CALLER: Yeah, Rush, I wanted to comment on why I think you\u2019re 100% right on the mortgage crisis, and that is, there would be congressional hearings and investigations right now just like they dragged Big Oil CEOs in where they thought there wasn\u2019t price gouging. So why not bring in their CEOs? Why not investigate and have hearings on Fannie Mae, bring the CEOs in and ask \u2019em.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Amen! Amen! God love you. Stand up, let \u2019em see you out there, George. You know… Oh, God, I\u2019m sorry about that. What am I doing? Nobody can see him, he\u2019s on the phone. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, well. Excellent point. There are not going to be any investigations of this. They want oversight of the bailout. They want to be able to come in and say where some of this is going to go. You are so right. If the Democrats really wanted to get to the bottom of this — if you could trace this back to one Republican, if you could trace it back to Scooter Libby, if you could trace it back to Karl Rove — they would be scheduling hearings last week.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep. Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, you know, it really, really irks me. You know, I\u2019m flipping through the channels yesterday, yesterday morning, getting ready for church, you know. I\u2019m flipping through the channels and here we got Christopher Dodd and Barney Frank on national TV blaming everybody — blaming everybody else but themselves, you know. It just like all it boils down to is common sense. And these guys have absolutely no common sense whatsoever.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s not that! These guys are on a protection mission. They\u2019re using cover from the Drive-By Media to help spread the word that capitalism caused this. They know they\u2019ve got friends in the Drive-By Media. This is to counter any notion they had any responsibility in this. I\u2019m telling you, ladies and gentlemen, what ought to happen here is… This guy that called earlier, was a great call. If the Republicans had any culpability here, there would be ongoing investigations now. They would have started months ago, and the Democrats would have used those investigations to put some Republicans in jail, to force them to quit or what have you. The fact that there haven\u2019t been any investigations proves that the Democrats know there is nobody but themselves to investigate. So they go to their friendly accomplices on the Sunday shows for cover to blame everybody else for this. And to present themselves as the great saviors, now the great protectors. They\u2019re going to fix this. The very guys who broke it, are now going to embrace the whole thing as their own. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd ought to resign from the committees that they are on in the House and the Senate.
