RUSH: I\u2019m not kidding on this, either. John Kerry thanked Iran for humiliating our sailors, one of whom was a woman, by the way. He thanked \u2019em for rescuing \u2019em, thanked \u2019em for humiliating them. Well, that\u2019s what he thanked \u2019em for. He thanked the Iranians for capturing Americans engaged in harmless activity on a boat.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here, you gotta hear this. This is John Kerry. I mentioned earlier that he thanked the Iranians for taking our sailors hostage and humiliating them, and that\u2019s not far off the truth. Here is his sound bite from the State Department this morning.<\/p>\n

\nKERRY: I also want to thank the Iranian authorities for their cooperation and quick response. These are always situations which, as everybody here knows, have an ability, if not properly guided, to get out of control, and I\u2019m appreciative for the quick and appropriate response of the Iranian authorities.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, all it takes is $150 billion in cash and a promise they can nuke up and they\u2019ll give us back some soldiers they took hostage. What the hell is this? They take some hostages, they capture a couple little dinky boats we got running around over there, and they take the people on board hostage, and they release \u2019em, and we thank them. “I want to thank the Iranian authorities for their cooperation, quick response. These are always situations which, as everybody here knows, have the ability, if not properly guided, to get out of control.”<\/p>\n
He really wanted to thank the Iranians for taking our guys hostage and not doing anything worse, and we want to thank the Iranians: after taking our guys hostage, they gave \u2019em back. We really appreciate that. We\u2019re sorry. That\u2019s what he\u2019s essentially apologizing for what we did. But, as I was saying, folks, give somebody $150 billion and a green light to do a nuclear weapon? I mean, you\u2019re buying a lot of friendship there.<\/p>\n

RUSH: In the meantime, “Controversy Explodes Over Iranian Images of US Sailors — Iran on Wednesday released a series of images and videos showing the 10 US Navy sailors it apprehended Tuesday, inflaming the American debate over their capture, including the question of whether the US had formally apologized for entering Iranian territory. Iranian media — Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting News Agency, Tasnim News Agency and the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network — published roughly two-dozen photos and five videos, two of which feature a male sailor apologizing and praising Iran\u2019s treatment.<\/p>\n
“‘It was a mistake that was our fault, and we apologize for our mistake,\u2019 the man says in one video. ‘The Iranian behavior was fantastic while we were here and we thank you very much for your hospitality and your assistance,\u2019 he says in another. ‘We had no problems here.'” (snorts) Think of it what you will. That\u2019s what the Iranians released as having transpired: We apologized and praised them for treating us well and the whole thing was our fault.<\/p>\n
Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This Iranian business. Folks, you can think what you want, but I\u2019m gonna tell you something. This kind of story where we apologized, and, “Boy the Iranians were so nice. Oh, my God, it was so much fun be with them! They were so nice. It was our fault; we shouldn\u2019t have been there. We apologize. they treated us so well,” you might think that\u2019s cool. I\u2019m telling you, that\u2019s one of the biggest propaganda victories that this Satanic country could get.<\/p>\n

\nIn the Middle East, where this is the kind of stuff that matters, it\u2019s gonna make it look like they totally dominate us. It\u2019s gonna come across as another huge victory over the Great Satan, the United States of America. Now, last nightin his State of the Union speech, Obama\u2019s going on and on, “We\u2019re the most powerful country in the world! we got the best fighting force in the world. We got the best military in the world! We spend more on our military than the first eight nations behind us combined. We got the greatest battle machine world!”<\/p>\n
Ask yourself a question. All of that may be true. We may be the most powerful nation in the world. What kind of rules of engagement are they saddled with. But more importantly than that, why…? I\u2019m dead serious about this. Why, given that fact we have the most powerful military, the greatest fighting force ever — we can project more power than any nation on earth can even dream of — why are all of our enemies growing in power? Why are they getting bigger? Why are they stronger? Why are our enemies more dangerous than ever? Why are they bigger, more dangerous, and wreaking more havoc than ever before under Obama?<\/p>\n
That\u2019s how you measure it. We can have the best, most powerful fighting force in the world and if it\u2019s led by a wuss or somebody who thinks that it\u2019s the problem in the world, what good is it, under his command? And make no mistake: Barack Hussein Obama is one of these people that thinks the United States military is one of the greatest problems in the world, historically and at present. Do not doubt me. It falls right in line with this whole belief system that in the United States is not the solution to the world\u2019s problems. We are the problem.<\/p>\n

\nHenceforth we\u2019ve gotta get out. We\u2019ve got extricate ourselves, \u2019cause we have caused all these problems, caused all this animosity, we have caused all this angst out there. We\u2019ve done it. Well, the US military is our agent. (sigh) So you can brag about the military all you want, Mr. President, but how come every enemy of consequence is more powerful than it was seven years ago? Bigger and stronger than it was seven years ago, and more successful than it was seven years ago. That\u2019s the question.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s that sailor apologizing now. This is Iranian state TV. They played a video of an unidentified man that they said was allegedly the commander of American naval forces captured by Iran. So all of this comes from Iran, that these are captured sailors, and that Iran is alleging that he was the captain. Iran\u2019s alleging that he apologized. So that\u2019s the caveat. Here is the video from Iranian state TV.<\/p>\n
MAN: It was a mistake that was our fault, and we apologize for our mistake. It was a misunderstanding. We did not mean to go into Iranian territorial waters.<\/p>\n

\nRUSH: Okay, so that\u2019s what it is. Now, what do you think the odds are somebody in the United States military had a phone to these guys saying, “This is what you say. We\u2019ve greased the skids for your release. This is what you have to say”? Or the Iranians are making it up, and those are not really US sailors, and it\u2019s just really good English-speaking people being presented as sailors. Listen to Plugs Biden. BIDEN: One of the boats had engine f-failure, drifted into Iranian waters. The Iranians picked up both boats — as we have picked up Iranian boats that needed to be rescued — and took them to… Uh, uh, uh, I\u2019m not sure exactly where. I don\u2019t want to misspeak, here. And, uh, and realized they were there in distress and said they were [going to] release them and released them. Like, y\u2019know, ordinary nations would do. That\u2019s the way nations should deal with one another. That\u2019s why it\u2019s important to have channels open. We have, ummmm —<\/p>\n
WOMAN: Did we we apologize to Iranians?<\/p>\n
BIDEN: No! There was no apology. Nothing to apologize for. When you have a problem with a boat, do you apologize the boat had a problem? No!<\/p>\n
WOMAN: (nervous laughter)<\/p>\n
BIDEN: And there\u2019s no looking for any apology.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, then what the hell is this, Plugs? Biden\u2019s on CBS says, “No, no, no, no! There\u2019s no apology. There\u2019s nothing to apologize for! We didn\u2019t apologize. If you have a problem with the boat, do you apologize the boat had a problem? We didn\u2019t apologize!” So grab number 33 again. After Plugs said, “No, no, no, no! There was no apology. We didn\u2019t apologize.”<\/p>\n

The GOP establishment is gonna love this. To the GOP establishment, this was the greatest thing we could do. “Yeah. Yeah, we were to blame!” The sailor did one thing wrong. They didn\u2019t actually…” (interruption) No, they did take the blame. Oh, my God, the Republican establishment is gonna love this. The sailors apologized and took the blame for the problem.<\/p>\n
Right.<\/p>\n
