How are you?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: My gosh, I can\u2019t believe that I\u2019m actually on the radio.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I understand how you feel.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: First of all I\u2019d like to say, it\u2019s a privilege to be able to speak with you.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I understand that, too.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Longtime listener.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I actually started listening about around Clinton\u2019s presidency. I was really young at the time, and, you know, I wasn\u2019t as well versed as I am thanks to you.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: The question that I have is, is there anything different that you would have done based on the current situation. Looking back, can you see anything strategically that you would have done differently based on the current political arena now?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: What do you mean? Done differently when?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Gosh, I don\u2019t know, probably toward the middle part, whenever everything really started kind of to change &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Middle part of what?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: &#8212; for Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You mean the primaries, I\u2019m guessing?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes. Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: (laughing) I guess we\u2019re gonna be on this theme all day, too: I goofed up. I screwed up. I\u2019m a wimp. I\u2019m a coward.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Noooo! No, no way, no way.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I didn\u2019t do it right. <\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I would never say that. <\/p>\n<p>RUSH: It\u2019s all my fault. (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Excuse me. No, no, no. I would never say that.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Look, it\u2019s actually a question I want to take. I\u2019m coming up here on a hard break.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: But you keep your radio on, and I\u2019ll answer the question when we come back. Thanks, Duane. It\u2019s a very good question. You\u2019re very nice, and very wise comments you made.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125108.Par.4584.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"204\" height=\"210\" class=\"alignright\"\/>RUSH: Oh, my gosh, that\u2019s right! Oh, gee! Thank you for reminding me. I totally forgot about it \u2019cause we had that &#8216;Barack the &#8216;Magic Negro&#8221; story. I didn\u2019t answer the guy\u2019s question. The guy wanted to know what, if anything, I would have done differently during the primaries. Given that we sit here as we sit here, what would I have done differently? That was not purposeful. This is just who I am. I am always focusing forward. I don\u2019t look back. I\u2019m not reflective, and so half the time&#8230; When I go home tonight, I won\u2019t remember 90% of what\u2019s on this program today \u2019til I go to the website and check it. It\u2019s just the way I am. I mean, I have a great memory, but&#8230; It was not purposeful, is the point. What would I have done differently? These &#8216;if\u2019 questions&#8230; &#8216;If\u2019 is for children. I have no regrets. Nothing I would have done differently, because we couldn\u2019t tell what the outcome was going to be then. It\u2019s sort of unfair, actually, to go back and say, &#8216;Well, if I\u2019d have known then what I know now, I woulda&#8230;\u2019<\/p>\n<p>I think the question was oriented towards, &#8216;Would you have supported somebody more fervently if you had known that McCain was going to be the Republican nominee?\u2019 Probably not, folks, not in a flat-out endorsement way because in primaries I don\u2019t do that, and I never have. The only time I did &#8212; there\u2019s an exception to this &#8212; the only time I did was 2000. Well, no, actually I didn\u2019t even do it in 2000. I just got so mad at McCain in 2000 that I was expressing my anger over what had happened there in South Carolina, plus I was livid with Senator McCain for going out and actively seeking Democrats and independents during the Republican primary in 2000. The one time I actually did an endorsement, a flat-out endorsement was in 1992, endorsed Buchanan over Bush 41; knowing full well Buchanan wasn\u2019t going to get the gig. It was just to keep conservatism alive in the Republican primaries and in the presidential campaign. But, no, and I\u2019m not trying to fudge this.
