RUSH: All of a sudden, ladies and gentlemen, there is some hesitation at the White House on releasing these abuse photos, these torture photos, these interrogation photos. As you know, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals has ordered the photos released. All the Obama people would have to do is appeal it to the Supreme Court. Punt it down, kick it down the road for a year or two, half a year or whatever. But they\u2019ve made this big noise: ‘We want to release the pictures! We want to get the pictures out,\u2019 and everybody is going, ‘No, no, no.\u2019 See, Obama… My friend Andy McCarthy\u2019s got a great way to describe Obama. For Obama, there are two Americas. There is the America that began upon his ascension to the throne, and then there\u2019s the America prior to it — and the America prior to January 20th this year is an immoral, unjust, imperfect mess. <\/p>\n

But now, with the ascension of The Messiah, America is perfect. And in this mind-set, Obama wants to cleanse all of the filth of the previous 200-plus years of America by releasing all the filth and apologizing for all the filth wherever he has to go, around the world or in his own country. Apologize for America here; apologize there. Admit that we\u2019re evil. Admit that we are not what we once were. Admit that we torture. ‘Not only are we going to release the memos, here are the pictures!\u2019 and then somebody somewhere got them to thinking at the White House. Actually, I think the justice department may be involved in this. Somebody got them to thinking, ‘You know, we still have soldiers in battle, and if we\u2019re going to go out there and if we\u2019re going to say,\u2019 like the Democrats did for six years, ‘that the Bush policy of interrogation and its techniques ‘created more terrorists\u2019 and ruined our self-esteem and ruined our image in the world, well, wouldn\u2019t these pictures do the same thing?\u2019<\/p>\n

I mean, we\u2019re going to put out pictures of supposed torture and obscene interrogation techniques. Wouldn\u2019t that cause just as much damage to the world? Obama says, ‘Well, yeah, but that will be America before I ran it. Go ahead and do it!\u2019 Somebody said, ‘No, no, no, no! We\u2019ve got soldiers out there, and Afghanistan is your war now — and Afghanistan may become Pakistan,\u2019 or Pok-ee-stahn, as he says it, ‘and it\u2019s your war now. You don\u2019t do this.\u2019 They\u2019re rethinking this. ‘The Obama administration signaled yesterday that it may be rethinking its promise to release several dozen photos depicting abuse or alleged abuse of detainees held in U.S. custody abroad.\u2019 Gibbs kind of let the cat out of the bag yesterday at the press briefing. <\/p>\n

He said Obama ‘has ‘great concern\u2019 about the impact that releasing the photos would have on soldiers fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. Asked whether the Justice Department\u2019s decision might be reversed, Gibbs declined to reaffirm the government\u2019s intentions.\u2019 The CIA is not happy about this. ‘Democrats charged [yesterday] that the CIA ‘has released documents about congressional briefings on harsh interrogation techniques in order to deflect attention and blame away from itself.” The Democrats think ‘the CIA is out to get us.\u2019 Now, all this was brought about by Nancy Pelosi lying about what she was told regarding waterboarding and other forms of torture. And speaking of Pelosi — and I\u2019m going to delve into this in a little bit more detail as the program unfolds, but my keen sense of insight and my highly tuned radar tell me that something might be brewing regarding Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. <\/p>\n

I mean, she leaves the country and she\u2019s out of the country and in Iraq and so forth. Steny Hoyer yesterday says (paraphrased), ‘Yeah, you know what? We should have congressional hearings on what Pelosi knew.\u2019 Hoyer and Pelosi are not buds. I can get the news stories from \u201906 and \u201907, if you want, to back this up. Hoyer\u2019s number two in the House, but Pelosi wanted Murtha. Murtha\u2019s her ally. Hoyer is not. Hoyer and Rahm Emanuel are buds. They are tight. You know, nothing would surprise me, as power crazy is these people are. For Rahm Emanuel and Obama to get hold of the House, hold Pelosi out to dry… I know you think Democrats wouldn\u2019t do that to each other, and it may not happen. It may not even be in the cards. But I\u2019m looking at this because they\u2019re hanging her out to dry on this. I mean, they\u2019re using words like ‘Clintonesque\u2019 in the Drive-By Media to describe the way she\u2019s handling all these stories and evidence about what she knew and when she knew it, and what she didn\u2019t say about torture.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Democrats think ‘the CIA is out to get us.\u2019 The CIA\u2019s out to get anybody that wants to throw them under the bus. It doesn\u2019t matter if their party is Republican or Democrat. And the Democrats want to release these pictures, and the Democrats want to release these memos, and the Democrats are doing all this stuff. The CIA is going to fight back. Now, the document CIA has released that the Democrats are all upset about: ‘The 10-page document, which was prepared after an April 20 request by Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.), lists 40 instances in which the CIA briefed members of Congress between September 2002 and March 2009. But they provide a vague description of the briefings, giving just enough information to fuel claims that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top officials have long known about waterboarding and other tactics but did little to stop the techniques from being used.\u2019 <\/p>\n

So the Democrats are still trying to dump on George W. Bush. CIA said, ‘Wait! Wait! Wait just a second here.\u2019 They\u2019re dumping these document because Hoekstra asked them for it, and so the Democrats now think the CIA is out to get \u2019em. Now, it\u2019s amazing the finger pointing going on regarding memos pertaining to enhanced interrogation techniques, when you consider the results. Here again, we are ignoring results — in this case, successful results — and trying to besmirch people on the basis of intentions. Regardless who released the memos and what the motivations were, it\u2019s hilarious to see Congress blaming the CIA when one of the outcomes was that Los Angeles was saved from a terror attack. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s right! One of the bits of info we get from interrogations at Club Gitmo was information helped to stop a terror attack in Los Angeles. The Democrats are pointing fingers at the CIA, and the CIA is pointing fingers everybody else, and Pelosi is trying to get attention focused anywhere but on herself. Meanwhile, it all worked. How convoluted is this? In the old days, everybody would be rushing to take credit for this. Now, Nancy Pelosi has lied her way into a corner. It\u2019s gotten to the point here where a responsible American would have praised these interrogations and pinned medals on everybody involved. So convoluted is the American left that success, as a result of these interrogations, is now part of the crime! <\/p>\n

Los Angeles ought to have proclamations, keys to the city, and tickertape parades for the people that prevented the attack occurring there. But because Pelosi and others tried to politicize and demonize Bush\u2019s incredible national security accomplishments, we have people in Washington running around like chickens with their heads cut off. This paragraph from The Politico story is interesting: ‘Intelligence Committee member Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) said it appears that ‘members of the committee or their staff were not in any way involved in (the release of the document). It appears to come from the executive branch itself. … I think it\u2019s unbelievable.” So the Senate Intelligence Committee is looking into this behind closed doors. <\/p>\n

They get all this information, but it\u2019s been released outside the bounds of the intelligence committee. The CIA is considered the executive branch. Now, is this story…? A question for you: ‘Is this story getting more coverage than Obama kneecapping the CEOs at the White House?\u2019 Remember when he brought them in there and said, ‘I\u2019m the only one standing between you and the pitchforks\u2019? Is this story getting more play than the Chrysler-secured creditors having their Fifth Amendment rights trampled on? Is this story getting more play than the corruption associated with TARP money? If so — if this story is getting more play in the Drive-By Media than all these other evidences or stories involving White House corruption — you can damn well rest assured the White House is encouraging this story. <\/p>\n

You can damn-well rest assured that the White House is dictating this story to the Politico and the Drive-By Media. The executive editors of this story are in the White House. This is aimed… Folks, I don\u2019t know this, but the ultimate target of this is Nancy Pelosi. She\u2019s the only one of them that\u2019s worried about it. She\u2019s the only one of them twisting in the wind here. She\u2019s the one parsing her statements, changing her statements. They\u2019re saying that she\u2019s sounding ‘Clintonesque\u2019 about this. And then there\u2019s this story that subtly appeared last night from the AP: ‘The House majority leader [Steny Hoyer] reluctantly agreed Tuesday that congressional hearings should investigate Pelosi\u2019s assertion that she wasn\u2019t informed, more than six years ago, that harsh interrogation methods were used on the Al Qaeda leader. <\/p>\n

Steny Hoyer, D-Md., called Republican challenges to Pelosi\u2019s assertion a diversion from…\u2019 See, the Republicans are the ones demanding this, and Hoyer could say, ‘Go to hell!\u2019 The Republicans don\u2019t have the votes or the power to ‘demand\u2019 anything. They\u2019re ‘demanding this,\u2019 and Hoyer says, ‘Oh, well, okay.\u2019 This is sort of like Tom Foley back in 1990. Remember when that stupid book came out accusing George Bush of being involved in an October Surprise ten years earlier? There was no evidence of it, and Tom Foley, Speaker of the House, said, ‘Well, it\u2019s exactly and precisely because there\u2019s no evidence that we must investigate. The seriousness of the charge is so grave, we must look into it.\u2019 <\/p>\n

So Hoyer\u2019s basically saying the same thing, ‘Well (stammering) I — I — I guess we must look into this!\u2019 So ‘Democrats will hold a series of hearings on Justice Department memos released last month that justified rough tactics against detainees, including waterboarding — simulated drowning — and sleep deprivation. While Democrats want the hearings to focus on what they call torture, Republicans have tried to turn the issue to their advantage by complaining that Pelosi and other Democrats knew of the tactics but didn\u2019t protest,\u2019 and ‘Hoyer, asked at a news conference whether Democrats were inviting political problems for themselves by holding hearings, said, ‘I think the facts need to get out.” <\/p>\n

Ha! He thinks the facts need to get out. Now, this is one of the rare times they are not circling the wagons around their leader! So, you know, folks, I\u2019m looking at this — and my highly trained eye, my sensitive Democratdar on this, radar — sees something happening here. And, oh, by the way, let me add to this. Mister Broadcast Engineer, follow me here as I scour the audio sound bite roster for Ms. Pelosi today at the White House sucking up to President Obama. Let\u2019s see. Well, let\u2019s see. Let me get to number nine and see if it\u2019s what it is. Number nine, number nine. Yes. At the White House today, there was a meeting between Obama and Congress about passing his Obama care, his socialized medicine by July 31st. So when The Messiah was done, when the Bamster had wrapped it up, Pelosi grabbed the podium to speak in praise of The Messiah.<\/p>\n

PELOSI: Mr. President, may I say something in addition? <\/p>\n

THE MESSIAH: Yes.<\/p>\n

PELOSI: It\u2019s important to know that under your leadership, since you became president, whether it was signing and — and, uh, uh, um, taking the lead on the uh, S-CHIP, the Children\u2019s Health Insurance [Program], the, uh, HealthIT that is in the recovery package, other legislation as we have gone along, uhhh. You, under your leadership and working with this Congress, have done more to promote health care, to move it along — prevention, technology, by medical research, children\u2019s health, uh, veterans\u2019 health — than has been done in our country since Medicare was established in the fifties. (sic–1965) So already you have a remarkable record. We\u2019re down the path. We\u2019re going to get the job done. But I thank you for the leadership you have provided already this year.<\/p>\n

RUSH: She made a dash for that microphone as soon as he finished, and let me tell you what she was doing at that microphone (kissing sounds) and she was pretending that microphone was a body part of Obama. (kissing sounds) That\u2019s exactly what\u2019s going on, because she knows. She knows what\u2019s what. (laughing) Let\u2019s see. We\u2019re… (interruption) I know she\u2019d spoken before him. I know that. But after he finishes, nobody else speaks. It was supposed to be over. You know, when the president finishes, it\u2019s over — and she made a beeline back to that microphone. (kissing sounds) <\/p>\n

RUSH: ‘House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer\u2019s (D-Md.) office sought to clarify remarks he made Tuesday about the formulation of the so-called torture memos, saying that a number of media outlets incorrectly interpreted his comments. Hoyer\u2019s statement at his Tuesday press briefing that ‘the information about what was said and when it was said and who said it\u2019 should be ‘on the record\u2019 was not in reference to what Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was told about the use of waterboarding.\u2019 He\u2019s for what he said, he just didn\u2019t mean that it was about Pelosi. He\u2019s not denying he said it. ‘I didn\u2019t mean Pelosi here,\u2019 when, of course, he did. I knew this was going to cause the excrement to hit the fan out there somehow, and it has. So muddied waters continue here. <\/p>\n

RUSH: It looks like it\u2019s official. Obama has changed his mind now, and the detainee photos depicting ‘horrible torture\u2019 will not be released now. The ACLU has sued demanding the release of 44 of those pictures. You know, folks, we\u2019re going to have to have to have one option in the mix to explain Obama on foreign policy — and that is pure, unadulterated incompetence. In addition to all the others things (like apologizing for America, his superiority about himself versus every other president we\u2019ve had, his not thinking there\u2019s anything exceptional about America) we also have to throw in the mix that they just may be incompetent. It was incompetent to even ponder releasing these photos. It was irrational. It was made… It was a total ego thing for Obama to even think about this. ‘Cause all he\u2019s trying to do is demonstrate how pure he is as compared to the muck and the imperfection of America prior to his ascension to the Oval Office. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
