RUSH: Yesterday on this program, right around this time, Megyn Kelly had been reported by an NBC stringer to have snuck into Trump Tower, and everybody was wondering, hmm, bzz bzz bzz bzz. Lots of buzz. What was going on, everybody was asking. I made a prediction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RUSH ARCHIVE: It wasn\u2019t that long ago that we learned that Megyn Kelly was going to host a brand-new celebrity\/newfangled Barbara Walters-type interview program on the Fox broadcast network, not Fox News. Remember that? That\u2019s about a month or two old. And it was gonna be this big, big whoop-de-doo, and to expand her career portfolio and all that, take it beyond Fox News to the Fox broadcast network. Barbara Walters used to interview “trees” and stuff before the Academy Awards, she had the Fascinating People, that kind of thing. Could be that she\u2019s over trying to get Trump for that. Make up to break up kind of stuff. Who knows, folks. Just my wild guess.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: And it turned out my wild guess nailed it. Last night on The Kelly File, Megyn Kelly.<\/p>\n

KELLY: You may have heard the news today that yours truly took a trip over to Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City. There I had a meeting with Donald Trump. The meeting was at my request, and Mr. Trump was gracious enough to agree to it. We met for about an hour, just the two of us, and had a chance to clear the air. Mr. Trump and I discussed the possibility of an interview, and I hope we will have news to announce on that soon.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is just — (laughing) — I don\u2019t know. Something about this, well, it\u2019s interesting. (interruption) Yeah, I know. (interruption) No, no! No, no, no. Don\u2019t go there. That\u2019s not what I\u2019m talking about at all. No, no, no, no, no. Don\u2019t. Every so often the reasons why my staff does not have their own microphones are abundantly clear. And what just happened is one of those moments. No, there\u2019s no — I\u2019m trying to imagine myself in a situation like this and I can\u2019t see it. <\/p>\n

(imitating Kelly) “You might have had seen, you might have had heard that I had a meeting today, and I just want to tell you I did, and I went in there and –” I don\u2019t know. That\u2019s just it. I have super-secret meetings. Nobody knows about them. That\u2019s it, that\u2019s the whole point. <\/p>\n

Last night on Fox News Trump — I\u2019m just kidding. Ah, slap me. Last night on Fox News, this is last night on Hannity, Hannity had Trump on, and it was in Pittsburgh. Trump had a big deal in Pittsburgh. Oh, by the way, do we have that sound bite? Let me check something coming up here? Do we have the Joe Paterno — yeah, yeah, that\u2019s coming up next. <\/line><\/p>\n

So they\u2019re talking about Megyn Kelly. Sean Hannity says to Trump, “You met with Megyn Kelly. You met with Megyn Kelly today. How did that go?” <\/p>\n

(AUDIENCE BOOING)<\/p>\n

Wait a minute, wait a minute, hold it a minute, recue that. Was that audience booing? Is that what that was? I couldn\u2019t hear. There were boos in there? Oh, no kidding. Okay, so Hannity says, “You met with Megyn Kelly today. How did that go,” and then there\u2019s booing? She got booed by — oh, well, here we go.<\/p>\n

TRUMP: Well, you know, she called last week, and they set up the meeting. They said, “Could we come up?” And I said, “Would you come to Trump Tower because, you know, I didn\u2019t want any confusion,” and she did. And she was very, very nice, and we had a meeting, and she was very nice. Maybe she felt it was time. And, by the way, in all fairness, I give her a lot of credit for doing what she did, \u2019cause I don\u2019t know, that took a certain amount — by the way, let\u2019s see what happens.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, so it\u2019s confirmed that she came up. Trump wanted the meeting at Trump Tower. He wanted it seen that she was coming to him. He wanted it seen that she was entering his building. He didn\u2019t want there to be any confusion about that. (interruption) What? No, no, would you just stop it. I\u2019m not even thinking things like that.
