RUSH: I keep hearing people complain to me — and, by the way, this is not a new complaint. I\u2019ve had people complain to me about George W. Bush along the same lines. What the complaint is… It\u2019s from suburban women or it\u2019s about suburban women and the argument takes many forms, but there\u2019s always a consistency to it.<\/p>\n

The argument used to be, “Well, you\u2019ve gonna get rid of abortion!” (sigh) I can\u2019t… (stuttering) Sorry for the stuttering. I just can\u2019t tell you the number of times either after we have won an election or lost one, people who think that I have — and I\u2019m go back. This is covering 20 years now, people who think I have some say-so over what Republican Party policy is.<\/p>\n

They will come to me and say, “When are you gonna get \u2019em to stop abortion? When are you gonna get the Christians to shut up? When are you gonna get the Christians kicked out of the party? They\u2019re killing us! Abortion is killing us. We\u2019re never gonna win the women! You got to get \u2019em to shut up about it.” That\u2019s basically been what I\u2019ve had to put up with after every Republican election.<\/p>\n

\"\"Particularly among elite, wealthy Republican women and their husbands, \u2019cause their husbands don\u2019t like being nagged about it. So their husbands come up to me, “What are we gonna do about it? You gotta do something about this. You gotta get \u2019em to stop talking about abortion. You gotta get \u2019em to stop worrying about all the prayer-in-school stuff. You gotta…”<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve told them every time, “You can\u2019t win another election if you do that. They are a minimum 24 million votes. You don\u2019t have a chance of winning jack if you get rid of them.” But now the way it manifests itself is people come up to me complaining to me about Trump turning off suburban women. Has that happened to you Mr. Snerdley? (interruption)<\/p>\n

It happens to me usually driven by a news story, and the news story will be the Drive-Bys reporting on whatever the event is, and then they will conclude that suburban women are the ones most disturbed by the president\u2019s debate performance, or the suburban women are the ones most disturbed by the president\u2019s tweets, or suburban women are the ones most bothered by the president\u2019s orange hair or whatever it is.<\/p>\n

Suburban women. Suburban, educated white women. And I have a different take, see? See, I\u2019m not a naturally defensive person. If anybody comes to me and they\u2019re echoing a Drive-By Media report, then to me the answer is not what\u2019s wrong with Trump. What\u2019s wrong with these suburban women? Why do you want to follow the mantra of the media, for crying out loud?<\/p>\n

This is something else that bugs me to no end. People in our own party who go by the media and if the media destroys one of us, they sit by and let it happen. They claim there\u2019s nothing we can do. “Rush, we have to nominate people the media are not gonna kill. That\u2019s the only way to go forward. We have to nominate people…” Meaning candidates, judges.<\/p>\n

“We have to have candidates that the mainstream media is not gonna destroy like Sarah Palin,” and I have a different take. Why should we be listening as though suburban women are gospel on this? “Well, Rush, you better pay attention, \u2019cause they end up voting and they talk to a lot of people.” I know. But why are they hands off? Why can\u2019t we go try and talk to them and tell \u2019em maybe they\u2019re looking at this the wrong way?<\/p>\n

Maybe they\u2019re listening to the media on these things and maybe they\u2019re believing a bunch of things about Trump that aren\u2019t true. “Well, that\u2019s too hard. I — I couldn\u2019t do that.” Oh, so you just want to cave? So suburban women… This is what I\u2019m told. Suburban women\u2019s sensitivity is offended by Trump\u2019s coarseness or his frankness or his tweeting or other aspects of his personality.<\/p>\n

But at the same time, you know what bothers me? They\u2019ve got no problem with Joe Biden\u2019s rudeness. They\u2019ve got no problem with Joe Biden hiding in the basement. They\u2019ve got no problem with Joe Biden not telling a single person who or what he\u2019s for. No. All we hear about is what suburban women think of Trump. Now, it tells me they may not even be Republican women.<\/p>\n

I think when the Drive-By Media are involved, my instinctive reaction is to not believe what I\u2019m hearing from the sample of people they\u2019re talking to. Why is it that suburban women don\u2019t have any trouble with Marxism? Why is it suburban women don\u2019t have any trouble with the Democrats destroying their own cities and states?<\/p>\n

Why is it suburban women are totally cool with Black Lives Matter rolling into town and firebombing this business or that, looting this business or that, running people off the road, creating general mayhem? Why do suburban women not care about any of that? Why do suburban women…? Why are they not offended by the outright misbehavior of the Democrat Party and their noted allies?<\/p>\n

We\u2019re just supposed to sit here and assume that suburban women are perfectly fine with Marxism? They\u2019re perfectly fine with Black Lives Matter as a communist organization, and they don\u2019t care about that? There\u2019s nothing to be concerned about there? But, man, when it comes to Trump\u2019s tweets, when it comes to Trump\u2019s debate whatever? “Oh, we can\u2019t have that! No, we can\u2019t.”<\/p>\n

But we can certainly stand idly by and watch Portland be burned to the ground. We can watch the same thing happen to Seattle. We can watch it happen in Minneapolis. We can watch shotgun death after this gun death over and over and over again in Chicago of young black youth, and apparently suburban women don\u2019t care about any of that. They don\u2019t care who\u2019s responsible for it. No.<\/p>\n

All they care about is the reprobate nature of Donald Trump\u2019s behavior and his character. I say, wait a minute. Time to call a halt to the proceedings here. It doesn\u2019t make any sense. Suburban women are like any other group. They\u2019re not infallible. “Well, they are, Rush, cause you need \u2019em. That\u2019s why this matters, Rush. You Republicans need those suburban women and you\u2019re losing \u2019em.”<\/p>\n

We\u2019re losing \u2019em because of you. We\u2019re losing \u2019em because of lies that you\u2019re telling and the cover-ups you\u2019re engaging in. You are not telling the people of this country what is being done to this country by agents of the Democrat Party. You are not framing this election the proper way. You\u2019re not telling people that this election is about whether the United States as founded survives or not.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t dare tell \u2019em that because you don\u2019t support the United States as founded. You support the overthrow, you support the revolution that is the Democrat Party. Black Lives Matter is the revolution wing of the Democrat Party, and you support it. So you don\u2019t even frame the election the right way, media. No, you come along and you tell us suburban women have a big problem with Trump, the guy trying to save this country so that these women we\u2019re talking about will have liberty and freedom and a future that they have mistakenly assumed is just going to be there no matter who wins elections.<\/p>\n

We got people thinking this election is about Donald Trump tweeting, about Donald Trump\u2019s hair, Donald Trump\u2019s coarseness or whatever. They have been totally disserviced and misled about what this election\u2019s really about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. It\u2019s an honor to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I am a white, educated, suburban woman. And I support the president 100 percent. And while I do know other women like me, I think that the issue is that many of these other women who say they don\u2019t like his tweets or his rhetoric and how he says things, that they\u2019re looking for someone that\u2019s just going to make them feel better.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re much more self-centered and looking their life alone, and they don\u2019t like the way Trump says things. Instead, they need to be looking at what Trump is actually doing. The old saying of actions speak louder than words. Trump is absolutely a person where you can look and see what he has done more than what he says.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: That\u2019s so right on the money. What he\u2019s done is not hidden. I don\u2019t need it translated for you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, not at all. Not at all. You know, I was not a supporter of Trump to start with. I thought he was kind of pompous, and I didn\u2019t particularly care for him. But as the debates were going on in the primary, my husband and I kept saying, “Oh, my gosh. We agree with Trump more than anyone.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And now that he\u2019s been in the office for so long, you know, for these past three and a half years, the things that he has done have just been incredible. I mean, we are in a much better position now as a family than we were before he was elected. Our taxes have gone down, and we are considered upper middle class. So, you know, Joe Biden saying that, you know, our taxes won\u2019t go up under him, yes, they will, because we got a tax cut.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re gonna go up a tremendous, tremendous amount. You need to tell these other women that you run into, if you do, that there are a lot of people that are voting for Trump that in normal times wouldn\u2019t, but these are not normal times, Maria, which you know, they\u2019re not normal times. Trump may be the only guy who can save this country from the onslaught from within that we face.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s Gretchen in Eastern Maryland. Welcome. It\u2019s great to have you here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It is great to be you on you, Rush. I want you to know two things. I pray for you, and I hope that everything is gonna turn out okay for you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very, very much. I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re very welcome. And my friends who are also white suburban women, most of them, you know, we are all part of the silent majority, and we are going to be heard. And while I doubt sometimes — I get this terrified feeling because of where this could go, but then in my gut I think it\u2019s coming. I think it is gonna happen.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You think what\u2019s gonna happen?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That Trump will get reelected.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, you\u2019ve had some doubts about that, you mean?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Not doubts, but just like, oh, my God. You know?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it\u2019s okay to have doubts, be perfectly natural.<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: Yeah, I mean, I do. We don\u2019t have signs in our yards \u2019cause we don\u2019t want to put up with a bunch of crap.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But I have a flag in my backyard that I love. So, you know, women don\u2019t need to like him. Women don\u2019t need to want to have him over for dinner. You know, what has he done? He\u2019s done what he said he was gonna do. He is doing so many good things that when I look at people who just flat-out —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, let me tell you something, Gretchen. This stuff is real, and it\u2019s not exclusive to Trump. I have faced it my entire career. I have been told that — this is probably about 10 years ago — that young, college-age women just hated it, the more confident I sounded. They hated it. Nobody\u2019s supposed to be that sure of themselves. And nobody is. It\u2019s a sign of a closed-minded blowhard, is what I was told by a mother who had a 20-year-old daughter who despised me.<\/p>\n

I said, “Why?”<\/p>\n

“You\u2019re so sure of yourself. You\u2019re so confident. And you laugh at other people.” Well, okay, I have to be who I am. If I start — I\u2019ve said this forever — if I start trying to change who I am based on every bit of criticism, I\u2019m gonna stop being whoever I am. But my point is that I have been told myself that a certain type of woman does not like me at all. If it\u2019s not that I\u2019m too sure of myself and too confident, it\u2019s that I\u2019m too loud, that women that age woman – it\u2019s not like the yelling or screaming. It\u2019s the certitude that accompanies confidence.<\/p>\n

So when I hear that suburban women, particularly college-educated white women, don\u2019t like Trump because of his mannerisms, it doesn\u2019t surprise me. I\u2019ve heard it. I\u2019ve been there, done that. And what I\u2019ve learned is, there\u2019s no changing it. There\u2019s nothing Trump could do, I don\u2019t think, that\u2019s gonna change their mind. What they\u2019re thinking is not — gotta be very careful — I don\u2019t think it\u2019s rational to begin with. But it is real in the sense that\u2019s what they think and feel, and that\u2019s how they\u2019re reacting, and that\u2019s what they say is the reason for their reacting, so in that sense you do have to deal with. Gretchen, thanks very much.<\/p>\n

\"\"By the way, have you noticed that the Biden campaign is not denying anything in the New York Post stories? They\u2019re not denying a thing. In fact, what they\u2019re doing, the Biden team, the Democrats are praising Twitter and Facebook for suppressing and banning the stories, because they\u2019re not true. They\u2019re not true. And this is the only responsible thing to do.<\/p>\n

But, you know, that\u2019s not how media works. You know, media doesn\u2019t pick sides — except we know that it does. Media doesn\u2019t ban stories it thinks are not true. God bless us for four years we had to put up with abject drivel, made-up cock and bull from NBC, ABC, CBS, and the New York Times about Trump colluding with Russia. Literally made up BS as often as four times a day.<\/p>\n

There has yet to be an apology to their readers. There has yet to be a request from the Pulitzer organization for the prizes back. Anyway, you know the drill on that. It\u2019s just the media does not do what they\u2019re doing with the Biden story. They don\u2019t look at stories, “That\u2019s not true, we\u2019re not publishing. That\u2019s not true.” That\u2019s what they do when they\u2019re trying to protect and save somebody.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
