RUSH: The latest Fox News poll gives Obama a 41% approval rating among registered voters. But how about this. Only 37% of voters under 30 approve of the job the president’s doing. That’s a 17-point decline, folks, in one year among voters who represent what was once the core of the Obama coalition.

These are the people to whom the president’s making an increasingly frantic plea to enroll in Obamacare, where that sick… Sorry. Yes, sick Pajama Boy ad. Do you know where you can get that? Somebody going through the Target, said you could actually buy that onesie that Pajama Boy’s wearing in that ad. You can actually buy it. It’s a one-piece pajama thing that the Pajama Boy’s wearing. You have to understand something. It’s like I told you yesterday, the Julia ad was a home run for them, for the people it was aimed at.

Julia was who single American women think of themselves as. I guarantee you, they did this Pajama Boy ad because, in their minds, that’s who their male supporters are. I guarantee you, that is who is posting at Democrat Underground. These little kids in their pajamas, they’re the ones that are all fed up and outraged and angry sitting there posting all these comments at all these left-wing websites. That’s who they are. (interruption)

Dawn says, “I think they’re cute. I like them. But not for boys.”

Well, a boy was wearing one. I’m telling you, that’s how the Regime sees their male supporters. I once had somebody ask me, a young person who was looking at some old automobiles, Model T’s, Model A’s, and some of the Bonnie and Clyde era-type cars.

“Why did they make ’em so ugly?”

“They weren’t ugly. They thought back then that that was the pinnacle of style.”

“They did?”

“Yeah. Just like you go out today for the latest new model car. You think that’s the one you like. I mean, that’s it. That’s rad, that’s great, that’s great styling. That’s what they thought back then.”

I’m telling you, that’s what Obama thinks. The people that run the Obama campaign and Moochelle and everybody else trying to get young people signed up, that’s how they see the young American male population. That’s who they are. That’s who they want them to be, and that’s who they’re trying to reach — and, by the way, those guys exist. They are all over the place. You can sit there, Snerdley, and think, “My God, these people are idiots. Who do they think…?”

There are a lot of those guys out there. There are a lot of ’em. You think they’re gonna run an ad that relates to two people? They’ve done their market research. That Pajama Boy is who they want to reach. That’s the kind of guy they think exists. That’s the kind of guy they want to be leading the charge for Obamacare. That’s the kind of man that they see as their male support population. I guarantee you. You think they’re designing an ad for one or two people?

You think they’re trying to insult people? (interruption) No, I don’t think we coulda won World War II with Pajama Boy. That’s a good point. But are you missing what I’m saying? Let me tell you something. Okay, who are we talking about here? We’re talking about the Democrat Party. They have some of the most adept pollsters, focus groupers, advertising wizards and so forth. Do you think…? This is a serious question, just looking at Pajama Boy.

Do you think that they are purposely going to concoct an image of an American man that they know is only 2%, 5%, 8% of the population, or 10%, whatever the number is? They think that they are reaching a majority of the men open to their message with that ad. You look at that ad and you think, “Oh, my God, if that’s America, we’re screwed. Oh, my God, how can we ever win World War II if that’s the American man today?”

The answer is, I’ve always told you, advertising will tell you where the country is. The people who are in charge of separating people from their money will tell you. I mean, the good ones at it, they identify where we are culturally. They’re able to put together spots, advertising, whatever to relate to it. My only point is the Democrat Party and the Obama Regime, they’re not going to concoct an ad that represents a tiny majority of people. They’re out to get people signing up for Obamacare.

They think they’re reaching gazillions with that ad, just like they thought they were with the Julia cartoon. That’s who they want the American male population to be. That’s what that ad means. It also means that’s who they think the American male population is. It’s both. They’re relating to the majority of young men with that ad. In addition, they want the majority of young men to relate to that ad, to feel like they could be in that ad. Why else run it?

They’re trying to get people to sign up. That’s who they are. That’s what they want the world to look like. That’s what they want American manhood to be. (interruption) Well, panic if you want. I’m just telling you, I made the mistake you’re making with the Julia ad. I looked at that and I said, “My God, people are gonna laugh at this ad left and right.” What I missed was that every single woman that saw that ad related to it and felt like somebody understood her situation and how to improve it.

Well, Pajama Boy, I guarantee you somebody’s little freckle-face whatever they are in their basements wearing these onesies posting all that hate on Democrat websites, they’re gonna see that, and they’re gonna think, “Obama knows me! Obama gets me! Obama knows who I am!” They’re trying to get signups. They’re not running that ad to offend people. They’re not running that ad to laugh at people. They think that ad is going to encourage the people they want, young men, to sign up for Obamacare.

RUSH: Just one final thing on this Pajama Boy, folks. You have to understand here that the Regime is living in a bubble. The Regime is full of men who are Pajama Boy. That’s who they are, folks. They think that is America.

They think America looks like them, but it doesn’t.

So what they’re really doing is marketing to themselves, and that’s why it isn’t working.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Hi. Welcome back. Great to have you, Rush Limbaugh, serving humanity, executing assigned host duties flawlessly, zero mistakes.

Okay, just a couple more things on Pajama Boy, because I’ve opened up a loop here that I want to close. This ad, the Julia cartoon ad, and the Pajama Boy ad, you have to understand, that is who the Regime is. This administration is filled with guys who used to be Pajama Boy. They think they are America. Snerdley, not one of them has worked in the private sector, not one of them. They’re all academicians, theorists, professors. They’re all people that congregated at the academy. They sit around and theorize, and they’re filled with resentment for everybody that actually does something.

They’re smarter than everybody else. If only they had a chance to run it, they would show everybody. They could do health care better than the people doing it. They can run the car companies better than the people doing it, run energy better than the people in the oil business. They could run drugs better. They could do everything better! They’re smarter than everybody, but nobody would ever hire ’em ’cause they’ve never done anything.

So they congregate in universities and the faculty lounge and they end up getting to know each other, and they have all these networks where they congregate and become like-minded people. I guarantee you they run that ad, and they think they are mass marketing. They are arrogant enough to believe that they are America. I mean, there should be no question about it. When somebody in the media goes to Texas or anywhere in flyover country, they look out of place. They don’t understand.

Remember John Kerry when he was running for president in 2004, tried to come off as he thinks hunters are. It was either Indiana or Ohio, he walked into a place to get a hunting license, and this was so patently obvious. John Kerry walks into this place, and I’m sure that he thinks going in there is nothing but a bunch of stupid hicks, backwoods tobacco-chewing, just idiots in there. He walks in, and he says (imitating Kerry), “Is this where I get me a huntin’ license?” ‘Cause that’s how he thinks they are, so he was trying to pass himself off as one. And in his mind it was I’m sure a huge come-down.

But, I mean, “Is this where I get me a huntin’ license?” He was trying to relate to the people he thinks are inferior. But on Election Day I guess it matters they exist because they vote so he’s out there trying to relate to ’em. That’s who these people are. They’re academicians, they’re technicians, they’re sitting around, they’re arrogant, they think they’re smarter and better than everybody else and if only they had the chance to prove it they could show everybody.

They’ve had the chance for five years, and where are we? They don’t have anybody with any practical experience, but they run this ad, they put this ad together and they think they are America. But they’re wrong. They think America looks like them. They think they look like America. That’s why Obamacare is a disastrous rollout. They do not know how to market to people. They know how, as leftists, to get their votes, but they don’t know how to make them part with their money happily.

I know I’m making a bigger deal out of this than many really think it deserves time-wise, but this Pajama Boy ad, that’s who they are, and that’s who they think you are. There is no other conclusion. They’re not purposely targeting to what they think is a minority of people. They’re trying to get gazillions of young people to sign up for Obamacare. I mean, Michelle Obama’s out there suggesting that everybody’s New Year’s resolution ought to be to sign up. Grab it. I’ve got the sound bite. She’s on a radio show this morning, and this is what she said about it.

MICHELLE: This act provides a safety net for millions and millions of Americans, but we have to take the next step to go check it up — check it out, sign up, and make sure that we’re covered. That should be our New Year’s resolution.

RUSH: Okay, so they run an ad: what are you doing on this cold December day? You’re drinking hot chocolate, thinking about Obamacare. Now it’s gotta be your New Year’s resolution. We sit here and laugh at it, but I’m telling you, they’re dead serious. That’s how they think they can relate to and motivate and move a bunch of people. And the reason Obamacare, one of the many reasons it’s a disaster is ’cause they don’t know who America is and they don’t know how to market it and they don’t know that people don’t want it. They want it, so they think everybody should want it.

If they were really smart, they would have the Duck Dynasty guys helping ’em enroll people for Obamacare. If Obama was really a unifier, he would intercede here on behalf of A&E and Phil Robertson and try to broker and put it all back together, to convey and illustrate his skills and unity. But it isn’t gonna happen. ‘Cause Obama is happy the guy got canned. Just like every other leftist is.

RUSH: Well, guess what? They have found out who Pajama Boy is. He’s a real guy, just like I thought, just like I told you. His name is Ethan, and he’s a member of Organizing for America. He’s part of the Obama website brigade. It’s not some model. You gotta remember, they’re going through everybody that’s a member organization, Organizing for America, and saying, “Okay, we got find a guy who’s gonna make the best impression. We gotta find the guy that’s gonna force more people, influence more people than anybody else sign up.”

That’s the guy they chose.

It is all I am saying. It’s just… (interruption) What? (interruption) Oh. Oh. Oh. Yeah. We do have an Ethan on our staff too, but he doesn’t look anything like that.

RUSH: Here’s Scooter in Gainesville, Virginia. Hi, Scooter. It’s great to have you with us. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. Thanks for taking my call.

RUSH: You bet, Scooter.

CALLER: Hey, listen, I’m a 20-something living outside of DC, and I realize listening to your show that I’m the guy who Obama hopes is one of his Pajama Boys. I’m him.

RUSH: How so?

CALLER: Well, you know, I’m a 20-something. He hopes that I’m gonna sign for Obamacare. He’s banking on the fact that I’ll pay for the future health care costs of those on the other end of the health care spectrum.

RUSH: Right. The elderly and the sick. They’re counting on you.

CALLER: He’s counting on me, yeah. I realized that listening to your show. But the point actually I wanted to make was, you know, the media coverage of this whole Duck Dynasty controversy versus Martin Bashir’s attack on Sarah Palin is absolutely disgraceful. You had a situation where a reporter asked, and basically Phil Robertson gave his opinion on what he considered to be sin, his own personal opinion, which he followed up by saying, “But I’m not one to judge,” and then you had Martin Bashir on live national television insinuating that someone should defecate on Sarah Palin, and there was absolutely zero major media coverage, aside from Fox and talk radio and a couple others.

RUSH: Yeah, that’s exactly right. The people you’re talking about were not offended by that, were this?

CALLER: It’s an absolute disgrace. You know, unless you’re living under a rock, at this point most of America has probably heard of the controversy with Phil Robertson and Duck Dynasty. How many of those same people could recall what Martin Bashir said should be done to Sarah Palin?

RUSH: Well, let’s be honest, now. Phil Robertson is about a gazillion times more popular than Martin Bashir and a gazillion times more known. Martin Bashir is invisible. He’s at MSNBC. Nobody watches.

CALLER: Good point.

RUSH: So if it’s not reported that he said that, nobody’s gonna know it because nobody watches him.

CALLER: Very good point.

RUSH: But it is a good point. Your point is not invalidated by that. The fact is, it wasn’t reported, and people did find out about it, and the people that are outraged over Phil Robertson could nota cared less.

CALLER: Alec Baldwin, Ed Schultz, the list goes on. You know, Martin Bashir is definitely obscure, but the list of center-left to liberal media figures who have said absolutely outrageous, offensive things about women, about conservative women, about gay people, the list of people goes on. The media outcry is not even a comparison.

RUSH: Well, except for Alec Baldwin. He went one step too far, apparently, ’cause they did make the decision to pull the plug on him. Yeah, even a couple steps too far. But no, you’re exactly right. Scooter, before you go, are you gonna sign up for Obamacare? Are you gonna be Ethan Krupp? Are you gonna go out and sign up?

CALLER: Well, luckily at the present time — who knows how this shakes out, but — I’m lucky to work for an employer who provides excellent health care in return for my hard work and labor.

RUSH: Well, good.

CALLER: So I have absolutely no intention of signing up unless the Obamacare police come knocking at my door and force me to sign the papers, which I’m not saying will happen, but that’s about the only way at this point, unless something changes in the immediate future that I would have to sign up for Obamacare.

RUSH: If Obama gets his way, you are going to lose what you’ve got and you’ll have to re-sign up with him. That’s if he gets his way.

CALLER: If he gets his way. Hopefully in the next two years things will turn around and that possibility won’t have to happen. But we’ll see.

RUSH: I hope you’re right.

CALLER: If the Pajama Boy works, who knows?

RUSH: I know, and that’s a scary thought, isn’t it? If the Pajama Boy ad works, that is a scary thought. On that, Scooter, I gotta hit the trail. But thanks much. Great to hear from you.
