RUSH: I am honored and flattered that you are in this audience, and I\u2019m honored that you called. And, by the way, you\u2019re in an SUV?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I\u2019m in a semi-truck right now, but I drive an SUV when I\u2019m home.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, okay listen to this. This story from Bloomington, Indiana: ‘The director of the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in Indiana says he and his staff are praying for the family of the Dalai Lama\u2019s nephew after he was killed by an SUV in Florida during a walk to promote Tibetan independence.\u2019 So we\u2019re back now to the SUV is a killer, not the driver, the SUV. Anyway, what\u2019s up, Jeannie? I\u2019m glad you called. It\u2019s great to have you out there. Seriously, it is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. Well, I drive a truck for a living, and I\u2019m a talk news radio junkie, and yesterday I heard a couple of reports about a female CBS News reporter that was sexually assaulted and beaten severely while in Egypt when she got separated from her camera crew. And this happened on Friday. My question is why isn\u2019t Obama looking for somebody\u2019s ass to kick over this?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I mean CBS should be one of his people, you know, and Hillary Clinton, why isn\u2019t she outraged over a female reporter being sexually assaulted? I mean, it\u2019s one thing for the male reporters to have been hit with rocks or beaten or whatever, but this girl was dragged away from her camera crew and sexually assaulted for hours.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, this is Lara Logan of CBS News.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the Muslim Brotherhood, it is suspected, is behind this. Certainly it was members of the crowd. It was the Egyptian military and a bunch of women who saved her. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I can believe that. And these are the people that Obama\u2019s backing, this Muslim Brotherhood? I mean, come on, I mean why isn\u2019t there — I don\u2019t understand, you know, Rosie O\u2019Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, and Oprah Winfrey are constantly talking about women\u2019s rights in the Middle East and one of our own gets sexually assaulted over there.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, okay, you\u2019re forcing me into this. You\u2019re forcing me into this. To report widely on this totally destroys the narrative they\u2019ve set up about this is that Obama is responsible for all of the wonderful things that happened in that square to get rid of Mubarak. Obama owns the mob. They were running around asking the members of the crowd, ‘What do you think of Obama? What is your message for Obama?\u2019 So they set this thing up as this is a freedom-loving bunch, a bunch that\u2019s oriented toward freedom and democracy. Well, this doesn\u2019t fit the template. It just doesn\u2019t fit the template of who the people in the crowd were. So it\u2019s gotta sorta be downplayed a little bit. If you\u2019re outraged just by the story itself, listen to this now, Jeannie. <\/p>\n

Jim Geraghty at The Campaign Spot at National Review Online has reported that a guy at the New York Center for Law and Security named Nir Rosen has posted tweets commenting on this. And it\u2019s horrible. This guy is making light of what happened to her. Oh, she can\u2019t take it. What did she think was going to happen? This guy is a fellow at the New York University Center for Law and Security, and he posted some of his worst comments about her on his Twitter feed. He took some of them down but they\u2019re out there now, they\u2019re in the ether, and people took screen shots and they\u2019ve got the cache file. I don\u2019t know that I want to share some of these things specifically with you but I mean this guy is just unapologetic. He doesn\u2019t think it\u2019s any big deal. She deserved it. She invited it. She asked for it. What did she think was gonna happen, this kinda stuff. <\/p>\n

His name is Nir Rosen. He says: ‘I\u2019m rolling my eyes at all the attention she\u2019s gonna get because of this now. Oh, my God, I can\u2019t wait to see how everybody goes nuts over what happened.\u2019 It\u2019s like it\u2019s no big deal. He says, ‘Jesus Christ, at a moment when she\u2019s gonna become a martyr and glorified, we should at least remember her role as a major warmonger. My wife didn\u2019t dedicate her career to promoting America\u2019s wars. Look, she was probably groped like thousands of other women, which is still wrong, but if it was worse than that, I\u2019m sorry. Not really as terrible, but you had millions of people on the street. This is not exactly shocking.\u2019 <\/p>\n

These are the comments posted on the guy\u2019s Twitter feed. He made mention that he had no sympathy for her and that we should remember her as the major warmonger that we know she is. ‘Have to find humor in the small things,\u2019 he said. Jim Geraghty found this guy\u2019s tweets. That\u2019s just one reaction to it. And of course you\u2019re not gonna hear about these, either. If I hadn\u2019t found it on Geraghty\u2019s place at National Review Online, a lot of you wouldn\u2019t hear about this. But you let a conservative say things like this Nir Rosen, or even halfway, it\u2019s all over the worldwide press in a lickety-split. <\/p>\n

Lara Logan is back and due to be out of the hospital I think today, and said to be in good spirits. Nir Rosen resigned.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, more on Nir Rosen if you\u2019re interested. He has resigned from New York University. He was a ‘fellow,\u2019 which means he had a chair. Like at the Limbaugh Institute I\u2019m in the Attila the Hun chair. He had a chair. He was a distinguished fellow at the New York City Center of Law and Security. This guy is American. He regularly contributed to — well, he does contribute — to places like the Atlanta monthly, the Washington Post, the New York Times Magazine, Harper\u2019s. And the New York Post is reporting today that whoever it was that attacked Lara Logan was shouting, ‘Jew! Jew!\u2019 during their assault on her. <\/p>\n

‘Logan had told Esquire magazine the day before her attack that Egyptian soldiers were harassing her and accusing her of being an Israeli spy.\u2019 But it turned out it was 20 members of the Egyptian military that rescued her. Mr. Rosen has apologized. He said, ‘I deeply regret making insensitive but completely insincere jokes to a couple of friends on Twitter. I\u2019m deeply ashamed because they don\u2019t represent who I am, and I would like to convey my most heartfelt apologies to Ms. Logan, her family, her friends, all women, and everybody I\u2019ve hurt, angered, and disappointed.\u2019 That\u2019s the old, ‘That\u2019s not who I am\u2019 defense. It\u2019s becoming a popular defense for people who are caught being themselves. <\/p>\n

Yeah? Who was it, then? Who got hold of your Twitter account? <\/p>\n

‘That\u2019s not who I am. That\u2019s not the real me.\u2019 <\/p>\n

(interruption) Okay, Snerdley. Question? What\u2019s the question? (interruption) The question… (interruption) Oh, come on. There\u2019s no way. No way! Snerdley wants to know if broadcast executives will now refrain from sending women to these places. There\u2019s no way. I mean, just like they\u2019re not gonna reexamine sending men. Anderson Cooper got beat upside the head. (interruption) It doesn\u2019t matter he\u2019s a guy. Doesn\u2019t matter. People get beat upside the head, she was sexually assaulted. It\u2019s not gonna deter them. You think it\u2019s gonna cause \u2019em not to send women to these places? (interruption) Look, we\u2019re talking about putting women in combat in the Armed Forces for 20 years here. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s gonna change anything.
