RUSH: Here\u2019s Larry in Atlanta, as we go back to the phones. Great to have you here, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. Great to talk to you. Mega dittos. I heard you say something about Chambliss earlier, and the reason Chambliss had such a decisive victory here in Georgia I think is because Obama\u2019s voters didn\u2019t come back out for the runoff, and I hope that Chambliss hasn\u2019t deceived himself as the chairman of the Republican National Committee, said the Republicans down in Georgia have learned how to win elections, because nothing could be further from the truth. I would prefer right now that Chambliss, after his stunt in August, and which brought him to your show right after he joined up with the Democrats in taking away the only issue the Republicans had to that point, which was the oil issue, if I had my way, Chambliss would resign right now, while we have a Republican governor, so he could appoint a real conservative to finish out his term.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, what do you think the odds of that happening are?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Zero.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He likes the club that he\u2019s in and he\u2019s not going to give if up.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you need to rechannel your energy, because that\u2019s not going to happen and you don\u2019t want to go through the Christmas holidays disappointed. Something you want to happen isn\u2019t going to happen. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no, I won\u2019t be.<\/p>\n

RUSH: One thing Chambliss said after the election was we gotta return to the roots of Ronald Reagan. He did say that. See, here\u2019s the thing. These guys all know, there\u2019s a couple obstacles in their way, and you say the Obama people didn\u2019t show up. Fine. You know, you win elections, you lose \u2019em. He didn\u2019t get his people out, Obama did not want to run down there and run the risk that they wouldn\u2019t show up even if he did go down there. Obama is smart enough to know that people\u2019s emotional reservoirs where he is concerned are over. Once Obama was elected, that was it, the only place where this — well, not the only, but I mean the unforgiving, he can\u2019t do anything wrong Barack Obama as Messiah now almost exclusively exists in the media. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, even if Obama\u2019s voters had showed up on runoff day, I think Chambliss still would have won because it was just so close on the general Election Day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, that\u2019s exactly right. And, by the way, Obama, if he couldn\u2019t throw himself at him, he threw the best he had, he threw Ludacris out there, he threw P. Diddy, he found every rapper he could find to get behind this Martin joker, and it still didn\u2019t work. It\u2019s that race, the gal race in New Orleans that got rid of Congressman William Jefferson (Democrat-Louisiana). This whole election need not have happened the way it did. Now, I\u2019m not crying spilt milk — well, I am crying spilt milk, but I know we can\u2019t go back and change it. But it was not irrevocably in the cards that Obama was gonna win. Had the Republicans — well, been through this time and time again, and it\u2019s just something that need not have happened and everybody looks at it here as a fait accompli. This next call\u2019s the reason why that I\u2019m going through — this need not have happened. Here\u2019s Jose in Miami. Nice to have you, Jose, welcome to the EIB Network.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Hallelujah. I finally got through to you. Truly Excellence in Broadcasting Network. Let me begin by saying Mr. Snerdley, a true professional, a gentleman, you wouldn\u2019t front yourself with nothing less. Thank God for people like you that inform and entertain us. I come from Cuba. I lost the country I was born in 50 years ago, with the elections, you know how it goes. I see things going the same way over here right now, and I have a bunch of ideas. I think we as a people should work together, do grassroots and try to get people like yourself, influential and to gather up the rest of the people and do some things. (unintelligible) I\u2019d like to discuss some of the ideas with you and see how viable they are, because we really gotta do something and do \u2019em now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know what your question is. Even though you haven\u2019t asked it yet, I know what your question is \u2019cause I know where you\u2019re headed here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have several, I have several ideas.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You want to know how do we stop all this insanity that has become this daily sitcom we\u2019re all living in, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, yes, yeah, yeah, not only the bailout but also all these politicians, Chris Dodd, they should be, like you said, investigated —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know, how do we stop that? How do we stop parents from raising their kids to be nothing but a bunch of soak-\u2019em-up sponges? Gee, I am tempted to be so honest. Folks, we\u2019re not going to be able to stop it for a while. Elections have consequences. We\u2019re gonna get an Obama public works program. We\u2019re going to get a lot of this stuff. We\u2019re going to get a bailout of the auto companies. We\u2019re going to get Chris Dodd and Barney Frank being superstars for a while. We\u2019re going to get it. This is what happens. In fact, Bill Kristol, noted conservative thinker, in his New York Times column today says we all ought to just come together and support this public works project as something worthwhile that government is doing because it\u2019s going to happen. Opposing it is silly. So there is a body of conservative thought that says Big Government for the right purposes is something we should join hands with Obama on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
