RUSH: Thank you. Thanks very much. Good to have you here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: From a Rocky Patel cigar smoker and Kansas City UAW Claycomo in Missouri, in desperate need of a Rush Pac<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: What I wanted to call you about was I know for a fact, I worked with the UAW for many years and we\u2019ve had a big problem with a pool hall across the street here in Claycomo and two different liquor stores at opposite sides of —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, no.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — quarter mile —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you so much for helping me out here today.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it just seems like they come in on Friday night and cash their paychecks and also pick up a large amount of alcohol before —<\/p>\n

RUSH: UAW workers at Claycomo are a bunch of drunken fish. They go to the pool hall, a couple bars, they get their paycheck on Friday, thanks for helping me out here, buddy.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it\u2019s just the way it works. It just seems to be that they continue to go to these places to —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me ask you Jimmy, let me ask you a question. Which came first, the Claycomo plant or the pool hall and the bars? What was there first? <\/p>\n

CALLER: What was there?<\/p>\n

RUSH: What was there first? Did they build the Claycomo plant next to the bars —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no, the pool hall and the bars were there first, and the liquor stores, and this is where they cashed their checks on Friday —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no. What I\u2019m asking is, you\u2019ve got the Claycomo plant, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There used to be a time when there wasn\u2019t a Claycomo plant, I mean it had been built. What I\u2019m asking you is did the liquor store open and the bars open and the pool halls open after they built the plant, or did the Ford people or the GM people build the plant purposely close to the bars, the pool halls, and the liquor stores.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, the Ford plant was there first.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, that\u2019s what I thought. (laughing) See, the free market at work here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But I just find it mind-boggling that I\u2019ve worked there for several years, it just seems like when Friday night rolls around, they run down there, they cash their checks, and everybody is walking out with booze, and I\u2019m getting tired of working with a lot of these drunks.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but — (laughing) — so the liquor store owner and the pool hall guy and the bar owner, said, ‘Ooh, auto plant!\u2019 that\u2019s the free market. That\u2019s how it works. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Back in the old days you could talk to the guys that ran professional wrestling, and they knew, they always scheduled the matches on Friday night on payday.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) Well, more than anything, I\u2019m just getting tired of my life being in danger from people that come back from lunch a little bit intoxicated and yet they don\u2019t want to take a wage cut to help out and help save the company.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, look, you\u2019re obviously giving firsthand witness testimony here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, ho, yes, I am.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And you sound very passionate, enthusiastic, and jocular about this, but I do not wish to cast these kinds of aspersions at large on members of the United Auto Workers.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I understand that also, but my life is in danger with some of these employees.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, so you still work there then.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, but.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You don\u2019t go to these places at five o\u2019clock on Friday?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, on lunchtime and during the evening shift, it just seems to be a regular thing to where people enjoy not only cashing their check but buying up alcohol before they return back at work, and it just —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, can you really blame \u2019em, the state of the auto industry, the state of the country, people feel like they\u2019ve got no future, they\u2019ve got no hope, no health care? I\u2019m surprised this is still going on after Obama was elected, but still, these people have been told that there\u2019s no future in the country, they\u2019ve been told that it\u2019s horrible. Obama says it\u2019s going to get much, much worse out there. And some people, you know, we all choose to deal with our stress in different ways.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I understand that, and, yes, we can. <\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s become ‘no, we can\u2019t.\u2019 <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I wish they wouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s become ‘no, we can\u2019t.\u2019 I wish we could — <\/p>\n
