CALLER: Good afternoon, Rush. Nice to talk to you. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. I\u2019m just waiting for the music to end so I can hear you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m sorry.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, it\u2019s over.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Can you hear me now? <\/p>\n

RUSH: I can hear you now, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Got a quick question for you regarding the situation with the hospitals in Florida.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If they are indeed overwhelmed by patients with the —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — swine flu or Asian flu or Hong Kong flu or whatever, and you have a seven-year-old child sitting there and a person that\u2019s dying, that\u2019s terminally ill with cancer, okay? Which one would you like treated? There\u2019s only one bed left in the hospital, you got a seven-year-old sitting there with the flu that needs treated, and you\u2019ve got a person that\u2019s terminally ill with cancer and, you know, they\u2019re there for whatever reason.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, in the first place, I don\u2019t accept the premise of your question, because you may not have understood my point. My point is that the Obama people and the Democrats are telling us there aren\u2019t any death panels in our health care. ‘We\u2019re not going to have any rationing! This is all scare tactics on the right.\u2019 Here\u2019s a story from South Florida, Ft. Lauderdale: Oh, yeah, there certainly is a death panel. In this case it\u2019s Florida health agencies and they\u2019re going to decide — they\u2019re going to tell the hospitals to decide — who gets kicked out and who gets admitted. The whole thing right now is just a supposition. This is being designed to frighten people and scare people, which is an operational tactic of people on the left to keep people on edge and worried. ‘We\u2019re going to die!\u2019 It\u2019s not going to be our responsibility. We\u2019re just going to have some faceless agency tell the hospital to choose which patient goes and which one doesn\u2019t. This has never happened in America as far as I know. I\u2019ve never seen stories like that. We\u2019ve had flu epidemics every year; I\u2019ve never seen a story where a hospital agency in the state is telling hospitals, ‘You better choose on a panic that has not yet really developed.\u2019 I\u2019ve never seen this before. It\u2019s all part of a scare tactic that whether these people are in on it or not they\u2019ve fallen for it, at least, and it disturbs me. ‘Cause I don\u2019t know that this is ever going to be a reality, not with the swine flu.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So what you\u2019re saying is their preparedness is a farce, them preparing for this possible eventuality?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. I\u2019m saying that their announcing it and making a big news story out of it is part of an overall campaign to keep people on edge and full of angst over this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, who\u2019s making it a news story, though? The television, radio, you know, the talk show hosts?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. <\/p>\n

CALLER: The apparatus that you\u2019re part of is making the story.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They\u2019re passing papers between themselves saying, ‘You need to be prepared for this eventuality.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no. Wait a second.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And you\u2019re blowing it out of proportion using your —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, wait a minute, now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — own apparatus —<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is how this…? (laughing) I\u2019m to blame! I\u2019m to blame for spreading the false quotes about me. I\u2019m to blame for spreading this news. Okay, sir, I get it. I\u2019ll agree with you. I\u2019ll agree. This is Brian in Lorain, Ohio, and I\u2019ll agree with you. Robert B. Reich said it: ‘We\u2019re just going to let the old people die.\u2019 I\u2019ll agree with it. That\u2019s what we\u2019re going to do. A 7-year-old versus a 75-year-old, no question about it: the 75-year-old dies. There! Problem solved. Thank you, President Obama. <\/p>\n

RUSH: An excellent point from the e-mail. It\u2019s not often that I miss making the best point to be made, but I did here. The guy who called from Lorain, Ohio, and wanted to know, ‘Well, who would you choose, the seven-year-old or the 75-year-old with cancer?\u2019 <\/p>\n

You know, I got sidetracked on telling him, ‘Look, you\u2019re missing the point, folks, gang, guys,\u2019 but the point here is I\u2019ve never seen a story like this reported before. They\u2019re all just setting up crisis, chaos, and so forth. The answer is that we in the United States of America ought never have to face this question because we would all hope that the government would be looking at ways to expand health care for everybody, not ration it; to find a way to have a bed for all who needed it. This is the government! We have a liberal government looking only at limitations and getting rid of people that they think are not worthwhile, valuable, or whatever.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
