RUSH: James in Indiana, great to have you with us. You\u2019re up first today. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thanks for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have a question. I\u2019m a pretty moderate Democrat, and I listen to your show as often as I can.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I respect your opinion.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I see our politics today and our society coming to a crossroads politically. How do you see us bridging the gap between liberals and conservatives and actually getting something done?<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s no way of bridging the gap. I, after 23 years, have learned personally there\u2019s no bridging the gap. By that I mean how do we get the two sides together? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Not necessarily, but just enough, just close enough to get things done.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ain\u2019t gonna happen.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The president from my party is not doing anything, and I\u2019m like we gotta do something —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m just trying to be realistic with you here, it\u2019s not possible to bridge a gap close enough with liberals to want to get things done, because the things they want to get done have literally nothing in common with what I want done. We have nothing in common. The Constitution is an obstacle to them; it\u2019s the Bible to me. And I don\u2019t know about you; I don\u2019t compromise on the Bible.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And I don\u2019t compromise on the Constitution. So to me the solution to this is they must be beaten, politically, they must be beaten. And then you, as a moderate Democrat, have to learn that there\u2019s no such thing as a moderate Democrat. If you\u2019re a Democrat of any kind, you\u2019re a Democrat. If you vote Democrat you\u2019re voting liberal in any constitution, you have to be beaten, too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
