RUSH: Global warming. We set an all-time record. Well, West Palm Beach did. That is across the river. It\u2019s always a little warmer here on the ocean. West Palm Beach set an overnight low record, all-time low of 32 degrees. I got a note from a friend of mine this morning. ‘You\u2019ve been down there since 1997. Has it ever been this cold?\u2019 I said, ‘Nope, and certainly not even close this time of year.\u2019 I mean, yeah, since 1997 we\u2019ve been in the high thirties at night a couple of days, but in January or February. Not in December. Hell, it was 45 in Nassau last night! Now, for all the hangers-on on global warming, this is it. You know, you don\u2019t need to tell \u2019em that there isn\u2019t any global warming. This has been going on two years. This is the second or third winter in a row now where it\u2019s been winter before winter even comes. <\/p>\n

Around the world record snowfalls in the UK, and this is one of the reasons why these people have changed their name to ‘climate change.\u2019 But it\u2019s all falling apart. We know, you and I who have studied it, we know the whole thing was from the get-go a fraud. We know it\u2019s a hoax. It\u2019s just more liberalism: Lying to the American people, the people of the world about their role in destroying the planet so as to set \u2019em up to agree with having their taxes raised, a global government to ‘distribute resources fairly,\u2019 save the planet, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But if you\u2019re gonna tell people they got global warming, it better start getting hot — and if it doesn\u2019t get hotter (and if it starts getting demonstrably record-breaking colder) they have a problem. Yet in the Washington Post, a story by Brian Palmer.<\/p>\n

‘Which Country is Worse for Emissions, India or China?\u2019 Why does that matter? (New Castrati impression) ‘Mr. Limbaugh, everyone knows that CO2 emissions are responsible for global warming!\u2019 Really? Really, Mr. New Castrati? Well, then don\u2019t we need more of \u2019em? It\u2019s colder than a witch\u2019s upper torso out there and these people are running around worried about emissions? ‘[F]orced to choose between the rising Asian powers, China is clearly poised to do more environmental damage over the next few decades than India. Although its per-capita emissions are lower, China surpassed the United States as the largest total emitter of greenhouse gases in 2007.\u2019 By the way, they\u2019ve always been exempt from any worldwide emissions program. ‘Yet, despite its surging environmental exploitation, China may be better poised than India to address pollution and climate change.\u2019<\/p>\n

Why does all this matter? It\u2019s all a hoax! ‘Emissions\u2019 cannot possibly be leading to global warming \u2019cause it isn\u2019t getting warmer, and I don\u2019t want to hear, ‘Mr. Limbaugh, the day-to-day temperatures and weather is far different than the study of climate science.\u2019 It may be but you\u2019re gonna have a tough time convincing everybody freezing themselves to death while their heat bills go up and up and up while you tell \u2019em they are destroying the planet with global warming. So we are in the midst of — nothing is real — a fraud a day brought to you by the left. Everything\u2019s a hoax, and it\u2019s all designed to separate you from your money and to agree with enhanced government powers around the world. And people are very willing to accept responsibility. Everybody wants to matter. That\u2019s one thing I\u2019ve learned over my short but highly valuable and productive life: Everybody wants to matter. Nobody likes to say think they\u2019re irrelevant. Nobody likes to say get up every day and think that their life doesn\u2019t count, it doesn\u2019t affect anything, it doesn\u2019t matter. <\/p>\n

So, these leftists come along and say, ‘You have destroyed the planet.\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘Oh, good! I have the power to do that? Cool.\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘You have the power to save it.\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘I do?\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘Yes, you do! You certainly do, Hilda. You have led to the near destruction of our climate, but you, Hilda, can save the world.\u2019<\/p>\n

‘Really? How?\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘Well, you must start driving certain kinds of cars. You must stop using certain kinds of appliances. You must always vote Democrat. You must be prepared to pay higher taxes.\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘Is that all? And I\u2019ll matter? I can save the planet?\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘That\u2019s right, Hilda. That\u2019s all you have to do.\u2019 <\/p>\n

And, of course, the younger you go, the more fashionable all this is: Mattering, saving the world, blah, blah, blah. That\u2019s part of the rite of passage, thinking that you\u2019re gonna do that. That\u2019s what half the people go into journalism to do. Think they\u2019re saving the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
