RUSH: Up next on the audio sound bite roster, as the Drive-Bys continue to try to figure out Operation Chaos: Friday night, CNN\u2019s ‘Election Center\u2019 the hostette is Campbell Brown, and she spoke with Arianna Huffington of the Huffing and Puffington Post — also with Tara Wall of the Washington Times — about the Democrat primary. Now, this is worth it, just to hear Arianna Huffington of the Huffing and Puffington Post to say ‘Operation Chaos.\u2019 Normally you need a Greek interpreter here to understand what Arianna is saying. She sounds like a Bond girl in this piece. The question from Campbell Brown: ‘Arianna, you believe there are some troublemakers out there, don\u2019t you?\u2019<\/p>\n

HUFFINGTON: Well, it\u2019s not really a matter of opinion or belief. It\u2019s a matter of listening to Rush Limbaugh, who has launched Operation Chaos, and he suspended it for a day while he thought maybe Obama was in real trouble, but he\u2019s reinstated it; and he\u2019s urging, uh, his Dittoheads to go out and vote for Hillary Clinton, because he wants to prolong, eh, this primary, he wants ideally a win for Hillary Clinton, and that so — that is — that could have an interesting impact on the race.<\/p>\n

WALL: I don\u2019t know too many self-respecting Republicans that are actually going to vote for Hillary Clinton. I mean I think some of that has gotta be a little bit of dog and pony just to make a point.<\/p>\n

HUFFINGTON: Well, you know, Rush Limbaugh has a lot of followers. They may not be —<\/p>\n

WALL: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

HUFFINGTON: — self-respecting or respected by others, but nevertheless they could very well go and do whatever Rush Limbaugh wants them to do. They could be challenged. Indiana has some quirky rules about challenging people who do not vote for the other party in good faith, so…it could be a long time before we know the results.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There she\u2019s referring to these rules that say Indiana can challenge people who don\u2019t vote for the other party in good faith. (interruption) You want to hear the first part of this? Mr. Snerdley, the official program observer, has asked for the first part of this sound bite. So we can do that, yes. Here is Arianna Huffington responding to the question about some troublemakers being out there.<\/p>\n

(laughing) (doing Huffington impression) ‘Operation Chaos.\u2019 Arianna sounds like a Bond girl, Ernst Stavro Blofeld\u2019s mistress. Moving on to Friday night, PMSNBC, Race for the White House: David Gregory and syndicated columnist Tony Blankley have this exchange about Operation Chaos.<\/p>\n

GREGORY: Conservative radio\u2019s Rush Limbaugh wants a replay of Ohio urging voters to vote for Clinton. Tony, how real is it? Will it have an impact?<\/p>\n

BLANKLEY: Look, I think Rush\u2019s Operation Chaos has been fun. I think he\u2019s getting — turning out some votes. I don\u2019t think this has been an election where that number of votes has been decisive. You know, in Europe this kind of strategic voting happens all the time. We don\u2019t see it much in the United States, but it\u2019s very typical in France and Germany.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Once again, setting the trends, cutting edge: Rush Limbaugh, the EIB Network and Operation Chaos. John Harwood, who\u2019s at — where does this guy work? He\u2019s at CNBC now? I guess he used to be at the Wall Street Journal. This is the same show, Race for the White House, with David Gregory, also Eugene Robinson is on this exchange about Operation Chaos.<\/p>\n

ROBINSON: And as far as Operation Chaos is concerned, I — I don\u2019t think we\u2019re going to be able to tell at the end of the day because if Hillary Clinton wins, people kind of expect her to win.<\/p>\n

GREGORY: Yeah.<\/p>\n

ROBINSON: So will the Republicans have made a difference? I\u2019m not sure.<\/p>\n

GREGORY: All right, Harwood? R-really quick, John. <\/p>\n

HARWOOD: David, it\u2019s pretty clear from state — <\/p>\n

GREGORY: Yeah.<\/p>\n

HARWOOD: It\u2019s pretty clear from state after state that if Rush Limbaugh turns out independents and Republicans, he\u2019s turning out Barack Obama\u2019s vote. And you know what the chances are that this convention in Denver is going to be like Chicago \u201968?<\/p>\n

GREGORY: (chuckle)<\/p>\n

HARWOOD: Zero.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh-h-h-h-ho-ho! That was John Harwood of CNBC. So now they\u2019re trying to tell themselves that Operation Chaos voters are actually voting Obama. Fine! Whatever they think. I don\u2019t care what they think. Neither should you Operation Chaos operatives. The objective has been achieved. Our objectives in fact have been far surpassed. We are in the midst of total chaos, as you can hear listening to these sound bites. (interruption) Why would he say what? Why…? (interruption) Oooh, because…. (interruption) Why would he say that I\u2019m turning out Obama? They\u2019ve got some polling. They have some polling data that can show anything, and there are some Republicans voting for Obama. There\u2019s no question. But they are not Operation Chaos operatives. See that\u2019s the thing. They\u2019re all missing that this would have been over long ago were it not for Operation Chaos — actually, they haven\u2019t missed that. They know it. But it\u2019s like we told you way back at the get go. At their news budgeting meetings every morning, these Drive-Bys — be it at newspapers or cable networks — they are struggling with how to talk about the phenomenon of Operation Chaos without actually giving it any credit. Nor do they wish to give me any credit. Another sound bite. This is later on MSNBC, a different program; that wacko program at eight o\u2019clock. Eugene Robinson gets a question from the host, Olbermann. ‘There has to be a reason Rush Limbaugh wants Clinton to be the nominee and not Obama.\u2019<\/p>\n

ROBINSON: There are Democrats who thought that this is some sort of double-secret reverse psychology and they really want the Democrats to nominate Obama so — because they can tear him and they don\u2019t want to run against Hillary Clinton. I tend to take \u2019em at their word. You know, otherwise why would they be campaigning, uh, on her behalf? Uh, but, um, you know, maybe I\u2019m wrong. Maybe there is double super-secret reverse psychology going on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That you say Eugene Robinson, a columnist for the Washington Post. They have themselves twisted pretzel-like trying to understand Operation Chaos. Now they think there\u2019s a double-reverse psychology going on, that Operation Chaos commanders (i.e., me) secretly want Obama; and that by telling our operatives to vote Hillary, they\u2019re actually voting Obama. Secret decoder rings! Secret orders being given over wireless devices that can\u2019t be tracked, any number of things. Who knows what they think is going on. But it is clear that throughout the Drive-By Media, ladies and gentlemen, Operation Chaos is alive and well, and they are confused trying to understand it. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
