CALLER: How are you doing, sir? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well, thank you. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, first of all, I appreciate you taking the time, and I\u2019d like to apologize to you. I believe America — we\u2019re a family, and I hear Democrats always say, ‘shared sacrifice, shared sacrifice.\u2019 Well, that would be ten for a dime, but their tax program is one for a dollar. Well, my whole life when I was able to work, I never got a job from a poor person. It was a rich person that gave me that opportunity to go along with them with their dream and become successful, and I just don\u2019t feel it\u2019s right what they are doing to y\u2019all. I might not be rich, but I\u2019m an American and I have a right to try to be rich. <\/p>\n

RUSH: What are you apologizing for? <\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m an American and my government is — I mean, they are badmouthing people and I feel sorry for that. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, oh, I thought you had said something to me in a previous call. <\/p>\n

CALLER: No, sir, I\u2019m apologizing to you as an American with what my government is doing to you people — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, I see. <\/p>\n

CALLER: — that have given us opportunity. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I see. You are calling to apologize on behalf of the American people. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Because I\u2019m one of the group of people being targeted by Obama. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. <\/p>\n

RUSH: And I\u2019m one of the group of people that creates jobs. <\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019ve been villainized for giving us an opportunity to try to come along and see your dream and be successful. <\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s true. <\/p>\n

CALLER: And you\u2019ve given me that chance and that opportunity. <\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s true. That\u2019s very true. <\/p>\n

CALLER: And now my government, or our government, is making you out to be the bad guy. The last time I saw a government do this, instead of being rich, they called them Jews. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Mmm-hmmm. <\/p>\n

CALLER: And it\u2019s just not fair, sir, and I would like to personally apologize. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate this. Thank you, Jamie from Georgetown, Florida. He\u2019s correct. People like me have been demonized and villainized, and he, on behalf of the rest of the country, is apologizing. It\u2019s not your business to apologize for Obama, but I appreciate the sentiment.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Chad in Omaha, you are next on the Rush Limbaugh program. Nice to have you here, sir. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, Rush, thank you for all that you do. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Years ago I listened to you. I\u2019ve been listening to you for a long time. I\u2019m 34 years old, and you made a comment that class warfare is not the answer, there\u2019s nothing that can be solved by that. Basically what you said was you either go to college or you work hard to become something. I started at a company, been there 14 years, didn\u2019t know anything about the place, but I knew they had good ownership so I worked hard and now I\u2019m moved all the way up to business development. I have a good job and I just think Obama needs to know that if you work hard for things, you don\u2019t have to have a handout, you\u2019ve just got to be willing to work for it. And I thank you for your advice years ago and I\u2019ll keep listening to you. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much, Chad. I appreciate it. The thing that you have to know is Obama knows what you just said. Yes, he does. He knows it. He resents it. He doesn\u2019t want industriousness. He wants you turning to government. That\u2019s what gives him power. If you succeed, he wants what you have. He wants to spread the wealth. He wants to redistribute. If you succeed, Chad, it marks you as unfair. You have an unfair advantage over those who haven\u2019t, and you are guilty of the unjust immoral ways that America has been structured because the way Obama looks at it, if everybody doesn\u2019t succeed, which of course is not possible, then the country is a failure. And those who do succeed have gamed the system. Those who have succeeded have done it unfairly, and he\u2019s going to take what you have. Obama\u2019s slogan, were he to have been honest during the 2008 presidential campaign: ‘I\u2019ve got what it takes to take what you\u2019ve got,\u2019 because that essentially sums up Barack Obama. Now, some people might say, ‘Rush, how does Obama know this? He\u2019s never had to work hard for anything.\u2019 That\u2019s a good point. But he knows it because he sees it. There are people who have succeeded, he resents it, partially because he hasn\u2019t. But regardless.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, sir. How are you today? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well, thank you. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. The gentleman who answered the phone is very, very polite. I just had to say that. One thing is, and I don\u2019t want to come across wrong on this, but all the oil that BP did lose in the Gulf spill — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I feel bad for how much oil they did have to lose, and I also feel bad that now that they actually lost all this oil, people are now knocking BP like they\u2019re, for whatever reason, an enemy anymore. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Who do you feel bad for? <\/p>\n

CALLER: I feel bad for BP personally. <\/p>\n

RUSH: That they lost all that oil? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. And I also feel bad for the people, all the fishermen in the Gulf. I mean, I do feel bad for everybody out there. Please don\u2019t get me wrong. It is a very devastating tragedy but I feel bad for — <\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand, but, no seriously, why do you feel sorry or feel bad for BP because they lost the oil? Because they are not going to be able to realize the income from it, that it\u2019s a financial loss? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, yeah. I mean, the financial loss, the fact that now everybody\u2019s just anti-BP technically. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I see your point. See your point. <\/p>\n

CALLER: So and if I may make one other point about the GM thing. Can I make it very quick? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, by all means. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I do remember a few years back when a female caller called. She was very depressed. Her and her husband were hurting in their business, and you offered to buy her a car, but the stipulations was it had to be a GM vehicle. And I bet you pretty much nobody remembers that. <\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I had forgotten that. I had forgotten. But you\u2019re exactly right. A great memory out there, Rocky. Somebody make a note, I want to talk about his point about the lost oil tomorrow. I don\u2019t have time to squeeze it in today, but the real point is it wasn\u2019t that much. You didn\u2019t notice the price of oil going up because supply went down, did you? I mean, to oil speculators this was a nonexistent amount of oil. There\u2019s so much we\u2019ve got, this didn\u2019t even move the markets at all. <\/p>\n
