How can this be? <\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_90735\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/AsianCarpPIX.jpg\"\/><BR\/>I thought everything animals did in nature was natural, and everything animals did was pure? I thought the&#8230; Oh.  Oh.  Oh.  Sorry.  I forgot.  We screwed it up by introducing this fish.  That\u2019s right.  We messed up nature. &#8220;US Army Corps of Engineers have been fighting off the most invasive species, the black carp from China, the Silver carp from Vietnam, and Grass carp from China,&#8221; it\u2019s a ChiCom fish, &#8220;from spreading into the Great Lakes where the fish could do massive damage to the region\u2019s fishing industry.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While arguing his case on the Senate floor, Hoffman said that referring to the fish as &#8216;Asian\u2019 was hurtful to some people&#8230; &#8221; So they\u2019re gonna change the name of the Asian carp to the &#8220;invasive carp&#8221; because it offended some people.  I don\u2019t even know. What is &#8220;invasive carp&#8221;? Isn\u2019t that gonna be an insult to illegal aliens, once they hear about it?  We\u2019ve gone from Asian carp to invasive carp.<\/p>\n<p>Who was offended?  I\u2019ll betcha nobody was.  Nobody even knew.  This guy is just trying to be politically correct and score some points.  Somebody needs to stand up when this kind of stuff happens and say, &#8220;Stop! No! Go to hell! We\u2019re not gonna mess with this.&#8221;  But nobody does.  This political correctness just continues to spread.  It\u2019s like a disease.  It\u2019s like an incurable disease.  It just spreading and it\u2019s irrational. <\/p>\n<p>The Asian carp, the name was offensive to some people?  <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Jim in Eagan, Minnesota.  You\u2019re up first today.  Great to have you.  Hello, sir.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Rush, thank you very much.  It\u2019s a great honor to be on your program.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Thank you very much.  I appreciate that.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  When you started off the program you mentioned the Asian carp and how the people here in Minnesota, our very liberal legislators, have changed the name to make it somehow less offensive.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  I thought you might be interested in the background of that.  You did correctly say that they were imported in the 1970s.  It was actually under Jimmy Carter.  I was a federal law enforcement officer back then, charged with running one of the ports and keeping out those kind of animals &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well, why?  Why did they bring in the Asian carp?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rPeg1tbBt0A\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  They should have never brought \u2019em in according to the law, but the catfish farmers wanted them brought in to clean out the catfish ponds so they wouldn\u2019t have to flush them as often. <\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  The carp are like slums, right? I mean they\u2019re the worst dregs.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yeah.  They eat the scum and they eat the algae and that, and keep the water clean enough that you can keep rotating more catfish.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  But where those catfish ponds are, are all in low places along streams and creeks and rivers, and they flood.  The first time they flooded, boom, they were in the Mississippi River, up the Arkansas River. They\u2019ve killed the Illinois River.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Hold it, hold it, wait a minute, wait a minute.  So what?  What happens?  See, I don\u2019t know this stuff.  You gotta tell me.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Sure.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  What\u2019s the big deal about the Asian carp getting in the Mississippi River?  It\u2019s a goldfish.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  They go in there and they crowd out all the other fish.  They eat their eggs.  They make the water muddy.  Right now 95% of all the fish in the &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Oh, they\u2019re like &#8212; (crosstalk)<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  &#8212; are these carp.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  &#8212; Wile E. Coyote that succeeds?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yeah.  And they jump out of the water, they get up to 30, 40 pounds.  They jump out of the water four or five feet in the air when they go along with the boat and they can kill you if they hit you.  Now they\u2019re up the Mississippi River, and they\u2019re gonna spend all kinds of &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Wait a minute.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  &#8212; billions of dollars in Minnesota to keep them out of the Minnesota streams.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Wait a minute, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.  These are flying fish?  If they jump out of the water, they can kill you when they hit you?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  You bet.  Think about a 30-pound fish going four or five feet up in the air. They jump up that high \u2019cause they get scared.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  A thirty pound fish!<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yeah.  And if you hit \u2019em going 20 miles an hour with your outboard motor because it happened to jump up in front of you, bingo, you\u2019re history.  That was an example of something the federal government said that they would take care of and for 80 years they had a law to do that.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Okay.  All right, now, let\u2019s cut to the chase here.  Are there actually Asian people in Minnesota who are offended that this thing is called the Asian carp?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  No. That\u2019s all the imaginings of these very liberal Minnesotans up here.  They go nuts over anything. All you gotta do is mention that at some wine and cheese party here and everybody\u2019s hearts fluttering until the government passes a law to take care of it.  That\u2019s the way it is here.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Okay, so no Asians have protested and demanded &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  No.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  &#8212; they change the name of the fish &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  No.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/?p=9479\"><img id=\"eZObject_90750\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ReidRedskins.jpg\"\/><\/a>RUSH:  &#8212; like they\u2019re protesting over the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/?p=9479\">Redskins in Washington.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  No, we\u2019re all supposed to be thankful \u2019cause they\u2019re trying to keep \u2019em outta here, that our government\u2019s doing something, I guess.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well, good luck.  It\u2019s gonna make the fish even madder.  I mean, they are what they are.  They\u2019re Asian carp.  Now you\u2019re gonna tell \u2019em they\u2019re not what they are, and they\u2019re gonna go nuts.  They\u2019re gonna get even meaner.  You can see, by the way, I\u2019m told that you can see on YouTube, there is YouTube video of these Asian carp jumping out of the water and hitting people.  Some of them get up to a hundred pounds.  And they really are the dregs of fish society.  They really are.  I mean, I\u2019m not gonna compare \u2019em to any particular group, nothing to gain there, but I\u2019m telling you, they are.  (interruption)  What?  How am I making it worse?  (interruption) <\/p>\n<p>No, no, no.  No.  Carp.  Carp.  Any kind of carp.  There\u2019s the Silver carp. There\u2019s the Asian carp. There\u2019s a whole bunch of other kind of carp.  No.  That\u2019s not me. (interruption)  I\u2019ve already given \u2019em two pieces of dynamite today and we\u2019re not even finished with the first hour.  I was gonna say apparently there was YouTube video of these carp &#8212; Asian, Silver, French, Hispanic &#8212; jumping out of the water and aiming and hitting people.  But now they\u2019re gonna change the name. Honest.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5_D-qHOB2tY\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Folks, we\u2019re not making this up.  They changed the name in Minnesota, proposed to, from Asian carp to invasive carp because Hoffman, the Democrat, claims that some people\u2019s feelings are hurt, feel very bad about this.  You change the name from Asian carp to invasive carp, and you might hear from La Raza.  They might not like that.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Yeah, just saw some video of the Asian carp.  It was kind of funny to look at.  I mean, you got these guys in a speedboat, and they\u2019re speeding along and they\u2019ve got rifles or shotguns, and they\u2019re actually shooting at the carp as the carp launch themselves at the fishermen and hit \u2019em.  They\u2019re shooting \u2019em with guns.  It\u2019s kind of funny.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Glenn in Grayslake, Illinois.  I\u2019ve got about 45 seconds.  I\u2019m sorry, but I wanted to get to you.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  I just wanted to update, a little more info on the Asian carp issue?  They\u2019re already classified as bighead or silver carp, so they don\u2019t need to rename \u2019em.  But the other thing I wanted to specify is the fact they are a very edible fish. They\u2019re a plankton eater, which means they don\u2019t do the bottom feeding and they\u2019re not an issue to &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Wait a minute.  I had heard just the opposite, that you don\u2019t eat carp.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  No, these are actually very edible.  The problem is they\u2019re very bony and it\u2019s hard to filet them out.  But while canned they actually are very close to tuna.  The bigger problem we have with them &#8212; I am a member of the Salmon Unlimited in Chicago here.  We\u2019re trying to keep \u2019em out of the Great Lakes because they feed off of plankton rather than off the bottom mud whatever.  So they compete with all the sport fish, which is a million-dollar industry here for the Great Lakes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Right.  Well, just turn the carp into sport fish and shoot \u2019em, like I\u2019ve seen on the videos.  There\u2019s tons of them.  I\u2019m not kidding.
