Great to have you on the program, sir.  Hi.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Hi, Rush.  Conservative vegetarian dittos to start out with.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well, thank you very much, sir.  I trust as a conservative vegetarian you\u2019re not militant about it.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Exactly.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Good, good, good.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  What I wanted to ask was what evidence is there for Trump supporters to think that he would have any more respect for the Constitution than Obama does?  I mean, they\u2019re both progressives.  And Trump has seemed to change his mind on so many things lately, but the main thing is just why do they think he would honor the Constitution?<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ObamaDictator.jpg\"\/><BR\/>RUSH:  Well, have you asked that of any Trump supporters that you know?<\/line><\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  No.  I don\u2019t know very many.  I do know one in particular, but, no, I have not asked.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  See, I think most Trump supporters lost you when you started comparing him to Obama.  I think they don\u2019t get that.  They don\u2019t see Trump as a progressive.  And I don\u2019t think they see him as a conservative.  They see him as not of Washington.  They see him as an outsider who understands them, understands their plight, who joins them in thinking the problems in this country all emanate from a too-stupid government that it\u2019s too big and too overbearing and too regulatory.  When it comes to Trump, I don\u2019t think his supporters are even thinking who he might put on the Supreme Court.  I think it\u2019s much more personal.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Well, I just want to know why, if we don\u2019t go by the Constitution, what do we have to guide it?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Agreed.  Agreed.  I need to ask, what is it that Trump\u2019s done, said, not said, not done, that made you believe he is not respectful of it?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Well, when he talks, he sounds a lot like &#8212; I hate to use the analogy, like Obama again, that he has a phone and a pen, he makes it sound like I\u2019m gonna do this, I\u2019m gonna do that.  I haven\u2019t heard him mention this &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Oh, I get it.  You\u2019re worried that Trump is sounding like Obama in the authoritarian sense, that Obama\u2019s out there saying if he doesn\u2019t get what he wants with Congress, he\u2019ll just do it with an executive order. And Trump\u2019s out there saying he\u2019s gonna do this, he\u2019s gonna do that, he\u2019s gonna do that, and you\u2019re worried that his supporters are signing off on the same kind of authoritarian, outside-the-Constitution behavior that Obama\u2019s engaging in, yet they\u2019re supporting it for Trump. <\/p>\n<p><img class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/TrumpAmerica.jpg\"\/><BR\/>It might surprise people to learn that some people actually wouldn\u2019t mind that.  This is the danger, I think, when you have &#8212; and I don\u2019t know how many Trump supporters this is.  It\u2019s probably not a lot, but there\u2019s some people who think that the country is in such dire straits that it may take drastic action, that we don\u2019t have time to go through the normal channels to stop some of this stuff, to reverse it.  If Obama does an executive order letting \u2019em in, we\u2019re gonna do an executive order kicking \u2019em out.  The hell with going through Congress.  Can\u2019t trust those creeps anyway.  And they think Trump\u2019s the guy to do it. <\/line><\/p>\n<p>You know who mostly articulates those fears to me?  A bunch of leftist media types who sit there and applaud it when Obama does it.  But they worry that the Trump support base is ignorant and is, by a quirk of fate, actually endorsing and supporting almost dictatorial powers in the executive.  Yet applaud it when Obama engages in those kind of things.  Like I say, I\u2019ve spent weeks and months analyzing and explaining the Trump support base.  It would be too long to go through the whole thing again. <\/p>\n<p>I just want to remind you of something, though.  When Trump lights into Ted Cruz there\u2019s nothing authoritarian about it.  He lights into Ted Cruz as unable to work with the guys in the Senate because they hate him.  Trump says you gotta do deals with those guys.  Remember Trump said, &#8220;I can do deals with Pelosi. I can do deals with Schumer. I know those guys, I like \u2019em, I can do deals with those people.&#8221;  But Trump says that Cruz can\u2019t because they hate him, so Cruz would be a disaster.  Wait a minute, what do you mean do deals with those people?  And Trump\u2019s asked about it, &#8220;What do you mean?  We don\u2019t want to do deals with &#8211;&#8221; Trump says, &#8220;No, no.  The deals I do, they lose.&#8221;  Oh, okay, fine.  &#8220;Yeah, the deals I do, we\u2019re gonna win.  My deals win.  When we do a deal, my ideas triumph.  When we do a deal, it\u2019s my deal.  I\u2019m gonna kick their ass,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p>Okay, okay, fine, you\u2019re gonna deal with them and kick their butts, then fine.  But make no mistake out there, Andy, Trump has sent signals that he\u2019s gonna work with people and make deals with \u2019em, even though he\u2019s gonna snooker \u2019em.  Not snooker.
