RUSH: Everybody\u2019s talking about Donald Sterling being early onset dementia<\/a>, out of it. Casey Kasem. Somebody needs to seriously examine Harry Reid. <\/a><\/p>\n

This man has got Kochbrotheritis<\/a>. I don\u2019t know what else you would call it. Dingy Harry has now suggested a constitutional amendment to limit the Koch brothers\u2019 influence. I mean, he\u2019s over the edge now on this. I mean, they\u2019re trying to use the Koch brothers as the personification of the 1%, the personification. He just said the other day, last week, that they, the Koch brothers are responsible for global warming. Quick, somebody tell the consensus of scientists, because they\u2019re not blaming it on the Koch brothers. They\u2019re blaming it on America at large. <\/p>\n

<\/a>But this obsession that Harry Reid has, it\u2019s bordering on the obsession that CNN had with the missing Malaysian airline flight.<\/a> He\u2019s just stuck in this groove and he won\u2019t leave it. This is a common thing that happens to older people when dementia starts to set in. Dingy Harry said yesterday “that he would bring a constitutional amendment to the floor granting Congress the ability to set strict new limits on campaign contributions, warning he will force multiple votes if necessary to pass the measure.<\/p>\n

“Reid also rejected concerns from many Democrats that his focus on the Kochs has done nothing to help the party. ‘The Koch Brothers, I\u00c2\u2019m not walking away from them. I\u00c2\u2019m going to be on their tail for the whole campaign because if they think Romney was watched closely by me, that\u00c2\u2019s nothing compared to what it\u00c2\u2019s going to be like with the Koch Brothers. They\u00c2\u2019re spending money in state party races. They\u00c2\u2019re going after secretaries of state. They want to do everything they can to suppress voting. They want to do everything they can to go back to that 1980 campaign,\u2019 Reid said.” And of course that\u2019s all a lie. <\/p>\n

Now, I happen to know the Koch brothers. Folks, this is not normal. I mean, even for somebody playing a political card here. Even for somebody that thinks they\u2019re on to a hot political issue, but he\u2019s not. This is not working. Other political Democrats are right. Nobody knows who the Koch brothers are and very few people care. The Koch brothers have not done anything to anybody. There\u2019s no evidence whatsoever, I mean none, to back up what Harry Reid is saying about them. <\/p>\n

The other day he was asked about Sheldon Adelson. Sheldon Adelson is a very, very, very wealthy casino mogul, Las Vegas Sands. He\u2019s got casinos in Las Vegas and Macau, not far from Hong Kong and Kowloon, but he lives in Nevada. He\u2019s the guy that gave Newt 10 million in a last ditch effort for Newt to show well in the Republican primaries in 2012. I think it was 10 million. It could have been 10 billion, 10, 20, I don\u2019t know, anyway, it was a lot of money. And Dingy Harry was asked about him. Oh, no, no, Sheldon, he\u2019s okay, no problem with Sheldon. I immediately said, okay, what has Sheldon done for Dingy Harry? Because there\u2019s no difference. I mean, Sheldon Adelson would be a bigger target for Dingy Harry than the Koch brothers, just normal everyday give and take in politics. <\/line><\/p>\n

But I\u2019ll tell you, if Harry Reid was a relative of yours, you would be having private family discussions about what to do. And I don\u2019t know that the Democrats are not doing that. This is not helping them. It isn\u2019t productive. It\u2019s obsessive. It\u2019s manic. It\u2019s obsessive-compulsive. It\u2019s codependent. It\u2019s all of those New Age highfalutin terms. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Good afternoon, Rush. It\u2019s a pleasure to speak with you. It\u2019s an honor, actually.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I am a first-time caller but I am a long-time listener, and forgive me for being very nervous.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you don\u2019t sound it so just don\u2019t even think about it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (chuckles) Actually, this call is more of an impulse call. I heard you talking about Harry Reid and the Alzheimer\u2019s defense or the —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Now, I did not say Alzheimer\u2019s. “Early onset dementia.”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s a difference.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. My apologizes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right. (chuckles)<\/p>\n

CALLER: However, regardless of however you term it, I think it\u2019s a classic Democratic defense, which is to deflect. In this case, deflect from the IRS, Benghazi. And Harry Reid, I believe he\u2019s reaching the end-of-his term.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know, you have a good point. (I have a cigar in my mouth.) You got a good point because you\u2019re saying, “Don\u2019t let this guy off the hook. He\u2019s a reprobate. He\u2019s complicit in all this stuff. Don\u2019t let him chalk it up to he doesn\u2019t know what he\u2019s doing,” because you believe he does. It\u2019s calculated, it\u2019s purposeful, and he is intending to hurt people.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I believe he\u2019s prepared to fall on his sword for the liberal cause. When the results of the 2014 elections happen, and he\u2019s on the losing end of that, then his defenders are gonna come along and say, “He\u2019s a sick man! You can\u2019t punish him. Be nice to him because you\u2019re gonna offend all the people who true do have mental problems or mental disorders.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Yeah, you may have a point. You may have a point. I\u2019ll tell you, let me ask you a question. There\u2019s no wrong answer here. This is not a trick.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: ‘Cause I\u2019m asking it of myself, too. You look at these old Democrats like Harry Reid. I never really… Until he became majority leader… He replaced Tom Daschle, and I thought the reason they put him in there is because he\u2019s soft-spoken like Daschle was. I mean, Tom Daschle, all he ever said was, “We\u2019re really concerned, Tim. We\u2019re terribly concerned,” over whatever the Republicans were doing.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re just terribly concerned,” and Dingy Harry is soft-spoken, too. Therefore he does not convey the genuine viciousness and mean-spiritedness of these people. He hides behind his barely audible voice. But that\u2019s not the question. The question is: Are you like me? I have been surprised at the number of what I just thought were standard, ordinary run-of-the-mill Democrats — in truth — are not standard, ordinary, Democrats. <\/p>\n

These are far-left, extremist, full-fledged statists and fascists. I\u2019ve been admittedly surprised. All it took was Obama being elected, and these people were unleashed. It\u2019s like they\u2019ve been holding back all these years. I\u2019ve known who they are. I\u2019ve known what a liberal is. Don\u2019t misunderstand. But these people, they\u2019re not hiding anymore. <\/p>\n

They\u2019re not hiding behind camouflage, other than at election time now and then. They are just full-throated. They don\u2019t like much about this country, and they\u2019re out to totally redo it, remake it, refashion it, and get rid of the Constitution. And I\u2019m just stunned. I thought these old guys were just Robert Strauss kind of Democrats.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: I believe these people, Harry Reid included, were, if you want to relate it to like individual cells throughout the country, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Eric Holder, they\u2019re all just sitting back, waiting their time, and then when Obama gets elected, they\u2019ve all mobilized like they\u2019ve had this going on all along.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. That\u2019s the thing. They have always been radicals, genuine radicals, and it was Obama\u2019s election that caused them to surface and put it on open display. And you\u2019ve got a good point about not letting Dingy off the hook. And I was only joking anyway. The reason I was joking is because he is over the edge on this Koch brothers stuff. I mean, even when you go look at a list of donors, the Koch brothers are 59 behind unions and there all kinds of people that give far more money than the Koch brothers do. And yet they are responsible for global warming. They single-handedly are doing whatever Dingy Harry thinks is wrong. <\/p>\n

So they clearly stand for something. He\u2019s trying to create them as the icons for a whole lot of people, but he\u2019s just gone so overboard with it. Maybe not. Maybe the left — you have to allow for this — maybe they are so far gone that all it takes is some loony bin like Harry Reid blaming them for global warming, and half the Twitterverse believes it. It\u2019s a scary thing to admit that about so many people in the country being so dumb. You really don\u2019t want to think of it that way, but then you saw the poll yesterday, only 4% think they\u2019re below average. A-ha. What did that tell us? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Here you go, from the Center for Responsive Politics: “Heavy Hitters: Top All-Time Donors, 1989-2014.” The top 10 political donors, 1989 to 2014, are unions. I don\u2019t know about the first one. Might not be a union. It\u2019s ActBlue, Democrat PAC, $97 million. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, $60 million. NEA, $53 million. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, $44 million. United Auto Workers, $41 million. Carpenters and Joiners, $39 union. Service Employees International, $38 million. Look at that. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot of union dues in there. That\u2019s an incalculable amount of money. So the top 10, number 10 is the SEIU. The Koch brothers are at number 59, with $18 million. And the number 10 donor is at $38 million. Number one is at $97 million, from 1989 to the present. And just about every one of the 58 donors above the Kochs gave to the Democrats. And the Kochs used to give to Democrats, by the way, at some point in this reporting period. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
