<\/p>\nRUSH: Crazy Bernie is in the swamp today making the case for Democrat socialism. He\u2019s out there doing a speech making the case for Democrat socialism. I thought about joining this in progress for a time, and then I thought, no. You in this audience don\u2019t need to hear this drivel. You want to hear me take it apart, which is what we\u2019ll do when we get the audio sound bites of Crazy Bernie. That may not happen \u2019til tomorrow.<\/p>\n
But I do want to address one thing that he said. And, by the way, folks, I\u2019ve been clearing my throat rather frequently today, and sometimes I don\u2019t hit the cough button. I apologize in advance for that. And I know it can get to be irritating to hear it.<\/p>\n

Crazy Bernie started out by saying: We face two different forces of evil today. We face the forces of oligarchy and authoritarianism. And the crowd went nuts. I don\u2019t know who the audience is. I don\u2019t know who he\u2019s speaking to here. But they got loud. So I got to thinking. When an acknowledged socialist starts ripping authoritarianism, what\u2019s going on? Because that\u2019s what socialism is! Socialism is authoritarianism! So what is he talking about? And why is that crowd applauding?<\/p>\n
And then oligarchy. Who are the oligarchs? Oligarchs in our common language today are rich Russian friends of Putin who own yachts. That\u2019s what an oligarch is. But that\u2019s not who he\u2019s talking about when he talks “authoritarians and oligarchs.” (interruption) Well, you disagree with that? Well, no. He\u2019s not talking about Trump. Authoritarian he\u2019s talking about Trump, but the oligarchs are not Trump. No, I thought you were disagreeing my definition of an oligarch.<\/p>\n
An oligarch is a Russian friend of Putin who has about five houses or 10 and a giant yacht that\u2019s either in the Mediterranean or at Monaco. But he\u2019s not talking about that. Now, when a socialist — this is very important, folks — when an acknowledged socialist like Crazy Bernie starts ripping authoritarians, he means us. In their world, anybody with a biblical-related morality is an authoritarian. That\u2019s what he means.<\/p>\n
Anybody who would tell you that a family cannot be you and your two wives and your pet gerbil. Anybody that would tell you that that can\u2019t be your family is an authoritarian. Anybody that would tell you that you can\u2019t use whatever bathroom you want or poop on the streets of San Francisco is an authoritarian.<\/p>\n
I may be exaggerating a bit, but the point is to them is conservatives, we are authoritarians. We are telling them what they can\u2019t do. And in their world, it\u2019s always within a moral framework where we are claiming they are immoral. And that is what a socialist thinks is authoritarian. Authoritarians are anybody that disagrees with them.<\/p>\n
You have to understand this. Because if you don\u2019t, authoritarianism, Bernie Sanders, a socialist ripping authoritarians? It seems contradictory. Because in socialism, the leaders are the authoritarians, and they tell you what you can and can\u2019t do, and they tell you what you can and can\u2019t eat and they tell you where you can and can\u2019t go, and they tell you all of these things.<\/p>\n
But they\u2019re not rooted in morality. They\u2019re rooted in power and control. Bernie Sanders, if he ever were elected president in a genuine socialist country, he would be every bit the authoritarian that Hugo Chavez was, by definition! Otherwise he will not be a socialist. There is no democratic socialism. That\u2019s a head fake. There is no democratic socialism, by definition.<\/p>\n

Now, we sometimes refer to Western European nations as democratic socialist \u2019cause we don\u2019t have the guts to just call \u2019em socialists, which is what they are. “Democratic socialists. They\u2019ve elected it, and they\u2019ve agreed to live under it.” They may have elected it, but that\u2019s the end of their choice.<\/p>\n
Now, who are the oligarchs? This is another contradictory thing. In Bernie Sanders\u2019 world, the oligarchs are the people that own the fast food restaurants. They\u2019re the people that own businesses, the monopolists, and this includes the forces of evil in Silicon Valley. He\u2019s talking about this rising tide of corporate monopolists who control this and control that. But he\u2019s also including something as innocuous as fast food corporations.<\/p>\n
Any corporation is an oligarchy to him, but he was throwing the social media people into this, which is another really contradictory thing because these guys would have a much tougher row to hoe if Facebook and Twitter were not on their side. His two biggest allies are Facebook and Twitter! And here he is lumping them in with the oligarchs that he thinks need to be disempowered, which frankly I don\u2019t believe he actually means that.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t all leftists love social media? Don\u2019t all leftists love Twitter? Some of them might have an individual problem, but Twitter is not trying to silence left-leaning people or liberals. Twitter\u2019s not delisting and suspending liberals. They\u2019re only doing that to conservatives. Now, when they get mad at social media is when they don\u2019t stop the Russians from helping Trump. Ha-ha. Anyway, I think it\u2019s fascinating to listen to these people talk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
