RUSH: Dadelut dadelut dadelut dadelut dadelut. That’s the trumpet fanfare, folks. It hearkens back to the Grooveyard of Forgotten Favorite days on this program. And we indeed are hearkening back, turning back the hands of time. Our old friend, the late great Klaus Nomi and a gay community update.

(playing of song)

RUSH: Klaus Nomi, everybody!

(Continued playing of song)

RUSH: Let ‘er rip, Klaus. Yes, sir! Klaus Nomi!

(continued playing of song)

RUSH: Yes siree, my friends, the gay community update there voiced, a vocal portrayal by Klaus Nomi. Okay, today’s gay update theme comes from Phil Robertson, one of the stars of the reality show that’s taken the nation by storm, Duck Dynasty. Phil Robertson, the founder of Duck Commander, recently interviewed in GQ magazine, asked about homosexuality. He said (paraphrasing), “What? I don’t understand it. A vagina is more desirable than a man’s anus. Why would a guy want to not use a vagina?”

RUSH: He is hated about now. No, he said that. I’m not making it up.

(continued playing of song)

RUSH: Ah, from the Grooveyard of Forgotten Favorites, Klaus Nomi. “You don’t know me.” Our gay community update theme. Phil Robertson in GQ said, “It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a manÂ’s anus. ThatÂ’s just me. IÂ’m just thinking: ThereÂ’s more there! SheÂ’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what IÂ’m saying? But hey, sin: ItÂ’s not logical, my man. ItÂ’s just not logical.”

Well, that has caused an uproar out there in the gay community. The left is hysterical over these comments made by Phil Robertson. And I would just like to point out to the estimable Pierce Morgan and others that the views expressed by Phil Robertson in GQ happen to totally line up with the views of the Drive-Bys’ new best friend forever, the pope. And yet the left has totally embraced the pope. But the long knives are out for Phil Robertson.

Robertson further said, “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. DonÂ’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they wonÂ’t inherit the kingdom of God. DonÂ’t deceive yourself. ItÂ’s not right.”

Well, as you can well imagine, the left is hysterical, rather than just let it go. It’s the Duck Dynasty guy. They’re making a huge, huge deal out of it. It’s outrageous. But his views, I mean, folks, they line up almost exactly with the views of the new BFF of the libs: The Catholic Church.

I made a prediction some time ago that gay marriage would lead to other things. Do you remember what I said? Polygamy. I said that this would lead to that, and I wasn’t the only one. Scalia, Justice Scalia has said the same thing, I think in a Supreme Court ruling in a Texas case. I, of course, El Rushbo, was not the only one. I predicted that before this is all said and done, once we’ve crossed this barrier, that polygamists will have the same legal rights same-sex couples and we’re then gonna redefine what a family is.

Once we bust up the definition of marriage, it can then be anything anybody wants it to be. Marriage was a man and a woman, and once it’s not, then it can be anything that anybody wants to lobby for, once it’s been blown to smithereens. Well, a story from the Los Angeles Times: “Advocates for so-called plural marriages are applauding a ruling by a US District Court judge that struck down key segments of Utah’s anti-polygamy law, saying they violated constitutional rights to privacy and religious freedom.

“In a 91-page decision issued Friday, Judge Clark Waddoups effectively decriminalized polygamy in Utah, ruling that a central phrase in the state’s law forbidding cohabitation with another person violated the 1st and 14th amendments. The ruling, which distinguishes between polygamy and bigamy, was the result of a lawsuit filed in 2011 by Kody Brown, star of the reality series ‘Sister Wives,’ now in its fourth season on cable TV’s TLC,” if you’re interested.

“Brown has four ‘wives’ — who together have 17 children — but is legally married only to his first, Meri Brown,” and he has just been upheld. Polygamy supporters are beside themselves with thrill and delight. They’re excited beyond belief because parts of the anti-polygamy law in Utah have been struck down.

“Jonathan Turley, a Washington-based attorney who represents the Brown family, called the ruling a landmark.” He represented the plaintiff. Polygamists have “the same legal standing as same-sex couples. ‘The importance of this decision is that for the first time in the history of the state, a plural family can publicly be what they are in private,’ he said.” Polygamists have “the same legal standing as same-sex couples.”

See, folks, this was not a hard prediction.

Once you blow up the marriage, definition of marriage, then it can be anything. (interruption) Why are you frowning at me? You disagree with this? It was only natural — and, by the way, this is what the left wants in all of this. I’ve been predicting this for years. January 2007, when the Heather Has Two Mommies and a Daddy came out. This has been easy to predict would happen if they ever blew up the definition of marriage. In fact, on my website back in March of this year there was a Supreme Court decision.

We headlined it, “Why Draw the Line at Couples?” based on the discussion on this program that day. I’ll just say it again so nobody is confused. Once you blow up the definition of marriage… Since the beginning of time, marriage was an official, sanctioned union between a man and a woman. Once you blow that up, it can be anything anybody wants it to be.

‘Cause anybody will be able to find a judge somewhere that’ll go along with it. In this case, it’s polygamy now. “Hunky-dory, dude! Polygamy, fine and dandy,” and now polygamists… These are not my words, by the way. It comes from the news story in the LA Times. Polygamists have “the same legal standing as same-sex couples.” How can they not, since marriage has been redefined? Next up somebody’s gonna marry their pet, and who’s to say no?
