RUSH: You know, it\u2019s amazing, 1938 is being repeated right before our very eyes, and what we\u2019re missing right now is a Churchill. <\/p>\n

Instead of the Nazis, we have the militant extremists, the militant Islamists. Can\u2019t call \u2019em that, can\u2019t refer to them in any way that would be offensive or whatever. Just like back in 1938 nobody wanted to hear how bad the Nazis were. And in 1939, 1940, there was one guy, one man trying to warn everybody in Great Britain what they faced, what was dead ahead, and it was Winston Churchill. They mocked him and they made fun of him and they laughed at him and they thought that Neville Chamberlain had the answers, and they invested in Chamberlain.<\/p>\n

Chamberlain goes — you know the story. Comes back from meeting with Hitler and a promise that Hitler\u2019s got no grand designs on Europe. He waves that piece of paper from Hitler promising he\u2019s not doing anything. And the next day invades Poland and it\u2019s all over. Churchill had been vindicated. But because there\u2019d been a Churchill and because he\u2019d been on record explaining who these people were, even though people discounted him, the record was still there. <\/line><\/p>\n

I mean, when I say there\u2019s no Churchill, I mean there\u2019s nobody in elected government now willing to go out on a limb. There\u2019s all kinds of people in the conservative media, Andrew McCarthy I think probably leading the way in trying to get everybody to understand what militant Islam is and who they are and what we\u2019re up against. People don\u2019t want to face it. They just don\u2019t want to admit it. It\u2019s just like in 1938, head in the sand kind of stuff, pretend it\u2019s not there, it will go away. <\/p>\n

Yeah, might have some people here sympathetic to them, but Al Jazeera has just come out now said: We\u2019re not gonna call \u2019em militant Islamists. We\u2019re not gonna call \u2019em extremists. We can\u2019t call \u2019em terrorists. We can\u2019t call \u2019em what they are. We\u2019re not gonna call \u2019em what they are, and the regime is saying we\u2019re not gonna call \u2019em what they are, and we can\u2019t call \u2019em what they are. <\/p>\n

Now, your guess is as good as mine as to why, and there are numerous theories that abound. But it\u2019s still scary as it can be. Because the truth is right in front of our eyes. These guys tell us who they are every day. These militant terrorists, not just tell us who they are, but they show us. They do what they say they\u2019re gonna do. If they\u2019re gonna behead somebody, they do it. They say they\u2019re gonna take a town and destroy all women and children, they do it. We\u2019re running around, “Now, now, now, we must respond with diplomacy and smart power and caution,” and all this happy horse malarkey. It\u2019s right in front of everybody what it is. <\/p>\n

“Well, Rush, it\u2019s never gonna come to America. 911 was a one-off. It\u2019s never gonna happen. We can\u2019t be policemen of the world,” blah, blah. It\u2019s amazing how history repeats itself. It\u2019s just stunning. I mean, 1938, 1939, 1940, is not so far away, not so far gone that there aren\u2019t people alive today who can recall it who were there. There are plenty of people who can recall it who were there. <\/p>\n
