CALLER: Hi, Rush. I\u2019m calling because I wanted to get some clarification on a comment that you made yesterday at the end of the first hour.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, ma\u2019am.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You made the comment, um, I think one of the call — your callers that called in, you were saying that you were hoping for riots if the Democrats choose Hillary over Obama, and you even kind of sang your statement to the tune of I\u2019m Dreaming of a White Christmas, or did you mean a white country? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, ho-ho-ho-ho-ho! (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: What — what exactly did you mean by those statements yesterday?<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Because I feel like all Americans, the American people want is what\u2019s best for this country.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, they don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Why do you have to be such a hate-filled comment from you —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, now, Lisa?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and other radio hosts?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Lisa, there\u2019s nothing but love for people, care and concern for people.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It didn\u2019t sound that way yesterday, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, picking a selective moment. How often do you listen to the program, Lisa?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I listened almost every day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You do?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I do. So I was a bit surprised and must say shocked that you were so blatant with that comment, and you even sang it. I was like, ‘My goodness!\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ve made the comment before.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Who wishes for riots? Who would want that to happen in this country?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Who wishes for riots? I didn\u2019t get the ball rolling. It is Democrats like Al Sharpton who have warned that there will be! <\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Lisa?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughs)<\/p>\n

RUSH: You need to be calling Reverend Sharpton and some of these other people who are saying if they don\u2019t get —<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I don\u2019t need to be calling Reverend Sharpton. I\u2019m calling the gentlemen who made the comment yesterday and sang to the tune of I\u2019m Dreaming of a White Christmas. What — what — what was that about, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: It was about nothing. You are taking —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, you\u2019re an intelligent man. I don\u2019t think anything —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Lisa?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — you do is about nothing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Lisa?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Everything you say and do on your radio show has a purpose and has a meaning.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but you know what?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ve been listening long enough —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Lisa? <\/p>\n

CALLER: — to pick up on that, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What\u2019s happening here is that your own racism and your own projection of racism is forcing you to conclude something<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have never wished for riots in this country.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You are reading my mind. You are proving — <\/p>\n

CALLER: All I want is the best for the American people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — that between the two of us, you —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m tired of four-dollar gas prices.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — are the racist.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m tired of truck drivers not being able to get to deliver goods. I\u2019m tired of people getting kicked out of their homes. I\u2019m tired. I just want what\u2019s best for this country for everybody: white, black, Chinese, whatever —<\/p>\n

RUSH: So do I, and that is why —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and I have never —<\/p>\n

RUSH: So do I.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — wish for riots.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So do I. So do I. See, there you go: ‘everybody: white, blacks…\u2019 I see Americans; you see colors and races.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. I didn\u2019t say I wished for white — was it White Christmas or white country, Rush? Which one?<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Lisa?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I wish you would play those comments back and let your listeners hear that again.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I\u2019m not going to. I\u2019ll sing it again. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I know you —<\/p>\n

RUSH: (singing) ‘I\u2019m dreaming of a ri-ots.\u2019 Are you happy now? <\/p>\n

CALLER: (silence)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, what\u2019s in my mind when I\u2019m doing that? You tell me, mind reader.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I hope your listeners — <\/p>\n

RUSH: (singing) ‘I\u2019m dreaming of a riot.\u2019 You tell me.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Think about what you want to teach your children, listeners out there.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Tell me what\u2019s in my mind!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Why are you listening and following behind someone who\u2019s — who\u2019s acting like this and singing like this? Is this really how you want to raise our children.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You said you wanted to hear it again. I\u2019m being a nice guy! You said play it back. I don\u2019t need to play it back. I can sing it again. Yesterday I didn\u2019t have the melody right. That\u2019s why I gave up on it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s like you — you — you revel in the division of this country.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is in your mind, Lisa?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Republican, Democrat, we — Americans, we need to do away with both parties and just really start from scratch and think about what\u2019s best with this country.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. Nope. You know what we need to do away with?<\/p>\n

CALLER: And all that would do is put Rush out of business, with his hate-filled discussions everyday for three or four hours a day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s no hate on this program. We need to put liberals out of business, Lisa. We need to put mush-minds like you out of business, people who walk around —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Why am I a mush-mind?<\/p>\n

RUSH: — prejudiced and biased.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, why are you resorting to name-calling, sir?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You have been nothing but mean-spirited on this program —<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: — and you think that\u2019s what I am? You are the —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You want the gas prices to come down.<\/p>\n

CALLER: All I\u2019m doing is asking for clarification on your comments.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Can I talk to you —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — for clarification on your comment.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Can I talk to you about gas prices for a minute, Lisa?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Can I get clarifications? <\/p>\n

RUSH: No.<\/p>\n

CALLER: What did you mean yesterday when you made those comments? That\u2019s what my call is about.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You have moved on from that, and I\u2019ve answered that — and I\u2019ve even sung the tune for you again. You already know what it was about because you\u2019re a mind reader! You\u2019ve already told my audience and me that it was I\u2019m dreaming of a ‘white country.\u2019 Do you realize how ridiculous, offensive, and racist that is for you to say —<\/p>\n

CALLER: You said you were wishing for riots.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — especially if you claim to listen to this program?<\/p>\n

CALLER: And you said I hope they burn their cars or something to that effect.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Didn\u2019t you say that, or — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, for somebody who claims to listen —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — something to the effect of, I hope their burn their cars — (crosstalk)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Take her down! Somebody that listens to this program every day, you have proved that you don\u2019t. You have called here to filibuster, and you are part of an effort. Folks, how many calls like this have you had today, Snerdley? Three or four. These seminar callers are out on this topic today. I said, ‘Give me the best one,\u2019 which obviously he gave me a woman who doesn\u2019t want to talk. Now, let\u2019s talk about gas prices. She said about the gas prices; she wants gas prices back down to four bucks. So do the Republicans. ‘House Republican leaders on Tuesday challenged Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to release a plan to lower gas prices that they say Democrats touted when they were in the minority. ‘Two years ago this week, you stated that House Democrats had a ‘commonsense plan\u2019 to ‘lower gas prices,” the letter said. ‘In light of the skyrocketing gasoline prices affecting working families and every sector of our … economy, we are writing today to respectfully request that you reveal this ‘commonsense plan\u2019 so we can begin work on responsible solutions to help ease this strain.” Republicans are getting some gonads lately. Call Al Sharpton, Lisa. He\u2019s the one that established the whole concept of trouble brewing in Denver if he didn\u2019t get his way.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: I can\u2019t tell you the number of people who have called me over the course of the recent past, months or so, and she said, ‘Rush, I\u2019m thinking about Obama. If Obama wins, doesn\u2019t that mean that there\u2019s no more racism in America? Doesn\u2019t that mean it\u2019s over?\u2019 Oh, no! Just the opposite. You have to understand that racial discrimination is a business in this country to people like the Reverend Sharpton and the Reverend Jackson, and any criticism of a black president is going to be said to be racist! <\/p>\n

You can count on it, folks. If you heard that call — if you didn\u2019t, if you\u2019re just joining us; we had a call from a woman named Lisa in Atlanta who was tarring me as a racist when she was the actual racist, because of my desire to see the Democrat convention break down exactly as it did in 1968 in Chicago with Democrats beating up on Democrats in the streets. Mayor Daley\u2019s cops, his thugs went out there and were attacking Democrats, and the SDS was there and all the anti-war crowd — the Jerry Rubins and the Tom Haydens — they were starting fires and so forth, and the Democrats sent Mayor Daley\u2019s thugs out there to beat \u2019em upside the head! There have been countless commentators and columnists and pundits throughout the Drive-By Media, lamenting the fact that if the superdelegates don\u2019t give this nomination to Obama that they\u2019re going to have to a repeat of \u201968 in Chicago. Now, what the hell was that? What happened in \u201968 in Chicago? We all know it. <\/p>\n

You also heard with that call an attempt, just like is being attempted in North Carolina with their ad using Jeremiah Wright, the Obama faction and the Drive-By Media faction doing everything they can to stop any criticism whatsoever of Obama on the basis that it\u2019s racist — and they\u2019re going to level the charge of racism at any critic in an attempt to intimidate and silence the critic. I will not be. I will not be silenced; I\u2019m not going to be intimidated by this. This radio program is the Straight Talk Express, and it is quite possible — and I don\u2019t say this with any ego, but based on what we\u2019re hearing from the RNC and the McCain camp; it\u2019s quite possible that the real presidential campaign will happen on this program and the campaign for president that\u2019s been run by the candidates is going to be all this flowery lingo that doesn\u2019t amount to anything, the so-called serious and civic debate on these so-called issues that we face. But in case anybody thinks I\u2019m just making all this up out of thin air, let\u2019s go back to March 6th this year. The National Action Network president, the Reverend Al Sharpton was on The O\u2019Reilly Factor, and O\u2019Reilly said, ‘Barack Obama\u2019s got more popular, more elected delegates. Come convention time, he\u2019s denied it because of the deals and the superdelegates. What do you do, Sharpton? You take to the streets? What do you do?\u2019<\/p>\n

SHARPTON: If he is denied the selection of the nominee by superdelegates —<\/p>\n

O\u2019REILLY: Right.<\/p>\n

SHARPTON: — making backroom deals, not the by the voters? well, you not only would see people like me demonstrating, you may see us talking about whether or not we can support that ticket.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, what does demonstrating mean? The Reverend Sharpton is the one who put this notion out there. This was not the first time. I think when he said it somewhere, O\u2019Reilly — who has guests on his show — went out and got Sharpton to repeat this on his show, and therefore the Reverend Sharpton put it out there. I\u2019m just trying to encourage Reverend Sharpton. Now, Reverend Sharpton, I know that you have agents that listen to this program, And I want to remind you of something, sir. You said that if Obama is denied the selection of the nominee by superdelegates making backroom deals, not by the voters, well you not only — Reverend Sharpton, you better prepare yourself because that\u2019s exactly what\u2019s going to happen. Whoever wins this is going to be picked by the superdelegates and the way this thing is shaping up the voters are not going to have had anything to do with it. Neither one of your candidates, Reverend Sharpton, can win this nomination via the voters. It\u2019s just that simple. <\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know how this is going to end up; I don\u2019t know who\u2019s going to have the advantage in the popular vote. When you start divvying up electoral votes in these states in the primaries, Hillary is going to own that because Obama\u2019s has lost seven of the ten most populous states. You Democrats had better come to grips with something: The supers are the ones that are going to pick your nominee. The voters will not, and the superdelegates are actually — as somebody in a German newspaper said; I have the analysis here somewhere. The equivalent of murder is going to be committed by the superdelegates. He\u2019s saying it. The equivalent of they\u2019re going to murder somebody, and they\u2019re going to murder somebody\u2019s supporters here because the Democratic process will not have been a factor once the Democrats choose a nominee. Sharpton said it here. ‘If he\u2019s denied the selection by superdelegates making backroom deals, not by the voters, well, you not only see people like my demonstrating…\u2019 I, El Rushbo, rest my case. <\/p>\n

Now, I want to remind you one more time: These superdelegates, they got a lot of things to think about. It\u2019s not just who they think could best win the election. That clearly is a factor, but who are these supers? Well, they\u2019re elected themselves. They are grand pooh-bahs. Federal, state, local level. These are big-time elected Democrats. Some of them are union delegates. Their fortunes are going to be tied to whoever they pick. If they pick somebody who can\u2019t win, then they are going to be picking somebody that can\u2019t help them win; that might drag them down. They\u2019re gonna want to pick a winner not just for the sake of the party, but for their own personal sake. This thing hadn\u2019t even — you know, Howard Dean wants this thing over by June 15th. You know, the pot\u2019s not even boiling yet, and people are already feeling the heat; people are getting scalded. We\u2019re still in the effervescent stage. This has not yet boiled over, but it\u2019s going to. <\/p>\n

This was just less than a half a month ago that Reverend Sharpton is promising the Democrats he\u2019s going to take to the streets and demonstrate. We all know… (laughing) I think Al Sharpton has done some of his best work in the protest march. He\u2019s very effective at it. We\u2019ve done many parodies here of Reverend Sharpton in that mode because he\u2019s talented at it and we know where it can lead is and so he\u2019s the one that put this out in the public domain, and that is that. Let me see if I can find this guy from Germany. Yes. Look at some of these headlines: ‘Obama Problem is Older Voters.\u2019 Her we have Der Spiegel. Here it is. ‘Will the Democrats Commit Political Suicide?\u2019 by Gabor Steingart, at Der Spiegel. ‘Democratic voters just can\u2019t make up their minds between [Obama and Hillary]. In Pennsylvania, they denied him victory but spared her defeat. It will be the job of the superdelegates to commit political murder — but will it mean suicide for the party? <\/p>\n

‘After the confetti has been shaken out of the hair and the party balloons have deflated, what is left from Tuesday\u2019s election night is a disturbing message: There is nothing to celebrate. The winner is the loser. But the loser is not the winner. Clinton\u2019s victory was not big enough to snatch the nomination… But neither was his star power enough to woo the voters in the center. It seems the race is jinxed: He was handed a defeat when he needed a victory, and she secured a victory when only an improbable triumph would have helped her. Barring a miracle, Clinton\u2019s role at the Democratic Party convention in Denver in August will be limited to guest speaker. But Obama will go into the actual presidential election badly damaged. On the night of Obama\u2019s first primary win, in the state of Iowa, this columnist [Gabor Steingart] wrote: ‘(Obama) has scant hope of reaching the White House. He\u2019s too young, too inexperienced, too vague, and for many Americans, too black. <\/p>\n

‘His magic words about the era of change, of hope, of an America he will unite — all that will evaporate like morning mist.” He was right. ‘This prediction was confirmed in Pennsylvania. The euphoria over the 46-year-old senator has until today only gripped 50 percent of Democratic voters — who make up only a third of registered voters. The Obama flame burns, but only in parts of society. Obama receives more goodwill than actual votes. And his press is better than his real situation. … [T]he voter groups which are decisive for any president distrust people who claim to be miracle workers. The union officials clapped, but many of its members lowered their heads pensively. These people want new jobs, but they don\u2019t want new government debt. They want leadership, but Obama is only flashing his wallet. … [H]e is a party favorite in times of dwindling party loyalty. He excites the active members of the Democratic Party, the officials, the young people and the university graduates, not to mention that part of the party — a part which should not be underestimated — which is to be found within newspapers and TV stations. …<\/p>\n

‘After Tuesday, the situation for the Democratic Party is no easier. The party seems to be cursed in this primary season, as if Obama\u2019s supporters and Clinton\u2019s fans had sealed a diabolical pact. They refuse him victory but spare her defeat. But this game is approaching its terrible end. The superdelegates, who are independent from the party base, will have to commit a political murder in the coming months. Will it be Obama or Clinton? For the party, the decision could amount to political suicide.\u2019 Again, this is Gabor Steingart in Der Spiegel, based in Washington — and of course play this sound bite, number 27 again. After hearing all of this from Gabor Steingart at Der Spiegel, Bill O\u2019Reilly asked Reverend Sharpton if Obama is denied this, what do you do?<\/p>\n
