Well, folks, wehave another addition to the list. Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius cut a belated check to the IRS, after it was discovered that she and her husband failed to pay over $7,000 in taxes. Apparently, there were no receipts to back up deductions for some charitable contributions and business expenses. Governor Sebelius also improperly took a home mortgage interest deduction.<\/p>\n

But the failure to pay taxes on time won\u2019t stop her nomination as Obama\u2019s HHSSecretary. Given the way Democrats view their failure to pay the taxes they gleefully impose on the rest of us,it could well be a resume enhancement.<\/p>\n

The seven grand Sebelius didn\u2019t pay can\u2019t compete with the $128,000 that Tom Daschle didn\u2019tpay. Nancy Killefer, Obama\u2019s choice to oversee budget and spending reform, didn\u2019t pay taxes on her household help for two years. Daschle and Killefer withdrew– unlike Obama\u2019s trade guy, Mayor Ron Kirk, who failed to pay 10 grand in taxes. And let\u2019s not forget the guy running the IRS, the Treasury Department, and the auto industry– Timothy Geithner– who owed $34,000 in back taxes. Or the House Democrat in charge ofraising your taxes,Charlie Rangel,whose financial tomfoolery would take hours to detail.<\/p>\n

I must caution you:Don\u2019t try this yourself. Unlike the president, the IRS takes a dim view of tax cheats. You might not fare so well; unless, of course, you\u2019re on the Democrat “too-big-to-pay-taxes” list — and I doubt that you are.<\/p>\n
