I think I\u2019m genetically disposed to opposing all this stuff, so &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: &#8212; I\u2019m not going anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes, sir. Good. Great. I have a fun Open Line Friday story for you.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Okay, cool.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yeah. I get to do some interviews at &#8212; we have a Motor City Comic-Con in the Detroit area, and I got to interview William Shatner.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Oh. Yeah. Cool.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: It was cool. And, you know, everyone was Star Trekking him to death, so I thought I\u2019d ask him about his talk show, Raw Nerve, and I asked him who his favorite all-time guest was, and then I had a follow-up question of what was the best answer he got to a question from a guest. And he said his favorite guest of all time was you.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Really?<\/p>\n<div id=\"zype_6046979532e6c100014967e2\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/player.zype.com\/embed\/6046979532e6c100014967e2.js?api_key=6yUf3WZePk78GtpC3BXdZSqZ5ma_gYmV_rEJ8OYJZ0wq3AlDKM2RFnOcBN0xiMco&amp;controls=true\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><br \/>\nCALLER: Yes. He loved your confidence. He loved the fact that you brought your home broadcast toy that you had from when you were a kid.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_94575\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/RushSHatnerBack1.jpg\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\nRUSH: Oh, yeah, the Remco Caravelle, right.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes, sir. He really loved that. He loved your confidence. His favorite part of your interview and it happened to be the favorite part &#8212; because I think he interviewed you in the morning and then the same day he interviewed Larry Flynt, and he said the favorite thing that happened was in both interviews, and he got you both to cry a little bit by talking about your families.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: He did. I remember he was really &#8212; he had done his research on my family. He was really interested in my grandfather and how much influence on me my grandfather had had. He really bore down on that. I don\u2019t remember crying \u2019cause I don\u2019t cry, but maybe I got misty-eyed. If he said that that happened, I\u2019m not gonna dispute him.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: He said you did get misty-eyed, yep, exactly.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I think it\u2019s great that he thinks I was his favorite guest.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Oh, yeah, he went on and on about it. He really loved it. He loved doing that show about &#8212; my favorite part of the show was that love seat deal that he had that he made everyone sit in.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, it was an S-shaped desk, so that the guest is facing him, but you both have a tabletop in front of you because you\u2019re sitting in the middle section of the S. I\u2019d never seen anything like it. The interview was shot in some home somewhere in the Hollywood Hills that was for sale. They had commandeered some home that was for sale, set this thing up in the living room because of the view outside the picture window of this house. I got invited to his house for a couple Monday Night Football games after that.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_94572\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/RushSHatnerBack2.jpg\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\nCALLER: Very cool.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: In fact, that\u2019s where I met Jon Voight one night at a Monday Night Football game at Shatner\u2019s place. Shatner\u2019s place is so far up the hill, and they don\u2019t let you drive up there. The car lets you off or you park the car for people who drive, and you walk up this driveway. It\u2019s heart attack hill, getting up there. There\u2019s no way anybody\u2019s gonna ever break into his house \u2019cause they\u2019re gonna have a heart attack getting up to it.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s a vegetarian, by the way, but he\u2019s not militant. He had this big buffet set up for everybody, but it was not just what he eats. And there were a lot of people there. He\u2019s got this giant like 20-foot screen in his media room. It was really cool. I think William Shatner is one of the most naturally &#8212; and you wouldn\u2019t know this from watching Star Trek &#8212; but he\u2019s one of the most naturally funny people I\u2019ve ever been around.<\/p>\n<p>The Shatner that was on Boston Legal, that\u2019s who I found him to be, in the off times. He is a fun guy. He was a lot of fun. And that interview, it was a two-hour interview that they had to pare down to like, I don\u2019t know, 45 minutes or some such thing. I thought they would make two episodes out of it.
