RUSH: Here\u2019s Romney unveiling a new anti-poverty theme that he says he\u2019s considering as he seriously considers a run for prexy.<\/p>\n

ROMNEY: Fifty years ago Lyndon Baines Johnson declared the War on Poverty. His heart was in the right place, but his policies didn\u2019t work. We haven\u2019t won that war. As a matter of fact, under President Obama, the rich have gotten richer, income inequality has gotten worse, and there are more people in poverty in America than ever before. His policies have not worked. The only policies that will reach into the hearts of American people and pull people out of poverty and break the cycle of poverty are Republican principals, conservative principals. They include family formation, education and good jobs, and we\u2019re gonna bring them to the American people and finally end the scourge of poverty in this great land.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, man. And, by the way, the press is already destroying Romney over that. They\u2019re already having a field day with Romney\u2019s talk about anti-poverty programs. See, he doesn\u2019t really mean it, he\u2019s just talking. How could he? He doesn\u2019t know what poverty is, he\u2019s a rich guy. The fact that he earned his money means he has nothing in common with the people he\u2019s talking about, has no idea, \u2019cause he\u2019s earned his and that\u2019s not what we\u2019re talking about. There\u2019s no way to earn that kind of money anymore, \u2019cause America is over. the only way people are gonna have anything is through the redistribution of wealth, and Romney doesn\u2019t understand that. That\u2019s what they\u2019re saying. <\/line><\/p>\n

You like that “family formation” line, Mr. Snerdley? (interruption) Family formation, you\u2019re against family formation? You must be against capital formation, too. You must be flying in formation. You must be against slot right 63 hook and go formation. (interruption) Yeah. Typical negative everything in there. Family formation, who could oppose that? Who the hell knows what it is? Family formation. <\/p>\n
