RUSH: Minneapolis is next. This is John. Greetings, and welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, how you doing, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, I — I want to kind of make a comment here. You know, I\u2019m kind of getting tired of the fake callers calling in here about some of the topics that you\u2019re talking about. You know, you\u2019re talking about taxes. Here — here\u2019s the problem that I have with this country.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait just a second now. We\u2019ve gotta define terms here. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: ‘Fake callers.\u2019 What do you mean, fake callers?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, what I mean by fake callers is this. Anybody, if you — if you really sit down and you use a psychological imagination, you can see what — what\u2019s going on and what\u2019s happening here in this — in this economy while people are complaining about higher taxes. Well, if — if everyone was paying their fair share of taxes, Rush, there would be no need to raise taxes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is that? What is this fair share, John?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, a fair share is — is paying, is excluding and getting rid of all these loopholes. Paying what — what you\u2019re supposed to pay in taxes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There aren\u2019t any loopholes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There\u2019s a lot of corporations that have a lot of loopholes in the law. There\u2019s a lot of loopholes that allow these guys —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Corporations have never paid taxes, and by the way, the US corporate tax rate is the second highest in the world.<\/p>\n

CALLER: N\u2019yah, it\u2019s (unintelligible).<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know facts are going to get in the way here of your call, but the facts are not fake.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, here — here\u2019s the thing, Rush. Some of the — I heard the other day, this is a while back, there was a company called Xcel Energy Center. Xcel Energy Center owed the state of Minnesota $30 million. Now the state of Minnesota turned around and said forget about it. Here\u2019s my problem. See, if you know that there\u2019s a lot of companies and corporations —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, wait a minute —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — that owes millions of dollars in taxes —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hold a minute —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Why would you…? Why would you had sit here and say forget about it —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t know about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and (garbled) pay taxes?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t know about any of that but I\u2019d ask you who\u2019s running Minnesota and who\u2019s forgiving the taxes owed by this mysterious corporation?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know — and see, here\u2019s another problem I have.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ll give you a hint. It\u2019s not Republicans.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You got a Republican governor. Tim Pawlenty is at the helm of in this one. (chuckle) But, you know, here\u2019s another problem that you have here Rush. By those company not paying its share of tax why that cost has been offset by someone else and that\u2019s the average Joe that goes to work every day just to try to feed his family, he can\u2019t feed his family because he\u2019s paying too much in taxes while other people are giving way not paying taxes at all. This is not (unintelligible) country, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. Let me ask you a question.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We gotta get to the nub of this. Are you paying your ‘fair share\u2019 in taxes?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. I\u2019m paying my fair share in taxes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (crosstalk)<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you pay? How much?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Here\u2019s the problem, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What are you paying in taxes every year, John?<\/p>\n

CALLER: When these other guys owe taxes, you know, the government don\u2019t come through and say, ‘We\u2019re going to garnish your wages. We\u2019re going to –‘<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s always the other guys. It\u2019s always the other guys. John, if you —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m sorry, Rush. Go ahead, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You haven\u2019t told me. How much do you pay in taxes? I can tell you. Are you in the upper 5%? Because the top 5% are paying almost 50% of all income taxes in the country.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I don\u2019t think I\u2019m up that much, but I\u2019m paying my fair share of taxes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re not paying your fair share, bud.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m basically bringing home nothing after taxes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re not paying your fair share. I\u2019m paying my fair share. I\u2019m probably paying your share and I\u2019m paying your family\u2019s share, and I\u2019m probably paying the share that Minnesota corporation the Democrats forgave. I\u2019m probably paying a whole lot of people\u2019s share of taxes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I doubt that, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re calling me and saying I\u2019m not paying my fair share.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You talked about the jobs, where are the jobs. Let me tell you where the jobs are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, what\u2019s ‘fair,\u2019 John? Can you define fair for me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush? Rush? Rush? Rush? The government aren\u2019t the ones who create jobs. It\u2019s the private sector. So you can talk all day long and you can blame Obama, but at the end of the day it\u2019s the private sector that\u2019s not hiring. (crosstalk)<\/p>\n
