for that long.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughs) You really want me to believe that I made you mad enough with this criticism of Obama, that as a Republican you changed your party registration from Republican to Democrat to vote for Obama because of me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, now —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mostly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — if you loved Obama so much, why did you have to wait for me to get involved here before you switched your party registration?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I also think he\u2019s more beatable than Hillary. Out of — out of the two evils, you know, if one of those should win, I definitely don\u2019t want Hillary.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. I\u2019m confused, Jeff. You said you like Obama. You like Jeremiah Wright. You think he\u2019s being criticized a bit too much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I didn\u2019t say I like him. I said you\u2019re going out of your way to attack him, and it almost seems — and I can\u2019t stand her, but it almost seems– like Joy Behar\u2019s statement of you supporting Hillary you\u2019re guaranteed four more years of ammo for your show. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, now, now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It actually is (garbled) credibility.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re giving yourself away here! You\u2019re a smarter guy than this. None of this makes any sense. Jeff, I have to tell you: I think you\u2019re a seminar caller. Because the point of your call is to blame me for rotten things, blame me for what you\u2019re doing. I haven\u2019t been any harder on Jeremiah Wright than a lot of people have, but this is funny. ‘Yeah, Rush, I\u2019m registering. I\u2019m changing from Republican to Democrat but that\u2019s to vote for Obama because of your criticism of Obama. Joy Behar is right! You just want somebody in the White House to give you ammo.\u2019 If you\u2019ve listened to this program for 20 years, Jeff, you know that that\u2019s not why this program takes place. On this program, we don\u2019t care who wins elections. This program doesn\u2019t depend on it. My success doesn\u2019t depend on who wins elections. I\u2019m not trying to engineer any victory here for any reason other than the future of the country. By the way, we\u2019ve finished some research here.
