RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The purpose of my call: I\u2019m a Democrat, and I\u2019m a Democrat that\u2019s totally fed up with the direction that the House, the Senate, and the White House are leading this country. Today is a primary in Pennsylvania, and I\u2019m discussing Arlen Specter and Joe Sestak, the two Democratic candidates for the Senate. I\u2019ve done some thinking. There\u2019s not a lot of passion in Pennsylvania over this race. There\u2019s a lot of undecided voters, and it\u2019s real close, and I\u2019ve been thinking about it, and I\u2019ve decided to vote for Arlen Specter. The reason — it might sound curious coming from a Democrat, but — is the Republican candidate will be Pat Toomey, and he pulls much better against Arlen Specter. He pulls 50 to 38% above Specter, but if he were to run against Joe Sestak it\u2019s a dead race.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So —<\/p>\n

CALLER: So my vote today for Arlen Specter is actually a vote for Republican Pat Toomey.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Even though you\u2019re a Democrat, you say?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Even I\u2019m a Democrat.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Well, I saw Senator Specter today was asked what he thinks about this. He said, ‘Well, if it stops raining I have a chance.\u2019 It\u2019s raining big time in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (garbled)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Pardon me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I said I\u2019m in the Pittsburgh area and it\u2019s been raining all day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And it\u2019s cold, 50 degrees. It\u2019s global cooling.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Same thing in Philadelphia, same thing in New York. Yeah, 50 degrees. I mean, these people are decked out in winter clothes. You see their breath watching these reports in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Carl Cameron, who weighs about 80 pounds, is wearing four overcoats. You can see his breath as he reports on a street corner there in Philadelphia. So Specter, basically, I guess what he\u2019s saying is that the rain will suppress the seasoned citizen vote.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n
