RUSH: Grab sound bite number six. This did not make news yesterday. But Barack Hussein O, the president of the United States, in another sound bite culled from the Al Sharpton Show, admitted that voter ID laws do not stop black people from voting.<\/p>\n
Now, that just undercuts one of the primary premises of the Democrat Party. “Oh no, we can\u2019t have voter ID laws. Why, that\u2019s racist. That\u2019s stacking the decks against black people. You can\u2019t have voter ID laws. Black people are not gonna get voter IDs \u2019cause they know they\u2019re just gonna be identified so the state can hassle them. You can\u2019t do that. That\u2019s discrimination,” or whatever else they say it is. Obama goes on the radio: No, no, voter ID, not that big a deal. Here\u2019s what he said.<\/p>\n

\nOBAMA: Keep in mind that most of these laws are not preventing the overwhelming majority of folks who don\u2019t vote from voting. Most people do have an ID. Most people do have a driver\u2019s license. Most people can get to the polls. The bottom line is, if less than half of our folks vote, these laws aren\u2019t preventing the other half from not voting.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait just a minute. Do you realize people at the upper levels of the Democrat Party, the Debbie “Blabbermouth” Schultzes of the world hear this and scratch their head and say, “What is he doing to us?” Their whole premise in opposing voter ID laws is that it will prevent minorities from voting. The logic is absurd. There isn\u2019t any logic to it, but that doesn\u2019t matter. That\u2019s what they claim.<\/p>\n
You have to have an ID for anything else. The idea that you have to show one to vote, it is just absurd, and the logic has always been this intimidates African-Americans because of the heritage, because of the history, the way blacks have been treated in this country, demanding that they show an ID, huh-uh, nonstarter. It will harm turnout. And here\u2019s Obama saying, no, it won\u2019t. Not sure I understand what he\u2019s doing here.<\/p>\n

\nLook, the real reason that Democrats don\u2019t want voter ID law is so they can cheat. I mean, it\u2019s no more complicated than that. He\u2019s right. Everybody has an ID anyway. Most people have a driver\u2019s license. Most people have some kind of an ID, cash check, use credit card, what have you. He says this not stopping our people from voting. He\u2019s trying to get voters. He doesn\u2019t want \u2019em relying on excuses. He\u2019s trying to gin up voter turnout here. And he says, don\u2019t fall back on this voter ID business excuse. It\u2019s not a reason to keep you from voting. But it is very limiting if your objective is voter fraud.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Did you note in this last sound bite I played of Barack Hussein O, when he\u2019s talking to Sharpton, says, “Keep in mind, most of these laws are not preventing the overwhelming majority of folks who don\u2019t vote from voting.” In other words, the voter ID laws are not why they aren\u2019t voting. Do you realize what a huge rug he\u2019s just pulled out from under the Democrat Party?<\/p>\n
Now, I know it\u2019s not gonna have any life span. Nobody\u2019s gonna react to it. The Democrats are not gonna change anything. But for people who pay attention, the president has just undermined a very serious Democrat Party platform plank: anti-voter ID. He\u2019s just said it doesn\u2019t matter. And the people that did hear this, who can make TV commercials out of it, it\u2019s gonna matter down the road. The reason the Democrats don\u2019t want voter ID is \u2019cause that makes it really hard to cheat. That\u2019s the sole reason.<\/p>\n

\nStates that don\u2019t have voter ID, they\u2019re in there trying to prevent it from ever happening, and after they prevent it then they\u2019re in there and they\u2019re doing everything they can to gum up the works. They\u2019re doing everything they can to get away with voter fraud, taking advantage of the fact that people who don\u2019t have to show a photo ID. And Obama has just said, that\u2019s not why our people aren\u2019t voting. But that\u2019s my point. “Our people.” He said, “Most people do have an ID. Most people do have a driver\u2019s license. Most people can get to the polls. The bottom line is, if less than half of our folks vote –” He\u2019s talking to Al Sharpton. He\u2019s talking about black people.<\/p>\n
Can you imagine George W. Bush, in talking about the white vote, said “our folks”? Can you imagine, if any Republican did it? Can you imagine what the reaction would be? But here\u2019s Barack Hussein O, and he\u2019s talking about, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, if less than half of our folks vote, those laws aren\u2019t preventing the other half from not voting. No big deal, ho-hummer. In fact, we totally understand it, because they\u2019re so discriminated against, and they have a champion in the White House, except that they don\u2019t. Things have gotten worse for them in the past six years than anybody else, as a group.<\/p>\n
Their unemployment rate is higher. Their economic circumstances are worse. Their net wealth, net worth is lower. The income gap, black America, is higher. I mean, there hasn\u2019t been any noticeable improvement and most things have gotten worse, the way things are measured. It doesn\u2019t matter in the real world. I\u2019m just explaining it to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s Lynn in Omaha as we head back to the phones. Really appreciate your patience.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Hi, Rush. I\u2019m really glad to talk to you. When I heard that clip of Obama talking about why he\u2019s not really worried about voter ID suppressing votes, I had to call and tell you, I can tell you the reason why. There is a campaign across black churches I know in the south, probably across the country, called “early voting in the pews.” And what these pastors are doing is, although they\u2019re telling people in their congregations they, you know that evil “they” don\u2019t want you to vote, they know they can get around this by having people request absentee ballots. And they\u2019re doing that and telling people in the congregations to bring all your ballots to church on a particular Sunday this month, and you\u2019ll vote in the pews and to send those in so you don\u2019t have to worry about ID.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You know, now that you mention that, I vaguely remember having heard of this, but I didn\u2019t recall anywhere near the detail that you have just provided.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, it\u2019s still going on.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, they\u2019re telling the congregations that, you know, “they” don\u2019t want you to vote. There\u2019s that “they.” And they know that they can get around the ID thing by having people request absentee ballots.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That doesn\u2019t make any —<\/p>\n
CALLER: You know it\u2019s that “they.” White people don\u2019t want you to vote, so bring your ballot —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. The pastor is saying, white people don\u2019t want you to vote. “They” is Republicans.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n
RUSH: They don\u2019t want you to vote, so just bring your ballots, your absentees to church next Sunday, we\u2019ll vote —<\/p>\n
CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n
RUSH: — and we\u2019ll turn \u2019em in for you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I think they leave it to people to either mail them in or turn them in, but point is, they get people to request the ballots and bring them to church, and they all vote as one, and of course they\u2019re all voting for Democrats.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Right. And so this is why we\u2019re seeing boxes of mail-in ballots showing up at the polls already.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, possibly. And in particular, I watched one service online where I saw Michelle Nunn addressing the congregation. I lived in Georgia for a good while, and I\u2019m really concerned about that race there, and, you know, it\u2019s neck and neck now, but, you know, she gets all those black votes in all those churches to vote for her, it\u2019s gonna have an impact on that race.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, yeah. Major. I think the polling data that shows the Democrats are really in trouble if they can\u2019t turn out the black vote, those polls are accurate. And there\u2019s panic on the Democrat side, which is why they\u2019re doing this. And when they do it in a church, they know that nobody\u2019s gonna do anything to stop \u2019em.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: They know that nobody\u2019s gonna have the guts. You might, but who are you? I might, but who am I? They know the Republican Party is not gonna make an official move, especially not with Eric Holder up there.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, no. And, you know, I think about that mayor in Houston, and I wonder how many black pastors she wants a sermon from, because plenty of them —<\/p>\n
RUSH: That is an entirely different thing. I think what that mayor in Houston has done may be one of the most vile, filthy violations of the Constitution, blatant violations of the Constitution that I have seen.
