RUSH: To Lawndale, North Carolina, thriving metropolis, Jason, welcome to the EIB Network, sir. You are up first today.<\/p>\n

CALLER: How you doing, Rush? Thanks for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m just calling in, I had a lot of questions about John McCain\u2019s past, and tried to talk with other people and just been put on hold for an hour or two and never got around to — when I was watching the convention, when he referred to ‘they broke me,\u2019 I\u2019ve done a little research in John McCain\u2019s own words and his memoir, Faith of My Fathers, he admits to giving up his ship\u2019s name, their location, sites of future attacks, to me it is very clear that he broke the code of honor that you\u2019re only supposed to give your name, rank, and serial number.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I just don\u2019t see how he could take the acceptance speech for the president when he\u2019s already proven that he can\u2019t keep his mouth shut. A lot of other people died over there that kept their mouth shut and he didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Jason, I need to ask you a couple questions here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you really believe this?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I do. It\u2019s in his own words if you go to his memoir that he wrote.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know all about the memoirs. I heard him say at the convention that they broke him.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And he gave up his ship\u2019s name, their location, future attacks —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — code of conduct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You ever talked to anybody in the Navy SEALs or the military special operations forces, the Delta Force, you ever talked to any of those people?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you should. You\u2019re in North Carolina, Fort Bragg probably not too far from you. What they tell everybody is, ‘You will break. Everybody can be made to break.\u2019 They either do it with brutality or they do it with drugs. You know what the real lesson is here, Jason?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Uh-huh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know what the real lesson here is?<\/p>\n

CALLER: What is that?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Torture works.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Torture works, Jason. McCain was tortured beyond your ability and my ability to comprehend it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I agree with you, and I myself probably would have done the same exact thing as he did. But then I would not turn around and run for the United States. There was a lot of people over there that kept their mouth shut and did not ever give up anything. It used to be they\u2019d shoot a man in the back, and they would kill you for it. Now they —<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is absurd.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — back with no gun and it\u2019s okay<\/p>\n

RUSH: So what are you going to do? What are you going to do? You going to vote Obama?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Of course. It\u2019s the only choice. You got man who admitted out of his own mouth —<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you want to vote for a guy who will give up the United States from the Oval Office? You want to vote for a guy who will turn the freedom and capitalism of this country into Marxist socialism as fast as he can and do it from the Oval Office? You want to vote for a guy who couldn\u2019t put up for five minutes what John McCain put up with, if that, you go right ahead. Go right ahead. We\u2019re getting an idea here who the Obama constituency is. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is Pamela in Gainesville, Georgia. Great to have you here on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, how are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Never better, thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just gotta respond to that knucklehead Jason saying something about McCain being tortured. I mean, does he not remember that McCain was tortured for five years? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Of course he knows all that. I\u2019ll tell you who\u2019s spreading this bilge rumor is Naomi Wolf. The noted feminist is spreading this notion that McCain is not trustworthy because he turned in his buddies, gave up their locations and all that stuff.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Has Jason even read any of Obama\u2019s memoirs about how he was supporting his Muslim brothers? Did Jason forget about the beheadings that were on TV, not even military personnel, but civilians that were beheaded on television? <\/p>\n

RUSH: I think it\u2019s a ridiculous thing to even ask it, I don\u2019t mean to insult you but I think you start talking to people like, like you\u2019ll notice I got in there, got it, and got out real fast because the longer you stay in the conversation with an idiot and a fool the harder it\u2019s going to be for the audience to tell the difference between you and the fool. Here\u2019s what I glean when I take calls from these types of guys. When I get calls from liberals, ‘what in the world is there to work with them on?\u2019 Somebody show me the bridge to compromise with these idiots. There is nothing about that guy, Jason, that I care to understand or get along with. And after about two minutes of attempting to see if he\u2019s open-minded enough to see the truth and he doesn\u2019t, bam, you\u2019re outta there. It\u2019s not worth the waste of time out there, folks. I think the lesson here is we\u2019re talking about a kook fringe opposition here, including Democrats elected to the Senate and the House, and the idea that we can somehow forge a compromise with these people and working relationships to get along with them, who the hell would want to? What\u2019s in it for us? What is it that this clown, Jason said, for example, that we want to compromise with and make part of our plan to move forward?
