CALLER: Thank you. What a great privilege to talk with you, Rush, and I just want you to know I wish you continued progress with the cochlear implant development<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you. Thanks very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Listen, I want to remind everybody of Obama\u2019s African trip last summer where he, at a press conference in Senegal, started preaching about gay marriage, and the Senegalese president reminded Obama that it had only been in the last year or two that he himself had changed his mind on that.<\/p>\n

And I think I remember hearing on your program what I thought was just the most marvelous sound bite I\u2019d ever heard which is a rebuttal from the vice president of Kenya where he said, “This country, the nation of Kenya, is a God-fearing nation.” I remember driving and hearing that on your program and thinking, “My goodness, that\u2019s something you don\u2019t always hear when people talk to Obama.”<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Yeah, and Kenya to boot.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, you\u2019re right. I\u2019m gonna see if we can find that. You\u2019ve got a great memory. See if we can find that. That was during the same time as the Senegalese trip?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It was. I think he was in Senegal and then Kenya.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He was basically saying, “Keep your business to yourself. You just recently changed your mind. Leave us alone. Don\u2019t tell us how to act when you only recently arrived at whatever point of view you\u2019ve got today.”<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCIRPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: It was July 1st of last year on this program<\/a> that our caller was discussing. “Obama Gives Kenya $7 Billion for Electricity, Gets Told Off on Gay Marriage by Kenyan Deputy President.” We\u2019re going back to the archives even now to find the audio sound bite that our caller brilliantly remembered. By the way, the president has been attempting to exert pressure on Boko Haram behind the scenes, and we overheard it. <\/p>\n

(playing of spoof) <\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow! Holy cow, the president is pulling out all the stops. He\u2019s threatening to ruin \u2019em! Not just on Twitter. Tumblr, LinkedIn, Instagram, Foursquare, Reddit, Pinterest, Facebook. I have the transcript of the program last July, July 1st, 2013. “Obama, as you know, is in Africa on a new $60 million to $100 million vacation. Well, he\u2019s actually has some official business as well. Now, while he was in Kenya, he did two things. <\/p>\n

“The first thing he did in Kenya… Well, I don\u2019t know if chronologically. But one of the two things he did in Kenya was to give them a speech about how they need to ‘modernize\u2019 and accept gay marriage. Now, obviously that speech was intended for US domestic consumption. The idea was to keep gay campaign money pouring in,” which is what J. Christian Adams\u2019 point is — you know, the pandering to the donors. <\/p>\n

“So he goes to Kenya, makes a speech there designed to be heard in America,” and his left-wing supporters here are supposed to say, “‘Wow! Look, man! Our president, he\u2019s really great. He\u2019s going around the world now selling gay marriage. This is really our guy. Okay, we gotta keep funding this guy.\u2019 But he nevertheless he did it in Kenya. He tried to sell \u2019em on getting with it and legalizing gay marriage. <\/p>\n

“The deputy president of Kenya is named William Ruto, and William Ruto yesterday urged Obama to essentially be quiet,” and that is the sound bite that the caller remembers. This was a huge slapdown, by the way. If President Bush or even Mitt Romney had gotten that kind of slapdown from a foreign leader, it would be the biggest story of the week, of the month, of the year.<\/p>\n

But the second in power, second in command in Kenya slapdown of Obama was ignored by the Drive-By Media, which is why we had made such a big deal of it. He went over there and he told those people to “modernize,” get with it, and legalize gay marriage. The Kenyans basically said, “We believe in God, we believe in the Bible, not you.” Yeah, “We\u2019re a God-fearing nation,” is what the second in command and Kenya said to Obama.<\/p>\n

It was a huge, huge slapdown. <\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT <\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: We found it. We found it, July 1st, 2013<\/a> in Kenya at St. Gabriel\u2019s Catholic Church, Deputy President William Ruto.<\/p>\n

RUTO: Those who believe in other things, that is their business. We believe in God. This country, the nation of Kenya, is a God-fearing nation. We believe in God. <\/p>\n

CROWD: (applause)<\/p>\n

RUSH: William Ruto, responding to Obama\u2019s demand that they get with it on gay marriage, July 1st, last year, William Ruto in Kenya. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Through the feverishly fast talents of Cookie up there, digging everywhere necessary and possible to find audio sound bites requested by me on the fly, we have it. We had just enough time to squeeze it into the closing moments of the previous hour, but I didn\u2019t have enough time to put it in context for people that might have just tuned in. <\/p>\n

We had a caller in the last hour who reminded us… This all has to do with Boko Haram, in a sense. It all springs from that. In January of this year, Nigeria established anti-gay marriage policies. Three months later, Uganda did it, and in both cases, the secretary of state, John Kerry (who, by the way, served in Vietnam), rejected it.<\/p>\n

He told the leaders of both Uganda and Nigeria (in Nigeria, it\u2019s Goodluck Jonathan, the president) to basically get their minds right. Kerry said we\u2019re gonna send experts over there to teach these leaders, instruct them, show them how had they\u2019re wrong, how their bigoted. They\u2019re racists, sexists, homophobes and all this stuff. The point being now, a few short months later, all of a sudden we\u2019ve got the kidnapped girls, and gets who\u2019s to blame? <\/p>\n

The Nigerian government! <\/p>\n

“It\u2019s not Boko Haram. No, no. They\u2019re an oppressed minority. They\u2019re jihadists. They\u2019re linked to Al-Qaeda. They\u2019re militant Islamists. They kidnapped the girls but it\u2019s only because the Nigerian government\u2019s oppressive and made them do it!” That\u2019s the official position of the United States government, diplomatically. You may not see that in the media, although if you read the Washington Post, you will see that point of view expressed. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s not Hillary\u2019s fault. It\u2019s not Kerry\u2019s fault. No, no. It\u2019s this backward government. So we got a call from a guy who said, “You know, last year I was listening to your program and Obama was in Kenya and he got slapped down by the leaders of Kenya \u2019cause he tried the same thing with them.” He was over there ostensibly to give Kenya some money to help them shore up their electricity.<\/p>\n

You know, Nigeria is an oil-producing nation, so that\u2019s why they don\u2019t have to listen to Obama \u2019cause they\u2019ve got their own source of money: Oil. Kenya needed some money from us for their generation of electricity. So Obama went over there with an aid check, and while there he read \u2019em the Riot Act for anti-gay bigotry, and they slapped him down, and the caller called and remembered this.<\/p>\n

We went back to transcript, and it was July 1, 2013 that we talked about it on the program. We didn\u2019t have any audio. But we do now. This is William Ruto. This is July 1st in Maili Kumi, Kenya, at St. Gabriel\u2019s Catholic Church. Deputy President William Ruto spoke about Obama demanding that they get their minds right over there and embrace gay marriage, and William Ruto rejected Obama. This was a huge slapdown. This is the first time we heard audio of this.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUTO: Those who believe in other things, that is their business. We believe in God. This country, the nation of Kenya, is a God-fearing nation. We believe in God.<\/p>\n

CROWD: (applause)<\/p>\n

RUSH: (Ruto impression) “We believe in God, not Obama,” is essentially the message. Now, if this had been George W. Bush or Mitt Romney, can you imagine the stories about the slapdown the US president got while on foreign soil? But that didn\u2019t happen here. So three African nations in the last nine months have taken official positions opposing gay marriage.<\/p>\n

Every one of them has encountered problems with the United States afterwards. The latest incarnation is the Boko Haram kidnapping of the 300 girls, which has led to the all-powerful hashtag, and that has led, once again, to the government of Nigeria (which is a Christian government, by the way) being blamed for the kidnapping. So that closes the loop and brings us up to speed there. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I\u2019ve been thinking about something, folks, this gay marriage business and these three African countries. You\u2019ve got Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan and Boko Haram. You\u2019ve got Uganda, and you have Kenya. In two of those three, and maybe Nigeria, I think what\u2019s happening in Nigeria is because of Nigeria\u2019s position on gay marriage, they oppose it, in all three cases this Regime has reached out and slapped down the presidents and leadership of these three countries. And the State Department, when it comes to Nigeria, the State Department was telling the Nigerian government to learn to deal with Boko Haram, to be more open to negotiations with the Muslim population in the north. <\/p>\n

Remember, Nigeria\u2019s a Christian country. The State Department department — you don\u2019t know about this \u2019cause this has not been widely covered until this all happened with the kidnapping. Nobody knew about Boko Haram, what was going on, unless you\u2019re a devotee of State Department news. Now, Muslim populations support Sharia law, under which — can you say sultan of Brunei? — the penalty for homosexuality is death by stoning or other means. <\/p>\n

So this is where I\u2019m a little confused. The Christian Nigerian government puts in an anti-gay law, which is exactly what Boko Haram would want as a militant Islamic group that believes in Sharia. So the State Department told \u2019em: reach out to Boko Haram. Reach out to the Muslim population. So they come out with an anti-gay marriage law. They must think they\u2019re doing exactly what Obama and Kerry told \u2019em to do, Islamic outreach, and yet Obama slaps \u2019em down anyway. Goodluck Jonathan must be sitting there thinking there\u2019s no way to win with these guys. I do what they say. I reach out, anti-gay, what the Muslims want, and I got slapped down for it?
