But the failing health of Senator Kennedy, as I told you way back when, is the driving force here. The failing health of Senator Kennedy is already being used as an inspirational effort or technique to get national health care on the fast track. Before it\u2019s all over it will be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care Bill.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: And I caught hell for that. I caught literal hell for that &#8212; and then shortly after Senator Kennedy expired, you had all kinds of Democrats running around saying we should name the bill for him, and then last night, here\u2019s the president&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: I received one of those letters a few days ago. It was from our beloved friend and colleague Ted Kennedy. He had written it back in May, shortly after he was told that his illness was terminal. He asked that it be delivered upon his death. In it he spoke about what a happy time his last months were, thanks to the love and support of family and friends; his wife Vicki; his amazing children, who are all here tonight. And he expressed confidence that this would be the year that health care reform, &#8216;that great unfinished business of our society,\u2019 he called it, &#8216;would finally pass.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, my prediction comes true every time they open their mouths about Ted Kennedy and so forth. I want to point out, by the way, Ted Kennedy did not stay in Massachusetts and use the state of Massachusetts socialized health care plan to have his brain tumor treated. He went down to Duke University for the best reputed neurosurgeon, brain surgeon, cancer surgeon that the country has. He did not rely in any way, shape, manner, or form on the kind of health care plan Obama or the House or the Senate happen to be proposing. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: But let\u2019s go back to March 6th, me, on this show.
