RUSH: Jerry in Dayton, Ohio. Great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello, sir.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. It’s an honor.
RUSH: Thank you very much.
CALLER: When Carly was asked that question about the presidential code names, once again you inadvertently gave her the answer. The other day you were discussing the situation with Jeb Bush and his strategy of running steady and coming on late, and then you closed that story with, “You can do that except when you’re running against Secretariat.”
CALLER: Secretariat won’t quit, won’t stop, and will win, keep running to the end. I think Carly was picking Secretariat to show you she’s going to run to the end, or at least the Republican Party, she’s gonna be representative of the Republican Party.
RUSH: I wasn’t gonna mention this ’cause I don’t want people to think I’m lost in my own ego here. But I noticed this, I remembered I made that exact comparison. I wondered if anybody would remember this, and here you are, the first caller of the day. It was recently, too. It was somebody asking me to analyze Bush’s strategy. It’s exactly as you said —
CALLER: Well, I don’t mean to interrupt you, sorry. I think she had that little glint in her eye that she knows that’s the winner to beat, that’s the code name to beat, and you threw it out there first, so you get a hundred percent kudos for that one.
RUSH: There you go. Well, who am I to say that he’s wrong, folks? I mean, I’m polite, the caller’s here. So thank you, thank you very much, Jer. Influencing things in the debate even when I don’t know I am.
