RUSH: So Politico has a story today out about how the Democrats are trying to rein in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>.\u00a0 Now, you may not know; she lobbied and actively sought a seat on the House Ways and Means Committee.\u00a0 Now, Pelosi and her leadership team decide who gets what committee assignment, and they shot her down.\u00a0 I mean, they made it clear that she is nowhere near being qualified to be on Ways and Means.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Ways and Means Committee is where every spending bill originates, by law.\u00a0 House Ways and Means Committee.\u00a0 Every spending bill constitutional has to start in the House of Representatives, and no matter who has the idea for a bill, it\u2019s gotta go to Ways and Means, and it has to come out of there.\u00a0 A position on that committee is, therefore, very important, and every donor wants a piece of you.\u00a0 You\u2019ve got more people trying to influence you on that committee.\u00a0 The next big committee in both the House and…<\/p>\n

Since there is no Ways and Means Committee in the Senate, it would be Appropriations.\u00a0 Those are the two committees in both House and Senate where the money is allocated, where it starts, where it\u2019s authorized and then allocated. Appropriated.\u00a0 So if you\u2019re on the Appropriations Committee in either place, you are top dog, and Ways and Means is the king.\u00a0 They put her on the Finance Committee, it looks like.\u00a0 Now, the Finance Committee… (chuckles) There could be as many as 60 members of that committee, Republicans and Democrats.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Finance Committee oversees Wall Street.\u00a0 The Finance Committee oversees the banks.\u00a0 The Finance Committee oversees financial institutions, essentially.\u00a0 So that\u2019s where Ocasio-Cortez is going.\u00a0 The Politico story is all about how the Democrat leadership thinks that she\u2019s an upstart, that she\u2019s uppity, that she doesn\u2019t know her place, and she\u2019s asking to start at the top.\u00a0 And they are… I\u2019m just gonna tell you: The Democrat Party, I think, is in heap big trouble.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think they\u2019re unified.<\/p>\n

Can somebody tell me what they stand for?\u00a0 Do not misunderstand me to be saying that they are weak right now.\u00a0 They\u2019re beatable is what I\u2019m saying.\u00a0 They don\u2019t have… What do they stand for?\u00a0 What do the Democrats stand for?\u00a0 They stand for things they cannot tell you.\u00a0 Their sole reason for existence, as far as anybody can tell, is get rid of or stop Donald Trump.\u00a0 That\u2019s it.\u00a0 That\u2019s what they have getting their donations based on, that\u2019s what their business is focused on: Destroying Donald Trump.\u00a0 They are absent a governing agenda.<\/p>\n

Look at their list of presidential candidates!<\/p>\n

The ones that really have a chance at winning it are old — and I mean, old — white guys.\u00a0 It\u2019s so bad that Joe Biden looked at the presidential field and said, “This is so hopeless, I have the best chance here.”\u00a0 If that\u2019s the case… You\u2019ve got Biden, you\u2019ve got Bernie Sanders. With all of these Millennials and all these young people, look at that field running for the Democrat presidential nomination and aside from the Kamala Harrises and Elizabeth Warrens and the others, it is a bunch of aged white guys among a party that stands for stripping white people of every vestige of power that they\u2019ve got.<\/p>\n

Blatant hypocrisy.\u00a0 But they are so poisoned with this hatred and rage for Trump that they are splitting apart.\u00a0 They\u2019re losing this wall fight, and I think they know it.\u00a0 They\u2019re losing it in the court of public opinion where normally they don\u2019t care. \u00a0But they have to here because their primary intent is to depopularize Trump, strip his base out of him, strip his base away, get his approval numbers down.\u00a0 They can\u2019t.\u00a0 They cannot intercept, interrupt Trump\u2019s popularity — meaning they cannot replace him in popularity among American citizens.<\/p>\n

Not a good position, especially when you are like them and think that everybody in the country hates Trump, that everybody despises Trump, that everybody made a mistake voting for Trump. The people that voted for him made a mistake, they\u2019re all embarrassed, and yet they can\u2019t capitalize on that?\u00a0 I\u2019m telling you, they are a mess.\u00a0 They are a mess ideologically.\u00a0 They are a mess organizationally.\u00a0 They are not structured and built for the future.<\/p>\n

The only thing they\u2019ve got going for \u2019em is this demographic shift and the ongoing dependency and horrible education that they have overseen in this country.\u00a0 That\u2019s what\u2019s saving \u2019em, not what they believe and not who they are.\u00a0 What\u2019s saving them is that they have created a voting base that has nowhere else to go — and a media, of course. A media that is making sure those people don\u2019t know of any other options.\u00a0 I\u2019m sorry, that\u2019s not a foundation for long-term survival.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
