What is Romney thinking?&#8221;  Romney has launched his own version of a Dingy Harry attack on Trump about taxes.  I\u2019m gonna tell you what Romney\u2019s doing, and then we\u2019ll get some detail on this. What I think Romney\u2019s doing, is I think Romney is freezing endorsements for Trump.  I think that in the bowels of the Republican establishment they\u2019re very worried that a bunch of Republicans are on the verge of endorsing Trump.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_118595\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/Romney-on-Fox.jpg\"\/><BR\/>And I think Romney goes out there and starts attacking Trump on his taxes to freeze any of that, to stop endorsements for Trump.  There may be something to it, too, for all I know.  There are people that don\u2019t believe Trump\u2019s worth what he says he\u2019s worth. There are people that don\u2019t believe Trump has accomplished half of what he says he accomplished in business.  There are people that think that he\u2019s done all this &#8212; his lifestyle and business &#8212; on a wing and a prayer, and that the only reason he gets away with it is the banks are so invested in him by way of loans that they can\u2019t foreclose on him without taking themselves down. <\/line><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s all kinds of people who have thinking that for years about Trump.  Romney\u2019s point is, &#8220;Hey, you know what?&#8221;  Romney\u2019s trying to make it look like he\u2019s seen Trump\u2019s taxes, and he\u2019s trying to make it look like Trump\u2019s taxes are not the taxes of a billionaire.  I mean, he\u2019s not paying very much.  This is what is being insinuated. It\u2019s what being implied.  And you\u2019re supposed to infer that, &#8220;Well, he\u2019s not paying nearly enough taxes for a billionaire, so either he\u2019s not a billionaire or he\u2019s cheating or maybe he\u2019s not donating all that money to charity that he says he is.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5VOIFRH0Zgs\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>All of this&#8230; People say, &#8220;Why would Romney do this?&#8221;  Because he\u2019s learned how effective it is, probably.  This is exactly what Dingy Harry did to him, and Romney didn\u2019t exactly handle it very well when it happened to him. So I think maybe it\u2019s just an attempt&#8230; I think he\u2019s trying to freeze Trump where he is on this possibility there might be Republican establishment types on the verge of endorsing Trump.  <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Jenny in Narrows, Virginia. Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  You bet.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  I\u2019m calling today because today I\u2019m 72 years old &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Yeah?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  &#8212; but today I\u2019m ashamed to be a Republican.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Uh-oh.  Let me guess.  You\u2019re just livid at what Romney did?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I knew it.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  And Lindsey Graham this morning.  Dear old Lindsey Graham.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  What did he do?  I haven\u2019t seen what he did today.  What did he do?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  He\u2019s doing the same thing, saying there\u2019s got to be something behind these taxes. You know, they\u2019re both doing Harry Reid-type stuff.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  And let me also guess that you think, &#8220;If they\u2019re gonna do this, it\u2019s a waste of time to do it on a Republican. Do it on the Democrats! Why don\u2019t they ever do this on the Democrats? Why do they always take their own people out?&#8221; Right?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  They\u2019re eating their own.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  That\u2019s exactly it. I knew it.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Hillary\u2019s sitting there with all her mess and nobody\u2019s eating her up for it.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Yeah, well. It\u2019s not exactly appetizing.  But I get your &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Well, yes.  But with all the problems she has &#8212; and we have Romney and that Lindsey Graham character out there just destroying their best. And I\u2019ll tell you, I\u2019m to the point I don\u2019t know whether I\u2019ll vote Tuesday or not.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Oh, come on.  You can\u2019t be serious. Who are you planning on voting for?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Cruz.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well, then this doesn\u2019t even affect that. This ought to double you down voting for Cruz on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Well, it does for that reason. But I\u2019m just sick and tired of the Republican establishment and their behavior in this.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well, look, I was able to hear it in your voice.  I knew what you were gonna say before you went into it. I could just tell.  This Romney move, this has gotten so&#8230; If they thought this was gonna hurt Trump &#8212; again, folks, I hate to be repetitive. But I really do think what they\u2019re trying to do&#8230; I think this is a totally defensive move.  I think they\u2019re trying to freeze any publicly expressed support for Trump, \u2019cause they\u2019re about to lose control of this.  From their standpoint &#8212; you\u2019ve gotta see where these establishment guys are coming from &#8212; they\u2019re about to lose control of the whole thing.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I don\u2019t know, folks.  I\u2019m still having&#8230; There\u2019s part of me&#8230; Like somebody just asked me, &#8220;Are you scared of any of this Rush? I\u2019m scared to death of it.&#8221;  I haven\u2019t gotten to the point that I\u2019m scared.  I\u2019m in dismay of all of it.  There\u2019s a lot of this stuff, I\u2019m sorry, I can\u2019t stop laughing at. (laughing) Are you kidding me, you\u2019re gonna send Mitt Romney out&#8230;? (laughing) You\u2019re gonna send Mitt Romney out to start hammering Trump over taxes? (laughing)<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_118624\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ReidCautionPIX.jpg\"\/><BR\/>A guy who you could credibly say did not recover from his own tax allegations as launched by Dingy Harry in 2012, and then you\u2019re gonna send Mitt Romney out to start questioning Trump\u2019s wealth as not being as much as he would like you to believe it is? When you, Mitt Romney, were practically destroyed because you\u2019re so rich you didn\u2019t care about an employee\u2019s wife dying from cancer. (interruption) No, no.  That\u2019s what they said.  I\u2019m not saying that Romney didn\u2019t care.  I\u2019m saying, of all the people to send out there with this charge.  And how does Trump respond to it? <\/line><\/p>\n<p>(summarized) &#8220;Well, here comes Mitt Romney, a total loser, trying to act like a tough guy now.&#8221;  So Trump has posted a picture on Instagram. (laughing) Do you remember when Ronald Reagan, during a State of the Union speech, brought out a-five-foot-high Stack of paper to represent the budget?  Well, Trump has a five-foot Stack of paper, and he\u2019s signing one page.  It\u2019s his tax return.  And the caption is, &#8220;I have a store that\u2019s worth more than Mitt Romney.&#8221;  That\u2019s&#8230; (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re talking about (laughing) the presidential campaign here, and I feel like I\u2019m in the movie Idiocracy.  There\u2019s a portion of every day, almost every day where I feel like I\u2019m in that movie, or like we are watching it.  And I have the same chuckles on the Democrat side. But I don\u2019t want anybody to get confused.  If there\u2019s anything that scares me &#8212; and, look, I\u2019ve been serious enough over the course of this campaign.
