RUSH: When the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series, Republicans win the White House, according to pollster Frank Luntz. (interruption) “When is the World Series?” Well, it\u2019s on right now. Brian, are you paying any attention…? (interruption) Yes, I was gonna say: The Dodgers won the World Series last night, Snerdley. That\u2019s why Frank Luntz is saying what he\u2019s saying.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I gotta be honest. I didn\u2019t know that. You know what? I\u2019ll tell you what else. I didn\u2019t realize there was a Monday Night Football game. I was watching other things. I had no idea. I didn\u2019t know there was a Monday Night Football game \u2019til I got up Tuesday and read the score. I don\u2019t even remember. Was it the Giants that played in the Monday night game? (interruption)<\/p>\n

See, we don\u2019t even know! Is this not incredible? Years ago, Monday Night Football would have been appointment television for me, and I didn\u2019t even remember that they were playing. (interruption) Next Monday night is the Buccaneers, Tampa Buccaneers. Who are they playing? (interruption) You don\u2019t even know. All right.<\/p>\n

Anyway, what\u2019s interesting about this Luntz business is that Luntz has been out there saying that Trump doesn\u2019t have a prayer; that if his business — if his industry, the polling industry, if they get it wrong this time, again — if they blow it like they blew it in 2016, they may as well shut down. So now here comes Luntz saying when the Dodgers win the World Series, Republicans win the White House.<\/p>\n

I have to tell you, I didn\u2019t even know.<\/p>\n

I knew the World Series… I knew they are gonna play it, and I knew they were gonna play it in Texas, but I didn\u2019t know when it was on. I\u2019m sorry to admit it, but I didn\u2019t know. I guess you won\u2019t know until a player tests positive for COVID; then everybody knows what\u2019s going on. “Republican pollster Frank Luntz told Fox Business\u2019 Maria Bartiromo [that] 81% of Trump voters think that their candidate will win.”<\/p>\n

Now, I know that Frank Luntz doesn\u2019t think much of Trump supporters. He doesn\u2019t like \u2019em. Luntz is an inside-the-Beltway kind of guy. That\u2019s where his business is focused. That\u2019s who his clients are, and so this whole Trump winning, it\u2019s kind of put a damper for some people inside the Beltway.<\/p>\n

“Luntz said in order for Trump to be successful he ‘must win\u2019 Florida, Ohio and North Carolina. ‘Those states are too close to call right now and every one of those states is required for a Republican to win nationwide,\u2019 he explained. On the other hand, Luntz said Democrats are ‘looking at the three states in the industrial Midwest: Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.\u2019<\/p>\n

“Luntz said the battleground states include Nevada and Minnesota. ‘Those are the states that Republicans are eyeing very carefully because they\u2019ve got a shot in those two states. So, in reality, this is not a nationwide election. This is a state-by-state election,\u2019 Luntz said,” which it always is, always has been. But whatever. Look, and I\u2019m not trying to jump in Luntz\u2019s chili here.<\/p>\n

The fact is the last two times I\u2019ve seen Luntz on TV, he\u2019s been swearing up and down that Trump doesn\u2019t have a prayer, that the pollsters are right, that they can\u2019t be wrong again. If they\u2019re wrong again, it\u2019s gonna be time to shut down the whole polling industry, that they can\u2019t get it as wrong as bad as they did in 2016.<\/p>\n

So now for Luntz to come along and start telling us what Trump\u2019s road to victory is, I\u2019m just a little confused, and here\u2019s the bit about the Dodgers. “‘Every time the Los Angeles Dodgers have won the World Series in the last 35 years… Republicans have won the White House,\u2019 Luntz said” to Maria Bartiromo. The Dodgers won “the World Series in Game 6 against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. ‘I don\u2019t know if that is a correlation,\u2019 Luntz said adding that the game was ‘quite an evening.'”<\/p>\n
