RUSH: Where was Chris Matthews? I opened the program asking the question yesterday, and we found out, we found out because later in the day Chris Matthews opened his show and ended his show in the first two minutes.<\/p>\n

\"\"MATTHEWS: Let me start with my headline tonight. I\u2019m retiring. After a conversation with MSNBC, I decided tonight will be my last Hardball. So let me tell you why. The younger generations out there are ready to take the reins. We\u2019re talking here about better standards than we grew up with, fairer standards. A lot of it has to do with how we talk to each other. Compliments on a woman\u2019s appearance that some men, including me, might have once incorrectly thought were okay, were never okay. Not then, and certainly not today. And for making such comments in the past, I\u2019m sorry.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, there we are. It took a while to get to it, but he told one too many women they looked attractive. You can\u2019t do that anymore. You just can\u2019t do it. You haven\u2019t been able to do that since the seventies. You cannot compliment a woman\u2019s appearance because it\u2019s an insult to her brain. It\u2019s an insult to her professionalism and accomplishment if you compliment — if you do compliment a woman on her appearance, you have to ask permission first. And next you\u2019re gonna have to ask permission to send flowers, don\u2019t get the wrong idea.<\/p>\n

Now, there\u2019s a woman that writes columns for the Washington Post, what\u2019s her name, Snerdley, Kathleen Parker? Kathleen Parker has come out and has defended Chris Matthews: I had a flirtatious relationship with this guy for 30 years. This guy flirted with me, I flirted with him, it was harmless, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.<\/p>\n

And now the #MeToo movement is out after her and after him. You heard him. He\u2019s quitting. Younger generation, meaning you dryball Millennials, you don\u2019t even notice a pretty woman anymore, and that\u2019s where we are in America now.<\/p>\n
