RUSH: So happy to be with you today, folks. I\u2019ve been looking forward to the day for quite a while, really been looking forward to this. I\u2019ve been chomping at the bit here, and I\u2019ve almost blown the reason why on past occasions, but I was able to employ my discipline and keep it secret. <\/p>\n

Greetings, my friends, and welcome, great to have you, Rush Limbaugh, the Excellence in Broadcasting Network and the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. You know, in the past, what is it, month — well, the past six months, I mean, forever we have people calling here and asking me if there\u2019s gonna be a new Rush Revere book,<\/a> or telling me how much they\u2019re looking forward to the next Rush Revere book. Or, in some cases, begging me to create and craft a new Rush Revere book. <\/p>\n

<\/a>I\u2019ve always known that a new Rush Revere book was coming because I was writing it. But I couldn\u2019t say anything. I mean, there has to be a little buildup, and you don\u2019t want to announce something before it\u2019s actually ready to go. And so today I am able to satisfy all those requests of people who have asked, “Is there gonna be another?” We\u2019ve had kids call. We\u2019ve had their parents and grandparents call. <\/p>\n

You know, folks, we live in the greatest country on earth. We have an incredible history, and our mission with these books is to tell that story, to tell the story of America, the story of our founding, and do so in a very relatable way so that young people, the young reader can really get to know the exceptional patriots that paved the way for all of us and made all of this possible. <\/p>\n

Even something as profound as the founding of America gets lost. As time marches on, the founding becomes further and further distant. People\u2019s lives become more chaotic and hectic and everybody lives in the moment, understandably so. The roots of our existence oftentimes, not obscured, but sometimes get taken for granted or forgotten because it happened. It\u2019s already happened and we\u2019re living and it\u2019s now a couple hundred plus years since. <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always been intrigued with the possibility of informing young people as soon as I could get to them, as soon as they were capable, the truth of this country. ‘Cause I love it. It is great. It\u2019s a fantastic story. It doesn\u2019t need any embellishment. It doesn\u2019t need any exaggeration. It\u2019s unique. There has never, ever before in the history of humanity been anything like our country. <\/p>\n

Now, when we first started this series, we talked a lot about how we could get younger people to enjoy history, and, in a way, not even know it was history. But more so, just an incredible adventure, to take American history and turn it into an incredible adventure that young readers would want to be a part of, would want to live, would want to imagine that they were there, and we would take them there. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/map>\n<\/p>\n

We thought the best plan would be to take them right to the action in the seminal moments of the founding of this country so they could experience amazing events like the Boston Tea Party themselves, and have conversations directly with amazing people like Ben Franklin. So the time-travel Adventures of Rush Revere and the talking time-traveling horse, Liberty, were born. <\/p>\n

Now, the third book in the Adventures of Rush Revere series<\/a>, time-travel adventures, exceptional Americans, is being unveiled today. That\u2019s what I\u2019ve been chomping at the bit to tell everybody. Today it\u2019s available for pre-order. You can\u2019t get your hands on it yet, but you can be the first on your block to have it delivered to you if you act fast. The book is called Rush Revere and the American Revolution, and it\u2019s the best yet. And that\u2019s saying something because the first two were exceptional, just like the subject matter, but this is so good, folks. <\/p>\n

Rush Revere and the American Revolution. It is a must-read. It\u2019s heartfelt. It\u2019s patriotic. And it\u2019s absolutely hilarious at times, thanks to our good buddy Liberty, the talking horse, who is the favorite character of many of our young readers. But this book is also a little bit more. Its timing and its message and its dedication is all about the men and women of our great armed forces. Never forgotten here, never taken for granted, always in awe of uniformed military personally on this program, forever. Such profound respect for the sacrifices they offer and, in many cases, make. So this book is in their honor. This book was written for them, about them, and with great respect and love. <\/p>\n

Now, I don\u2019t want to give too much away here. In fact, I could tell you the whole book and you would still want to go get it and read it for yourself. That\u2019s how good it is. But I\u2019m not gonna do that. I\u2019m gonna do the appropriate tease. I want to share with you just a little bit about book three, Rush Revere and the American Revolution<\/a>. If you haven\u2019t read the first books, book one and book two, you really should, because it\u2019ll make three all that much better. But you don\u2019t have to. It\u2019s not a sales pitch. It\u2019s just a little reminder that book three, there is some context to books one and two that you\u2019ll get if you read those two books first. <\/p>\n

Now, the story centers on one of the students at Manchester Middle School named Cam and his relationship with his father. See, Cam\u2019s father — in the book — has been deployed to Afghanistan and Cam doesn\u2019t understand it. Doesn\u2019t understand why his dad would leave, doesn\u2019t understand why his dad would leave the family, doesn\u2019t understand what the big deal is.<\/p>\n

<\/a>He just struggles with it. It\u2019s a long separation. He loves his dad and it\u2019s all kind of confusing to him. So, as the story develops, Rush Revere, Liberty, and the crew — the time-traveling crew from Manchester Middle School, the students — travel to Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill; they witness the events that led to the Declaration of Independence. <\/p>\n

They meet and have conversations with exceptional Americans like Dr. Joseph Warren, Paul Revere — and, yes, George Washington himself. And through the time travels you will see that the student Cam matures before your very eyes and learns a great deal about the why and the how his dad is doing what he\u2019s doing. And it gives him some insight about the amazing sacrifice of our military heroes. See, to Cam, he knows his dad is in the military, but it\u2019s still his dad. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s the thing that\u2019s most important to him, and he\u2019s struggling with thinking that his father, by deploying, is abandoning him. You might think that\u2019s strange. It isn\u2019t. It happens routinely in military families. So we decided to address it here in this book in our attempt to honor the people who do what they do. <\/p>\n

We\u2019re really proud of this, folks, and we\u2019re really proud of the way that we have combined the present day with American history and made it all relatable into a just terrifically exciting adventure that the reader will absolutely love — and, by osmosis, learn some of the key elements of American history that follow the events in the first two books. <\/p>\n

So it\u2019s up for pre-order now, and I\u2019ve been chomping at the bit. You don\u2019t know what it\u2019s like here to have people call asking, “Are you gonna do another book?” and have to fake it. “Well, maybe. Uhhhh,” and knowing full well that I am, knowing full well that it\u2019s coming. But you just can\u2019t say it until it\u2019s actually done and available. The worst thing to do would be to commit to it and something happens and it doesn\u2019t get finished on time.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. Thank you for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You bet.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I just wanted to call and say thanks for, number one, writing a book like you did. I know that not a lot of people out there really know that the families are affected by deployments like they are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know something, Keith, if I could interrupt, I was surprised by that when I first — I don\u2019t want to give too much of the book away here, but I was surprised when I found out how many children of soldiers didn\u2019t quite understand why Dad left. And when I found that out, it was crucial that it be a central theme of the next book, which it is. And it\u2019s a tribute to the military. I mean, I appreciate your nice words. You haven\u2019t even read it yet. I hope it meets your expectations. But that\u2019s something that may surprise a lot of people.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. And I\u2019m just here to say that my son, he was 5 for my last deployment, and to this day I really don\u2019t think he really understands what was going on. And I feel like if you would have had these three books or this last one it would have been a little more comforting for him and my wife.<\/p>\n

RUSH: At age 5 he didn\u2019t understand why Daddy was leaving?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. I mean, he knew where I was. He knew the word Afghanistan and where it was, and it was night while it was day here, where I was, but other than that, I was gone for about a year and that was all, you know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Does he understand now? Or is he still too young?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, he\u2019s only 6 now, so it was just last year. So I mean he still kinda doesn\u2019t understand, but I\u2019m gonna end up getting this book and hopefully it might be — I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll love it. And then also I kind of wanted to make another point, too. This should be marketed on military bases. It should be spread around because military families, the wives and the kids, they\u2019re the ones that really, really suffer. They\u2019re the ones that do the time at home, and I think that it\u2019s very important to have resources like this book for them to help them through the deployments.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, we have taken as many steps as we can. It\u2019s impossible to get the book to a PX, not impossible, but it\u2019s a challenge. It\u2019s not because it\u2019s ours. It\u2019s a fairness thing. But we have reached out with promotional materials to a number of military organizations to accomplish exactly what you suggested. The bottom line is your instincts are right on the money, Keith, and we\u2019re on it. And I can\u2019t thank you enough for your comments, even before you\u2019ve read the book. I appreciate it.<\/p>\n
