CALLER: Yes. Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I listen to your program just about every day, and I agree with a lot of what you say.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My comments are basically on the career politicians in Washington. They only care for themselves, regardless of whatever party they\u2019re in, and that explains Mr. Trump because he is pro-USA. He doesn\u2019t care about the parties. He is pro-USA. I no longer trust anything that comes out of Washington. I don\u2019t believe it. And, by the way, how did Bernie, who is a socialist, become a millionaire?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I didn\u2019t know that he was.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: All senators are millionaires.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well…<\/p>\n

CALLER: That was in USA Today newspaper.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Bernie Sanders is a millionaire? I didn\u2019t know that. I was under the impression that Bernie was still a pauper compared to other senators. I\u2019ll find that out. I\u2019ll double-check that. But I know, a lot of people have just grown wary of everything coming out of Washington because people there do not seem at all understanding of what life is like for most Americans. So I understand, they\u2019re out for themselves. <\/p>\n

Mike, the manifestation of what you\u2019re saying is, I know what you mean by “out for themselves.” It\u2019s just that their loyalty is to their donors today. They view the financial support more important day to day than they do support from people on ideas, except at election time, \u2019cause at election time that\u2019s when they change focus, vast majority. And that\u2019s one of the reasons for the disconnect. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, I\u2019m so excited I had to put fresh lip gloss on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) Well, it\u2019s great. Great to have you here. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I\u2019m excited to be here. I\u2019m kind of fed up with Donald Trump, to tell you the truth. I thought it was fun when he first got in, but now I\u2019m so over his bloviating. He down-talks the other Republicans, and what if he doesn\u2019t get in? So now there\u2019s gonna be all that ammunition out there that other people can use against the candidate if he\u2019s not the candidate, and then, you know, he gets —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no, no, no. Wait, wait, wait just a second, that last point, that kind of thing happens in every primary campaign, whether Trump —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah —<\/p>\n

RUSH: — whether Trump\u2019s in it or not. The party always unites around the nominee, although that hasn\u2019t happened a lot lately on the Republican side, long before Trump got in.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He scares me \u2019cause he\u2019s got guys like the caller just before me that thinks he walks on water, so if he doesn\u2019t get the nomination —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, wait just a second. Clearly Mike said he likes Trump, but he gave a specific reason. He doesn\u2019t think Trump is in any way tied to Washington, which he distrusts. It\u2019s not that Trump\u2019s infallible. I didn\u2019t hear him say that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. Well, I took it — \u2019cause the other supporters that I know —<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is your real problem with Trump? Let\u2019s cut to the chase here. It\u2019s not the bloviating. What is your real problem with him?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I don\u2019t trust him. I think that he goes after other people for the same deficiencies that he has. So he\u2019s gone after Carson that he thinks he\u2019s pathological, which he didn\u2019t understand —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, I am not trying to defend Trump here, but this is what happens in campaigns. Do you remember what they said about Mitt Romney, the Democrats, in 2012?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I do remember, but the other thing is that he\u2019s going after Carson cause he says he\u2019s really weak in foreign policy. Well, so is he. They kept trying to do a test for him that would show which leaders in the world he didn\u2019t know, which terrorist out there and the names of them and all this stuff, and he said, you wait, you wait \u2019til I\u2019m president, because then I\u2019ll have the best people, and I\u2019ll be able —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, what he said was it\u2019s important they know who I am. Who do you support, who do you support, who do you like, Julianne?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m a Ted Cruz girl.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: All right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I love Ben Carson, but I think Ted has it all.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, it boils down to — I know what she\u2019s saying. Pardon me for putting words in your mouth. Trump\u2019s just not conservative. If she\u2019s all-in for Cruz, that\u2019s really what it is, and the other thing are just characteristics she doesn\u2019t like, which I understand. Fine and dandy.
