CALLER: I wanted to point out the Democrats are running on, and appearing to have some success at promoting Medicare for all. And they\u2019re also telling everyone that the Republicans are going to take away your preexisting conditions. Both are false. They\u2019re lies. They\u2019re running on Medicare for all, which is impossible. It would be Medicaid for all, sir. And the Republicans, they have never taken away preexisting conditions.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It\u2019s like the Republicans have never kicked seasoned citizens out of their houses, either. They\u2019ve never taken away their Social Security, and yet the left promised Democrat voters for 50 years that that\u2019s what Republicans were gonna do. Now they\u2019re doing it with preexisting conditions. You\u2019re right.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Fear. They\u2019ve run on fear, and making promises they cannot keep and they don\u2019t keep.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, they don\u2019t intend to.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Just promises they cannot keep, and they\u2019re selling something that isn\u2019t even viable, because Medicare requires the private sector insurance. Without the private sector insurance, there\u2019s no Medicare. There\u2019s Medicaid for all. Great example, the veterans program.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, but, see, what you\u2019re illustrating is something that we\u2019ve been talking about today, the mal- or ill-education of people since… Well, I don\u2019t know what you want to… I peg it to the 1970s, early seventies, late sixties. But essentially facts and reality have been replaced by what people feel. If you feel it, it is. If you feel it, it\u2019s right. If you feel it and want it, you\u2019re justified. The facts are irrelevant. The facts, in fact, can gum it up!<\/p>\n
Facts can confuse you and get you mad and you tune it all out, and so if you feel that a big, bad company shouldn\u2019t deny medical coverage to somebody who\u2019s sick, then you are a big, bad, mean company. And I\u2019m not gonna vote for anybody that supports this big, bad, mean company. So you tell this person, you\u2019re talking about preexisting conditions, “Damn right!” Well, let me ask you a question.<\/p>\n
You don\u2019t have insurance, and your house catches fire, and you go try to buy insurance for your house. Do you think somebody should sell it? (impression) \u201cNo, that would be silly.\u201d Well, same thing with preexisting conditions. (impression) \u201cWe\u2019re talking lives here. We\u2019re talking health here. Everybody has a guaranteed right to good health, and everybody has a guaranteed right to medical care, and everybody has a guaranteed right to a fine home, and everybody has…\u201d<\/p>\n

And this is what they\u2019ve been raised believing \u2019cause that feels good. So they end up believing it. Anybody standing in the way of it is a mean, dirty, rotten SOB. So all the Democrats have to do is go out and tell people, (impression) “Republicans want to take away your health care! If you\u2019re sick and you\u2019ve got cancer… If you\u2019re sick, you\u2019ve got some other disease… Republicans want to take away your health care!”<\/p>\n
It doesn\u2019t matter whether it\u2019s right or wrong or lie or not. People say, “Oh, my God. Oh, my God! Jeez, I can\u2019t let that happen.” Democrats say, “Vote for us. We will keep you safe. We\u2019ll make sure everybody gets health care. We\u2019ll make sure everybody gets whatever they need.” Who would you vote for in that scenario, given what you think? I know the Republicans are up against it here, but I just don\u2019t think the Democrats are getting away with this stuff as easily as they used to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
