RUSH: Geno in the Bronx. Glad you waited, sir. Great to have you on the program. Hi.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I finally made it to radio talk show heaven. I\u2019m on the Rush Limbaugh Show. As I was telling Mr. Snerdley when he took my call, I used to be a probation officer 20 years ago, and guess what case came up 20 years ago of a famous NFL Hall of Fame football player who committed the ultimate domestic violence case of all time: None other than of course OJ Simpson!<\/p>\n
And, of course, Nicole Brown Simpson and the Goldman kid got murdered, slaughtered, Rambo\u2019d, knifed by OJ. OJ, of course, beat the rap. But he didn\u2019t beat the rap in the civil case a year later. It was when he was working for NBC Sports, the left-wing media sports outlet that defended this monster up until the day that they found him liable for the wrongful death of Nicole (his ex-wife) and the Goldman kid.<\/p>\n
And then, of course, there were the apologists back then 20 years ago, but you\u2019re not hearing from them today 20 years later. I wonder why. Is it because domestic violence now has gotten to the point where it\u2019s a worse charge than murder, rape, armed robbery, drug dealing, or any of the other crimes that the mutants on my caseload were convicted of, including domestic violence? If this case had gone straight to a criminal court, chances are Ray Rice would still be with the Baltimore Ravens. The case would have probably gotten adjudicated with nothing more than a conditional discharge.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, now, wait a minute. The prosecutor didn\u2019t even care to bring charges on this.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And you wonder why he didn\u2019t, right?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, a lot of people are wondering why he didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah. Well, let\u2019s put it this way. The mutants on my caseload here in the Bronx and later on in Brooklyn, if they were found to be first-time offenders the way Ray Rice was, they would have disposed of the case. Nothing more would have happened. He would have done some time at Rikers Island. Maybe if he had a prior criminal record, he\u2019d go to Attica or Elmira State Prison, but otherwise this guy would still be in the NFL. He\u2019d still be playing, and the apologists for OJ Simpson who have been mum and quiet, including the feminists who also didn\u2019t bring up hell about it.<\/p>\n
Now, 20 years later, they want this guy to lose his job and lose his life.<\/p>\n
RUSH: What\u2019s the difference? What\u2019s happened? What\u2019s your theory?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, take a wild guess what happened. Domestic violence and other so-called liberal causes have gotten to the point where if you are called a racist, whether you are or not, that\u2019s worse than being a murderer or homicidal maniac the way OJ Simpson was. But, of course, if you don\u2019t get convicted, if you get acquitted by 12 numskulls on a jury, the other six numskulls on the libel case held him liable.<\/p>\n
So any way you look at this, it all comes down to one thing. If you are a conservative, if you are anybody that has any type of justifiable case that you could get acquitted of, you are give him the benefit of the doubt. But this guy has already been convicted in a court of public opinion, not a court of public law, and if it would have been any one of the mutants on my caseload, chances are it would have been adjudicated.<\/p>\n
He would maybe do probation and he\u2019d be unfortunate enough to have me as his probation officer, because I\u2019d make sure I\u2019d bust his ass any time he got arrested. So Ray Rice could have still been playing. He could be playing on Thursday night. It wouldn\u2019t have mattered what the NFL did.<\/p>\n
But because they have this politically correct, Bolshevik-infested thought police that want to crucify this guy, he\u2019s not gonna be playing nut NFL any time soon. At best he\u2019ll be playing in the Arena Football League or maybe the Canadian Football League. But in two years from now if he gets reinstated, assuming he\u2019s a good boy and he doesn\u2019t do anything wrong and his wife he doesn\u2019t go back on Twitter proclaiming how their family\u2019s now been destroyed.<\/p>\n
RUSH: (stifling laughter)<\/p>\n
CALLER: Because, of course, she\u2019s not gonna get a hold of his millions. Unless, of course, she hires Raul Felder or Gloria All-Communist-Red to do the divorce proceedings and take what he\u2019s got, what he still has. Maybe at that point he might play again. But chances are he\u2019s gonna be mopping up floors at the local McDonald\u2019s where he lives, and he\u2019s lucky if he\u2019ll even get that job, because they\u2019re gonna crucify this guy.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, that\u2019s happening. So you\u2019re distinguishing between a court of public opinion and a court of law.<\/p>\n
CALLER: That\u2019s correct.<\/p>\n
RUSH: But are you of the opinion that the public is not as outraged by this as the media is and it\u2019s the media that\u2019s just gone crazy with political correctness, or are you afraid that our whole culture is now buying into it?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, all of the above. I mean, the media for sure has gone hog wild 180 degrees in the opposite direction. Now they\u2019re willing to take this guy on, but, meanwhile, the other more infamous players in the NFL like Plaxico Burress —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Let\u2019s wait a minute, now. Geno, we gotta draw a couple distinctions. Ray Rice was never hired by Hertz to run through airports. He was never in Police Academy movies as a lovable character. He never won the Heisman Trophy. He was not NBC sideline sports commentator. Ray Rice was just a football player. OJ Simpson had built up a reservoir of love and respect and adoration — and, you\u2019re right. There were all kinds of people defending him up until the very last.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And then, of course, 15 years later, he proves his true colors by being convicted of four counts of armed robbery, supposedly to take back his memorabilia that he claims was stolen from him. Meanwhile, it was taken away from him because that was part of the deal that he had to pay back the Goldman and the Brown families.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n
CALLER: So, of course, you know, OJ was given every possible break under the sun, and until that final conviction and a Nevada state jury that were smart enough to throw his sorry ass in jail, then everything was okay. But this guy is getting crucified without even having a prior criminal record. He is a so-called first-time offender. Where are the liberals out there that always say, “Well, if he\u2019s a first-time offender, he should get a second chance”?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, I think what happens here is that feminism trumps racism.<\/p>\n
CALLER: There you go. You got it right. You know, that\u2019s why you got a talk show for the last 26 years and I don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well — (laughing)<\/p>\n
CALLER: And I should, too.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well — (laughing)<\/p>\n
CALLER: After all, you\u2019re the greatest radio talk show host of all time, and I\u2019m the greatest radio talk show caller of all time.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, I was just gonna say, you rank up there at the all-time high —<\/p>\n
CALLER: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: — talk show callers.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And you\u2019ve now earned yourself a free chicken parmesan dinner from me, and that goes for Mr. Snerdley, too, \u2019cause he put me on the air.<\/p>\n
