I grew up, born and raised in Oakland. I\u2019m a 44-year-old black man and when I tell people on my job, Hispanic and black, that I listen to Rush Limbaugh, they have a fit, and you know why they have a fit, Rush? Because of ignorance. I said, &#8216;You need to listen to the man. He is a down brother, okay?\u2019 I love you, Rush. I want to let you know that the reason why so many people dislike you is because you speak the truth. You expose the truth, and you do it with evidence. Keep it up, Rush. I love you, man.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, I appreciate that. Thanks very much. That takes some guts for Marlon to even call here and say. But even after 22 years, you should hear some of the comments I\u2019m getting from The Haney Project. &#8216;I had no idea you were so funny.\u2019 Really? You\u2019ve known me for 15, I\u2019ve been doing the radio show for 22 years or so. It\u2019s fascinating. There\u2019s a story, I forget who sent me this. It\u2019s a story about how the Democrats don\u2019t control the media anymore, liberals don\u2019t control the media. Look at Fox, look at Limbaugh, look at this, look at that, look at the other. I don\u2019t know how you want to define controlling the media, but I can tell you that people who have not listened to this program have been entirely misinformed about who I am and what I believe and what happens on this program, by somebody. I mean there is an active media and a Democrat Party which has been focused on mischaracterizing, not just me. So whether they dominate or control it anymore, they still have a considerable amount of influence, and the proof of it is &#8212; I literally am stunned. I got a note from Vince Flynn who\u2019s up there in Minneapolis digging out of the snow, he said, &#8216;Lisa,\u2019 his wife &#8216;and I, we just finished watching the episode.\u2019 He said, &#8216;I\u2019m hearing from more and more of my friends, they had no idea how hilarious you are.\u2019 I\u2019ll take it. Don\u2019t misunderstand.
